Boat Tours Cabo San Lucas – Los Cabos Arch & Lover’s Beach Tour + Snorkeling Tour

Snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas is a boat trip: you sail from the marina past the Arch and Lover’s Beach, then swim at Pelican Rock or at a bay along the Tourist Corridor. I compared four snorkeling tours on GetYourGuide, from $51 to $177 and from 2 to 4 hours. For the full list of boats, see my guide to boat tours in Cabo San Lucas. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.

My pick for snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas is the Baja Snorkel tour at $51: 2 hours, 4.9 from 365 reviews, with one hour in the water at Pelican Rock. For a longer day with lunch I’d choose the Cabo Adventures catamaran at $177.

Diving Cabo San Lucas

Diving in Cabo San Lucas is not something I can compare: none of the 16 boat trips in my data is a scuba trip. The four tours below are snorkeling, with masks and fins supplied, and the snorkeling happens near Pelican Rock or at Santa Maria Beach. In a straight line, Pelican Rock is about 1.0 mile from the marina, so the boat reaches it quickly.

If you hold a diving certificate and want to go down, you would book separately with a dive shop. If you only want to see the fish and the rocks from above, a snorkeling tour does that without a course and costs less.

Snorkeling Cabo San Lucas Mexico

Snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, mostly means Pelican Rock and Lover’s Beach. The Baja Snorkel itinerary gives a five-minute water taxi from the dock, a 30-minute guided tour of Land’s End, one hour of snorkeling at Pelican Rock and a 10-minute photo stop at the Arch. The description adds Lover’s Beach, the sea lion colony, the pirate cave and the window cave. Snorkel gear, a life jacket, sodas and water are included, and the listing tells you to bring your own towel.

Reviewers like the two guides, Luis and Alex, and one writes that Alex kept checking in on them while they snorkeled. You meet near the colorful surfboard art by the dolphinarium, and the listing asks you to use the map in the same app that you booked with. The rating is 4.9 from 365 reviews, the highest count on this page.

Cabo San Lucas Snorkeling Excursion

For a Cabo San Lucas snorkeling excursion with more comfort, I look at the Cabo Adventures catamaran. It costs $177 for 4 hours and is rated 4.5 from 106 reviews. It includes snorkeling gear, paddleboards, a deli-style lunch in bento boxes, a national open bar, the dock entrance fee, towels and round-trip transport. The pickup in the listing is from San Jose del Cabo, with a 1.5-hour van ride, so allow for that if you stay in the Cabo San Lucas hotel zone and ask about the pickup.

The Pez Gato 4-hour cruise is the cheaper long trip. At $104 it has hotel pickup (arranged 48 hours ahead), an open bar with domestic drinks, snacks of baguettes, fruit and chips, towels and all the snorkeling gear. It runs along the Tourist Corridor to Santa Maria Beach: 45 minutes of snorkeling, 30 minutes of lunch and 20 minutes of free time. One reviewer found the sea rough and the snorkeling not world class, but saw plenty of fish.

Cabo San Lucas Snorkeling Trips

Cabo San Lucas snorkeling trips under sail are the third kind. Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures sells a luxury snorkeling and sailing half day at $84 for 3 hours. The listing describes the sightseeing past the Arch, Lover’s Beach and the sea lion colony, snorkeling at what it calls the leading snorkeling site in the area, then a sail along the coast. It includes gear, towels, a light lunch, an open bar, wetsuits in winter, transport and gratuities. The rating is 4.8, but from only 15 reviews.

It leaves from Dock F, the fourth gate from Lorenzillo’s restaurant towards the Wyndham hotel. Several marinas exist in Cabo, and this one is the IGY marina downtown. Check the pin before you travel. For more on the sailing side, see my sailing page.

Best Snorkeling Cabo San Lucas

The best snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas, going by price and reviews, is the Baja Snorkel tour. It is the cheapest and the best reviewed, and it spends the most time in the water for its length: an hour at Pelican Rock inside a 2-hour trip. The three longer tours trade that for lunch, an open bar and a boat with more room, and they add a van ride from your hotel or from San Jose del Cabo.

Water and weather matter more than any listing. The Pez Gato review about rough seas is a reminder that the plan can change on the day, as the reviewer says the crew moved them somewhere safe. All four trips refund in full up to 24 hours ahead, so you can move the date if the forecast looks bad.

What to Bring for Snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas

For snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas I’d bring reef-safe sunscreen, a swimsuit under your clothes, a towel on the Baja Snorkel tour (the listing says to bring your own), and a waterproof pouch for your phone. The other three tours supply towels. Cash is useful for tips on the shorter trips, although gratuities are listed as included on the Cabo Sailing, Pez Gato and Cabo Adventures trips.

Allow time to get to the meeting point. The Baja Snorkel tour meets by the surfboard art close to the dolphinarium, and the Cabo Sailing trips meet at Dock F. The two longer cruises pick you up, but the Pez Gato pickup must be arranged 48 hours ahead and the Cabo Adventures pickup is from San Jose del Cabo. Each of these snorkeling trips in Cabo San Lucas lists a refund up to 24 hours before, so you can move the date if the sea looks rough.

How I’d Choose a Snorkeling Tour in Cabo San Lucas

For a first snorkeling tour in Cabo San Lucas, the Baja Snorkel trip is the one I’d book. For a long day with lunch and drinks, I’d pay more for the Cabo Adventures catamaran. If you want sails up and a quieter boat, the Cabo Sailing half day is the one, and the Pez Gato cruise is the middle option if hotel pickup matters.

Then look at the other things on the water: my guide to every boat tour in Cabo San Lucas, the whale watching page if you are visiting in winter, or the Harbour Advisor home page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas cost?

The four snorkeling boat trips I compared cost $51 for the 2-hour Baja Snorkel tour, $84 for the 3-hour Cabo Sailing half day with a sail and lunch, $104 for the 4-hour Pez Gato cruise with open bar, and $177 for the 4-hour Cabo Adventures catamaran with lunch and paddleboards. All supply the snorkeling gear.

Where is the best snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas?

In my data, Pelican Rock is the main snorkeling stop: the Baja Snorkel tour spends one hour there, and the private sailing listing names Pelican Rock cove. The Cabo Sailing half-day trip calls its spot the leading snorkeling site in the area. The Pez Gato cruise goes to Santa Maria Beach instead.

Is snorkeling in Cabo San Lucas good for beginners?

The listings supply masks, fins and life jackets, and the Baja Snorkel reviewers say the guides kept checking on swimmers. One Pez Gato reviewer wrote that the snorkeling was not world class but they saw plenty of fish. I'd book the shorter Baja Snorkel tour first if you are new to it.

What is included on a snorkeling boat tour in Cabo San Lucas?

All four include snorkeling gear and either drinks or an open bar. Baja Snorkel adds sodas, water and a life jacket; Cabo Sailing adds towels, a light lunch and wetsuits in winter; Pez Gato adds snacks and towels; Cabo Adventures adds paddleboards, bento-box lunch, the dock fee and transport.

Can I go diving in Cabo San Lucas on these tours?

No. These four trips are snorkeling only, and none of the 16 boat trips in my data sells scuba diving. If you want to dive, you would need to look for a dive operator, which I have not compared. The snorkel tours here are a way to see the same rocks and fish from the surface.
