Boat tours in Mallorca come in four shapes: a big catamaran with lunch, a small sailing yacht with an open bar, a private boat for your group and a self-drive rental (listed as licence-free, but see the note on the licence rule below). I compared all 17 trips you can book on GetYourGuide right now, from a $39 snorkel cruise to a $1,066 private yacht, and the differences come down to who you share the boat with and where it leaves from. Everything below comes from the operators’ own listings: prices, ratings, durations, meeting points and what is included. I haven’t been on any of these boats, so my picks rest on the data and the review snippets, not on a personal sailing.
My short answer for a first Mallorca boat tour: I’d book the Magic Catamarans cruise at $66, because 12,501 guests rate it 4.6 and it runs five hours with lunch from the centre of Palma. If you would rather have a small yacht, I’d take the Isla Sailing trip at $100, rated 5.0 from 126 reviews. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.
Mallorca boat trips split by coast. Palma and its bay hold most of the departures, and the north around Alcúdia holds the rest, so the first decision is which side of the island you are sleeping on. The Autoritat Portuària de Balears runs the main harbour in Palma, and the catamarans, sailing yachts and charters in this comparison all use marinas or docks along the same stretch of waterfront.
The two highest-rated trips at the top of my list are both from Palma, but they are different days out. Magic Catamarans costs $66 and lasts five hours: you board in front of the Auditorium on Passeig Marítim, sail the south coast to Portals Vells or Cala Vella depending on the wind, and get a buffet lunch with wine and sangria, plus soft drinks, coffee and juice all trip. Snorkel gear comes with a 10 euro refundable deposit. Isla Sailing is the smaller, quieter option: $100 for 3 to 7 hours depending on the version you pick, with a professional skipper, cava, beer, white wine and tapas, snorkel gear and a paddleboard. It meets at the back entrance of Club de Mar next to the cruise terminal.

MAGIC CATAMARANS
My pick: My default first booking: $66, five hours, lunch and drinks included, 4.6 from 12,501 reviews, boards in central Palma.

Isla Sailing
My pick: A sailing yacht with a skipper, tapas and a paddleboard at $100, rated 5.0 from 126 reviews; not for wheelchair users or anyone prone to seasickness.
Boat tours in Mallorca are not only about sitting on deck. The Challenge Mallorca sells a three-hour kayaking day from the Alcúdia area for $74, rated 4.8 from 2,594 reviews. It is not a cruise in the usual sense: you take a 20-minute bus from one of ten pickup hotels, paddle at La Victòria, explore a sea cave, jump from a cliff, snorkel and stop for a picnic lunch. If you want to be in the water more than on a boat, it is the one I’d pick.
At the other end of the north coast, SeaMallorcaTrips runs a private traditional llaüt from Puerto de Bonaire for $208, 2.5 hours, rated 4.9 from 77 reviews. The listing says the whole boat is yours, for up to four people, and names S’Illot, Punta Corrent, Caló de Sa Figuera and Platja de Formentor as stops. It also excludes children under 6, pregnant women, people over 60 and wheelchair users, which is stricter than any other trip I compared. Anyone planning a family outing should read the exclusions before booking.

The Challenge Mallorca
My pick: The active pick: kayaks, a sea cave, cliff jumping and snorkelling for $74, 4.8 from 2,594 reviews, with pickup in the Alcúdia area.

SeaMallorcaTrips
My pick: A private traditional boat for up to four from Puerto de Bonaire: $208, 2.5 hours, 4.9 from 77 reviews, but check the age and health exclusions.
For the best boat tours in Mallorca I look at rating and review count together, then at what the price includes. A 5.0 from one review tells me little; 4.5 from 3,641 tells me a lot. By that rule the Attraction Catamarans trip at $62 is the safest big-boat Mallorca boat tour after Magic Catamarans. It lasts four to five hours, leaves from the Golondrinas marina in Palma, and includes a gourmet buffet lunch or dinner, a swim stop at Cala Vella, an onboard DJ and a photographer. Drinks from the bar are not included, and snorkel gear costs 20 euros on board.
If you would rather skipper yourself, the EMBARK rental at Santa Ponsa is the best-reviewed self-drive boat I found with more than 90 reviews: $314, 3 to 6 hours, rated 4.7 from 92 reviews. The listing says no licence is needed, but since 1 October 2026 Real Decreto 1188/2025 requires renters of these boats to hold a title, so ask the operator about a skipper or the short licence course before you book. The Bayliner holds up to five people, fuel for the contracted route is included, and you leave a 150 euro cash deposit. The listing offers three starting points and names Cala Fornells and the Malgrats Islands as route options. One reviewer says the kids loved it.

