Yacht rental in Punta Cana, in my data, means a private boat with a captain and crew, not a boat you drive yourself. I found 2 yacht trips, at $330 and $650, and they sit in my full list of boat tours in Punta Cana next to a third private option, the sunset cruise. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.
My pick for yacht rental in Punta Cana is Liva Boat: $330 for 4 hours, rated 5.0 from 14 reviews, with reef snorkeling and a photographer. For an anniversary or a proposal I’d look at the romantic private yacht, $650 for 3 hours, which has no rating yet.

Yacht rental in Punta Cana costs far more than a seat on a shared catamaran, and the gap is the whole point. A seat on a shared catamaran is $58 to $84. The Liva Boat yacht is $330 and the romantic yacht is $650, which is about $83 and $217 an hour. I can’t tell from either listing whether the price is for the boat or per person, so I would confirm the maximum group size on the booking page before you divide the cost.
Both listings are priced with a crew. Liva Boat gives you snorkeling equipment, a cooler with ice and water, plastic utensils, a music system, a photographer, food, towels and photos. The romantic yacht lists a private yacht, captain, crew, snorkeling and equipment, and a coastline cruise with a stop at a natural pool or a beach. Professional photos or videos and gratuities are not included on the romantic yacht.
Boat rental in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and yacht rental in Punta Cana overlap as search terms, and both cover two products: a boat with a captain, and a self-drive boat. All the rentals in my data are the first kind. Google Maps also lists boat rental businesses in the area, such as FUN@SEA (4.9 from 137 reviews) and Cap Cana Charters (4.9 from 94 reviews), but I have not compared their prices or terms, and neither is in the booking-platform list I compared.
Because I found no self-drive listing, I will not state a licence rule for the Dominican Republic. If you see a rental that says no experience or no licence is needed, I would ask the operator in writing which skipper or licence rules apply and what the insurance covers. A captain, as on both the Liva Boat and romantic yacht listings, takes that question off the table.
A yacht charter in Punta Cana can start from different places, so a Punta Cana yacht rental is never just a price. The Liva Boat listing starts in Bavaro at Jellyfish Beach and ends at Marina Caribe Beach Club. Its route has a scenic drive of one hour, a cruise with swimming, snorkeling and dolphin watching for another hour, and a final 2-hour cruise with scenic views. The listed language is Spanish, so if you need an English-speaking crew, ask before booking.
The romantic yacht is run by Chute Em Up Parasail and lists English. It starts with a pickup in Punta Cana, then 30 minutes on the yacht, a short dolphin-watching stop at Dolphin Island Park, a half-hour break at the Jellyfish Restaurant and two further half-hour stops, a guided visit and lunch, before returning. Dolphin Island Park is 0.3 km from the Natural Pool in a straight line, and Google Maps rates it 3.1 from 284 reviews, so I treat it as a visit rather than a highlight.

A fair comparison for yacht rental in Punta Cana is the cost per hour of boat time, not the headline. Liva Boat works out at about $83 an hour, the romantic yacht at about $217, and the private sunset cruise at $345 for each of its 2 cruise hours, though that price also buys private hotel transport of roughly an hour each way. A shared catamaran such as Happy Fish costs $84 for 3.5 hours, or $24 an hour per person. For two people the Liva Boat yacht costs $165 each, which is about twice the catamaran seat but with no crowd, and for six people it falls to $55 each.
That arithmetic only works if the price covers the whole boat, which I could not confirm, so treat the numbers as a way to ask the right question rather than a quote. If the price turns out to be per person, the yacht is a luxury product, and the shared boats become the better value by a wide margin.
A boat charter in Punta Cana for fishing is a separate product, and I cover it on my fishing charter in Punta Cana page: the cheapest is $100 for 4 hours, and the boats are shared rather than private. If you want a private evening, the 2-hour sunset cruise from Punta Cana Activities by SN is $690, includes champagne, shrimp and lobster skewers and private hotel transport, and is rated 5.0 from one review. The sunset cruise in Punta Cana page covers it in more detail.
For a big group, a charter is often cheaper per person than a shared tour, but only if the boat is large enough. None of the three private listings states a maximum number of guests in the text I read, so I would not promise a number to friends before the operator confirms it.
A private Punta Cana yacht rental gives you control over the swim stops, but the weather decides the day. Both yacht listings offer free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund, and the Liva Boat listing lists people prone to seasickness as unsuitable. The romantic yacht lists no exclusions in the text, but I would still tell the crew about children or non-swimmers in advance.
For any yacht rental in Punta Cana, what I’d ask before paying, in order, is: how many people the price covers, what time the boat leaves and returns, whether fuel is included, what language the crew speaks, and where exactly the boat is waiting. The first two listings answer some of these, but the group size is the one missing from both. If you want a larger boat with food and drink and no private price, the catamaran tours in Punta Cana are the shared alternative, and snorkeling in Punta Cana covers the cheapest ways to get in the water.
Whichever yacht rental in Punta Cana you choose, read the exclusions and check the cancellation window. Whale watching from the Dominican Republic is a different kind of charter, and my whale watching page explains why it needs a full day. For the full list go back to every Punta Cana boat trip I compared, or to my home page.
In my list a private yacht costs $330 for 4 hours with Liva Boat, which works out at about $83 an hour, or $650 for 3 hours with the romantic yacht experience, about $217 an hour. A private sunset cruise with seafood and champagne is $690 for a 2-hour cruise. I can't tell how many guests each price covers.
Yes. The romantic yacht listing includes a private yacht, a captain and a crew, and the Liva Boat listing describes a guided trip with a photographer on board. I found no bareboat rental, where you drive yourself, in my data, so I can't tell you what licence that would need. Ask the operator.
Liva Boat lists snorkeling equipment, a cooler with ice and water, plastic utensils, a music system, a photographer, food, towels and photos. The romantic yacht lists the yacht, captain, crew, a 3-hour experience, snorkeling equipment, a coastline cruise and a natural pool or beach stop. Professional photos and tips are not included there.
Liva Boat starts in Bavaro, directly from Jellyfish Beach, according to its listing, and arrives back at Marina Caribe Beach Club. The romantic yacht listing says pickup in Punta Cana and mentions stops at Dolphin Island Park and Jellyfish Restaurant. Neither listing names a marina in Cap Cana.
Both yacht listings I compared offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, with a full refund, according to the booking platform. A charter is more sensitive to the sea than a big catamaran, so I would also ask the operator what happens if the weather is too rough on the day.
