Excursions Barcelona
Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona
4.9 (3,170) · from $95

Choosing a boat tour in Barcelona mostly comes down to the time of day and the size of the boat, because the harbour is busy and the light changes a lot between noon and sunset. I compared 18 trips on GetYourGuide, and they fall into clear groups: sunset catamarans, small sailing yachts with a drink, party boats, private yachts and two kayak day trips out to the Costa Brava. Prices on Barcelona boat tours run from $16 to $393 and ratings from 4.1 to 5.0.
My short answer: for a first evening at sea I’d book the Orsom sunset catamaran at $31. It lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, scores 4.7 from 3,574 reviews and has live jazz on board. If you want a smaller group, my pick is the SeaBarcelona sailing trip at $49, which holds 10 guests and scores 4.8. Every price, rating and duration below comes from the listings, checked in October 2026, and prices are in US dollars. The links to GetYourGuide are affiliate links, and I explain how that works on my about page.
Most Barcelona boat tours leave from one of three harbours within about 2.5 km of each other: Port Olimpic, Marina Port Vell and Marina Vela. From there the boats head out past the Barceloneta beaches and the W Hotel, with Montjuic hill and its castle on the other side of the port. The commercial harbour is run by the Port of Barcelona, so expect ferries and cargo ships on the horizon, while the pleasure boats stay close to the coast.
The top-rated card here is not a boat tour in Barcelona in the strict sense. The Excursions Barcelona Costa Brava trip costs $95 for 8 hours and scores 4.9 from 3,170 reviews. It is a day trip by air-conditioned bus, 75 minutes each way, to a stretch of coast roughly 100 km from the city, where you spend 2 to 3 hours kayaking and snorkelling and then eat a sandwich lunch. The listing says it is for swimmers only, and it meets near the Ciutadella Vila Olimpica and Marina metro stops.

Excursions Barcelona
My pick: The biggest day out: $95, 8 hours with bus, kayak, snorkel and lunch, 4.9 from 3,170 reviews. Swimmers only.
The second card is the opposite in every way. Among Barcelona boat tours, Barcelona Sailing offers a private daytime cruise on a 15-meter luxury yacht for $337 and 2 hours, and it scores 4.8 from 366 reviews. It meets at Port Olimpic, berth 1428, on a sailboat called Aruba, and includes a skipper, snacks, drinks, blankets and music. The route in the listing passes the Maremagnum shopping centre, the Columbus statue and Montjuic Castle before the boat leaves the port. For other private options see my private boat tour in Barcelona page.

Barcelona Sailing
My pick: The splurge: a private 15-meter yacht for $337, 2 hours, 4.8 from 366 reviews.
The classic boat tour in Barcelona is a sunset sail along the coast, and it is where most of the best-reviewed Barcelona boat tours are. The sun sets as early as 5:24 pm in December and as late as 9:28 pm in June, which I worked out from the city’s coordinates, so the same ticket feels very different by season. My sunset cruise in Barcelona page lists the time for every month.
The first card is the one I’d book if you want a relaxed trip with a view of the old waterfront. The Orsom catamaran is 78 feet long, costs $31 for 1.5 to 2 hours and scores 4.7 from 3,574 reviews. It meets at the end of Las Ramblas, about 100 meters opposite the Columbus monument, includes live jazz and a welcome drink, and has nets where you can lie 1 meter above the water. The listing says it is a round trip with no stops.

CATAMARAN ORSOM
My pick: My first-evening pick: $31, 78-foot catamaran, live jazz, 4.7 from 3,574 reviews.
The second card is a night out instead. The Original Barcelona Boat Party from Stoke Travel costs $58 for 2 hours on a catamaran with room for up to 100 guests, a resident DJ, four drink coupons and free guest-list entry to a beach club. It scores 4.1 from 445 reviews, the lowest rating in my set, so I’d pick it for the crowd and the price rather than for polish. Monday and Tuesday departures run on a smaller sailboat. More party options are on my party boat in Barcelona page.

Stoke Travel
My pick: The classic boat party: $58, 2 hours, DJ, drinks and beach club entry, 4.1 from 445 reviews.
If you want Barcelona boat cruises on a bigger deck with kids in mind, or just the cheapest boat tour in Barcelona, the Gray Line catamaran is the cheapest ticket in my data. Julia Travel Gray Line Spain sells a daytime or sunset cruise for $16, 1 hour, with 4.3 from 7,195 reviews, the most reviews of any trip here. The listing includes a Kids Corner, a contribution to a Mediterranean clean-up and live music on the sunset option only. Drinks and snacks cost extra, and it meets at the City Sailing Barcelona tickets office.

Julia Travel Gray Line Spain
My pick: The cheapest ticket: $16 for 1 hour, kids corner on board, 4.3 from 7,195 reviews.
At the other end of that scale is a private sailing trip. Barcelona Sailing Day charges $224 for up to 9 guests, and the duration is flexible, from 1 to 10 hours. It scores 5.0 from 116 reviews, and the listing includes unlimited beer, wine, soft drinks, water and snacks such as olives and fuet, a local sausage. It boards at Moll de la Marina, Port Olimpic, and the description says you might spot dolphins or turtles when the sea allows, which I’d treat as luck rather than a promise.

Barcelona Sailing Day
My pick: Private sailing for up to 9: $224, 1 to 10 hours, drinks and snacks unlimited, 5.0 from 116 reviews.
When people search for boat trip Barcelona reviews, the numbers worth reading are the rating and the count together. The two cards here are my strongest boat tours in Barcelona on that basis. Sail Experience Holiday offers a small-group sunset sailing trip with cava and snacks for $37, 2 hours, 4.9 from 2,316 reviews. The listing includes a skipper and crew, cava, beer, water, soft drinks and light snacks, lets you swim when conditions allow, and has a private option. It offers two meeting points depending on the option, and the first listed is Moll de Mestral, so read the booking page.