Attraction Catamarans
My pick: The party-style big boat: $62, four to five hours, buffet and DJ, 4.5 from 3,641 reviews, drinks extra.

EMBARK
My pick: Drive it yourself (listed as no licence, ask the operator first): $314 for 3 to 6 hours, up to five people, 4.7 from 92 reviews, plus a 150 euro cash deposit.
A Mallorca sunset boat tour is mostly a Palma Bay trip, because that is where the evening departures are. SeaBarcelona’s midday or sunset sailing is the only trip in my data sold as a sunset option: $107 for 4 hours, up to 10 guests on a sailing yacht, with an open bar of cava, wine and beer, and Mallorcan snacks such as ham, cheese and olives. The itinerary starts at Club de Mar, spends about 1.5 hours cruising the bay, then goes to a secret stop to swim and snorkel. It is rated 4.7 from 963 reviews. The Attraction Catamarans trip also lists a sunset at Cala Vella in its itinerary, so it works as a cheaper shared alternative with a meal.
Sunset times shift by more than four hours across the year. For Palma I get roughly 5:51 PM in January, 6:57 PM in March, 8:28 PM in April, 9:20 PM in June, 8:47 PM in August, 7:12 PM in October and 5:27 PM in December, all in local time. In summer the sunset sail finishes close to 10 PM, while in winter it ends before most restaurants open. Whichever Mallorca boat tour you choose for sunset, confirm the exact start time for your date, because the operators set it from the sun.

SeaBarcelona
My pick: The sunset sail I'd book: $107, four hours, open bar and snacks, 4.7 from 963 reviews, groups capped at ten.
Boat tours in Mallorca with kids work best when there is something for children to do besides sit. The Brisa catamaran from Port d’Alcúdia costs $76 for five hours, rated 4.5 from 3,246 reviews. The listing includes canoes, standup paddleboards, a lunch or dinner and two drinks, and a morning option exists. Reviewers mention the swimming stops and the food. It is the family boat tour in Mallorca I’d start with for the north of the island.
The Pedro Yllera private charter from Portals Nous is a different kind of day, and it is the one trip left over once the others had a home, not a pick made for families. The price is $584 for four hours, rated 4.8 from 77 reviews, with a Capelli speedboat, a donut tube, a SUP board, a seascooter and a pasta lunch. The listing says it suits families or bachelor parties, and it adds a mandatory fuel charge of about 80 euros and a port fee of 80 euros, so the real cost is higher than the headline. Teenagers will like it more than toddlers on a fast boat.

Transportes Maritimos Brisa
My pick: My family pick for the north: $76, five hours, canoes and paddleboards, lunch included, 4.5 from 3,246 reviews.

Pedro Yllera
My pick: A water-toy day for older kids and groups: $584 for four hours, 4.8 from 77 reviews, with about 160 euros of mandatory fuel and port fees on top.
Port de Sóller sits on the northwest coast, and none of the 17 trips in my data leaves from there. The Marina del Port de Sóller is about 16.5 miles (26.6 km) in a straight line from Marina Port de Mallorca in Palma, across the Tramuntana mountains. If you are staying in Sóller and searching for a boat tour in Mallorca from the port, you will have to take a transfer or a bus to a departure point. I’d rather say that than pretend a trip fits.
The two boat tours in Mallorca below are the ones I’d pair with a Sóller stay if you want to be on the water on another day. The Sa Calma Boats cruise at $39 is the cheapest in my whole list: 2.5 hours around the Palma Marine Nature Reserve, with a swim stop at Cala Vella if the weather is good, one drink, a snorkel set for a 10 euro deposit, a shower and a toilet on board. It is rated 4.4 from 2,725 reviews. The Rapita Charter rental is in the far south at Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, so it is the opposite end of the island.

Sa Calma Boats
My pick: The cheapest trip I found: $39, 2.5 hours in the Bay of Palma, drink and snorkel set included, 4.4 from 2,725 reviews; it leaves from Palma, not Sóller.

Rapita Charter
My pick: A self-drive day on the south coast from Sa Ràpita: $314, 4 to 8 hours, 4.9 from 33 reviews, with a 200 euro deposit.
A boat ride in Mallorca, like most boat tours in Mallorca, can be short and cheap or long and expensive, and the sweet spot is the shared catamaran. The Life and Sea cruise leaves from the Arenal Yacht Club for 2 to 4 hours, with the morning departure including a barbecue on board with pasta salad and local bread, plus water, beer or sangria. It costs $45, is rated 4.3 from 3,236 reviews, and includes hotel pickup. The listing steers you towards Cap Enderrocat and Cala Vella. A reviewer says their teenagers loved jumping off the boat.
The top of the market is the private yacht charter from Drive Mallorca: a Fairline Targa 52 for up to 10 people, $1,066 for 3 to 8 hours, with a skipper, a SUP board and snorkel gear. The route passes Palma Cathedral, Mirador Illetas, the Cova de Portals Vells and Magaluf Beach. It has one review so far, a 5.0, which is not enough to build on. Fuel from 150 euros is paid directly, so I’d plan on a higher total. Between these two sits the entire range of a boat ride in Mallorca.

LIFE & SEA MALLORCA, S.L.
My pick: A budget catamaran with hotel pickup: $45, 2 to 4 hours, 4.3 from 3,236 reviews, barbecue on the morning departure.

Drive Mallorca
My pick: The luxury end: a crewed 52-foot yacht for up to ten at $1,066; only one review so far, and fuel is extra.
Mallorca is the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, and a boat tour in Mallorca, Spain usually means the Mediterranean on your doorstep: warm water for swimming, small coves and protected reserves. For the island’s tourism information, the Consell de Mallorca is the island government’s official site. Most operators speak English and Spanish, and several add German, French, Dutch or Italian.
Two trips stand out for people who want a small group on the north coast. Caribia Sailing runs a four-hour half-day sailing trip from Marina Alcudiamar for up to 10 guests at $112, rated 4.9 from 548 reviews. It meets at dock 7, place 646, and the boat is called Nereida. The itinerary includes about 1.5 hours of sailing and an hour at Platja del Coll Baix to swim and snorkel, with tapas, unlimited beer and soft drinks, and hotel pickup. Vi Charter is the private alternative: $505 for 2 to 5 hours on the Vi Q4 motor yacht, with a skipper, snorkel gear, a drone, a SUP board, snacks and alcoholic drinks. It has no ratings yet.

Caribia Sailing
My pick: Half a day under sail from Alcúdia: $112, 4 hours, tapas and unlimited drinks, 4.9 from 548 reviews.

Vi Charter
My pick: A private motor yacht for a celebration at $505; no ratings yet, so I'd read the operator's other reviews first.
Palma is where I’d start boat tours in Mallorca if you have no car. The bay is protected, the marinas are a short taxi ride from the cathedral, and the departure points are close together: from the Marina Port de Mallorca the cathedral is 1.1 miles (1.8 km) away, Castillo de Bellver is 0.5 miles and Cala Major is 1.4 miles. For a Palma boat tour I’d price in the time it takes to find the right dock, because the marina entrances are not the same: Magic Catamarans uses the dock opposite the Auditorium, Attraction Catamarans uses the Golondrinas marina, and the sailing yachts start at Club de Mar.
The Arenal Boat Charter rental leaves from El Arenal, on Palma’s beach side, for $213: 2, 3, 4 or 6 hours, listed as no licence (ask the operator, as the rule changed on 1 October 2026), rated 4.7 from 560 reviews. The listing includes the briefing, petrol, insurance, port fees and life jackets, and it adds a guide who comes with you at 25 euros per hour. The route runs to Cala Blava, Cala Vella and Platja de Palma. A reviewer calls driving the boat the best time of their trip.

Arenal Boat Charter
My pick: The self-drive pick from Palma's beach side: $213, listed as no licence (ask the operator first), 2 to 6 hours, 4.7 from 560 reviews, guide fee extra.
Cala d’Or is on the southeast coast, and none of the 17 trips leaves from there. The miniBAR&Co private tour is the one that comes closest in spirit, because it explores coves that are only reachable from the sea, but it starts at Club de Mar in Palma and stays in the Bay of Palma. It costs $438 for 2 to 4 hours, with a skipper, a SUP board, snorkel gear and an underwater camera, and it is rated 5.0 from 147 reviews. The stops named in the listing are Cala Comtesa, Punta Negra, Cala Vinyes and Cala Bella Dona.
If your hotel is on the east coast, I’d treat a Palma trip as a day out, not as a local Mallorca boat tour. A private boat is the only format that gives you full control of the schedule, but you pay for it: nearly $440 for two to four hours against $39 to $76 for a shared cruise.

miniBAR&Co
My pick: The best-reviewed private tour in my list: $438, 2 to 4 hours, 5.0 from 147 reviews, but it starts in Palma, not Cala d'Or.
The infographic below follows the miniBAR&Co route, which starts at Club de Mar and works through the Bay of Palma, Cala Comtesa, Punta Negra, Cala Vinyes and Cala Bella Dona. Most boat tours in Mallorca from Palma follow a shorter version: out past the cathedral skyline, along the south-west coast to a swimming cove, and back. Shared catamarans use Cala Vella or Portals Vells depending on the wind, while the north-coast boats head for Coll Baix or the Formentor side.

Stops on the route
Two things worth planning around. The wind decides where the boat goes, and Magic Catamarans says so in its own listing. The Spanish state weather agency, AEMET, publishes marine forecasts, and I’d check it the day before if you are prone to seasickness. Secondly, the best light is late in the afternoon, which is why the sunset and dinner departures cost more.
The boats on a Mallorca boat tour leave from three clusters. The Palma waterfront is the biggest: the Auditorium dock, the Golondrinas marina, Club de Mar and the Marina Port de Mallorca are within about a mile of each other. The Bay of Palma beaches hold El Arenal, Santa Ponsa and Portals Nous. The north has Port d’Alcúdia and Puerto de Bonaire, and the south has Sa Ràpita. Distances are straight-line and measured from the Marina Port de Mallorca, so allow extra for the road.

Open in Google MapsMy data splits the 17 Mallorca boat tours into six types, and each has its own page. Prices are the lowest listed for that type, and durations come from the listings. Some products appear in two types, so the counts overlap.
| Trip type | Price from | Typical duration | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boat rental | $213 | 2 to 8 hours | Self-drive boats for up to five (licence rule applies) |
| Snorkeling tour | $39 | 2.5 to 7 hours | Swim stops in the Bay of Palma, or kayaking in the north |

| Private boat tour | $208 | 2 to 8 hours | Couples and groups who want the boat to themselves |
Here is how I’d pick among the boat tours in Mallorca in four questions.
All 17 trips offer cancellation up to 24 hours ahead, so book early and move the date if the wind picks up. Whichever boat tour in Mallorca you choose, confirm the meeting point and time in your confirmation email, because several operators send the exact dock only after you book.

For a first trip I'd book the 5-Hour Catamaran Cruise with Lunch and Swim from Magic Catamarans: $66, rated 4.6 from 12,501 reviews, with a buffet lunch, wine and two swim stops. For a smaller boat I'd take the Isla Sailing trip at $100, rated 5.0 from 126 reviews, or the Caribia Sailing half day from Alcúdia at $112, rated 4.9.
Prices on GetYourGuide run from $39 for the 2.5-hour Sa Calma Boats cruise to $1,066 for a private Fairline Targa 52 yacht. Shared catamaran cruises cost $45 to $76, sailing trips $100 to $112, self-drive boat rentals $213 to $314 and private boats $208 to $584. Fuel, port fees and guide fees on some private boats are paid separately.
Most leave from Palma: the dock in front of the Auditorium on Passeig Marítim, the Golondrinas marina, Club de Mar and the Marina Port de Mallorca. Others sail from Port d'Alcúdia and Puerto de Bonaire in the north, El Arenal, Santa Ponsa and Portals Nous in the Bay of Palma, and Sa Ràpita in the south.
Shared cruises last 2.5 to 5 hours. The Sa Calma Boats snorkel cruise is 2.5 hours, the sailing trips are 3 to 7 hours depending on the option, and the Magic Catamarans and Brisa catamarans run 5 hours with lunch. Private boats and rentals are booked from 2 hours, and the longest rental option listed is 8 hours.
Three listings say no licence is needed: Arenal Boat Charter from El Arenal at $213, EMBARK from Santa Ponsa at $314 and Rapita Charter from Sa Ràpita at $314. But since 1 October 2026 Spanish rules (Real Decreto 1188/2025, on the BOE) require renters of these boats to hold a title, so ask the operator whether it offers a skipper, the short licence course or a licence-free category before you book. You get a briefing before you go. Fuel, deposits of 150 to 200 euros and a guide fee on one listing are extra, so read each cost list.
Yes. SeaBarcelona sells a midday or sunset sailing trip from Club de Mar in Palma: $107, four hours, rated 4.7 from 963 reviews, with an open bar and snacks for up to 10 guests. Sunset in Palma ranges from about 5:27 PM in December to 9:20 PM in June, so the start time changes a lot by month.
Several suit families. The Brisa catamaran from Port d'Alcúdia lists canoes, paddleboards and a meal, and a reviewer of the EMBARK rental says the kids loved driving. SeaMallorcaTrips excludes children under 6, so check each listing. Life vests for children are listed on the Magic Catamarans trip.
All 17 listings offer cancellation up to 24 hours before the start for a full refund, according to their booking pages. That leaves time to rebook if the wind picks up. A few private operators add conditions, so check the fuel, deposit and port fee lines for your date before you pay.