Sail Experience Holiday
My pick: Best reviewed small sailing trip: $37, 2 hours, cava and snacks, 4.9 from 2,316 reviews.
The second is the luxury private sunset yacht from Barcelona Sailing at $393 for up to 11 guests. It scores 4.8 from 78 reviews, which is a small sample, so I’d weigh it less than the 2,316 behind the sailing trip. It runs 2 hours, includes a welcome drink of cava or white wine, and leaves from the same berth as the daytime yacht. It is the priciest ticket in this guide, but with all 11 seats filled it works out at about $36 each.

Barcelona Sailing
My pick: The private sunset splurge: $393 for up to 11 guests, 2 hours, 4.8 from 78 reviews.
I get asked for a boat tour from Barcelona to the Costa Brava, and for Costa Brava boat tours in general, and I have to be honest: none of the trips I compared goes there by boat. The Costa Brava starts roughly 100 km up the coast, so the trips that reach it are 8-hour day trips by road, and the $95 Excursions Barcelona card above is one of them. Neither card below is a boat tour to the Costa Brava, but one is the closest match and the other is the city alternative.
The closest match is Barcelona Day Trip, a small-group kayak and snorkel trip led by a guide named Tim. It costs $89, lasts 8 hours and scores 4.9 from 607 reviews. The listing says he drives a van to the coast, the group is limited to eight, and the day includes about 3 hours of guided kayaking, snorkelling, a picnic lunch and optional cliff jumps. It meets near the Arc de Triomf, and the only language listed is English. The official Costa Brava tourism site covers the region itself.

Barcelona Day Trip
My pick: The small-group coast day trip: $89, 8 hours, max 8 guests, 4.9 from 607 reviews.
If you want to stay in the city, LONET runs a 2-hour kayak and snorkel tour from Barceloneta Beach for $90, scoring 4.9 from 90 reviews. The listing includes a certified instructor, equipment, free underwater photos and a safety briefing, and says that in autumn, and whenever the sea requires it, you must wear a long-sleeve rash guard and long swim leggings. It gives no meeting point, so check the booking page. It is not a Costa Brava experience, but it is a lot less travel for the same kayak idea.

LONET
My pick: The in-city kayak option: $90, 2 hours from Barceloneta Beach, free underwater photos, 4.9 from 90 reviews.
Boat tours in Barcelona, Spain follow the same Mediterranean rules as the rest of the country, and one of them changed recently. SeaBarcelona is the plain sailing choice at $49: a yacht of up to 10 guests with a professional skipper, an open bar of cava, white wine, beer and soft drinks, and vegan and vegetarian snacks. It scores 4.8 from 2,701 reviews, offers midday and sunset departures and leaves from Marina Port Vell. Arrive 15 minutes early, because the listing says late arrivals cannot be refunded or rescheduled.

SeaBarcelona
My pick: The open-bar yacht for 10: $49, 2 hours, 4.8 from 2,701 reviews, leaves from Marina Port Vell.
The second card is a small private motorboat. Seaesta charges $111 for a private trip of 1 to 2 hours for up to 4 guests plus a skipper, in a 5-meter open boat with fuel, insurance and life jackets included. It scores 4.7 from 59 reviews and leaves from Port Forum. The listing calls this a license-free rental. Be careful with that phrase: Spain changed the rule from 1 October 2026 with Real Decreto 1188/2025, which limits the licence-free exemption for small motorboats to private use and says a renter must hold the matching title. Ask Seaesta which licence or skipper option applies to your booking. This ticket includes a professional skipper. None of my 18 trips is a speed boat tour, and this open motorboat is the nearest thing to one.

Seaesta
My pick: The small private motorboat with skipper: $111, up to 4 guests, 4.7 from 59 reviews. Ask which licence rule applies.
A boat ride in Barcelona can be as short as an hour, and boat tours in Barcelona of that length are the easiest to fit in, and these three cards are the short, cheap or easy ones. This Is MED, run by Julia Travel Gray Line, sells a 2-hour catamaran ride with tapas, sangria and soft drinks for $30, with room for 30 guests and a 30-minute swim stop on the daytime option. It scores 4.5 from 3,542 reviews and meets at the Port Marina Vela office.

Julia Travel Gray Line Spain
My pick: The tapas catamaran: $30, 2 hours, drinks and tapas included, 4.5 from 3,542 reviews.
Ruta 40 Charters sells a private yacht or sailboat ride with a captain for $162, 1 to 2 hours and 4.9 from 34 reviews. It meets at gate 7 of Port Olimpic and the listing includes drinks, with a glass of cava, beer, soft drinks and water. A paella costs 45 euros extra per person, according to the listing.

Ruta 40 Charters
My pick: The private ride with captain: $162, 1 to 2 hours, drinks included, 4.9 from 34 reviews.
The shortest sunset option is Charter Low Cost Barcelona at $28 for 1 hour, with 4.9 from 1,751 reviews. The listing says daily sunset tours start from 19:00 and drinks include soft drinks, water and beer. It meets at gate 8 to 9, moorings 901 and 902, and keeps the group small. At $28, it is the cheapest highly rated sunset ticket I found.

Charter Low Cost Barcelona
My pick: The short budget sunset: $28, 1 hour, drinks included, 4.9 from 1,751 reviews.
For a Barcelona boat excursion with a little more polish, among the boat tours in Barcelona, Sphynx BCN sails a 52-foot Italian yacht from Marina Vela, next to the W Hotel. It costs $55 for 2 hours, scores 5.0 from 687 reviews and is shared by a maximum of 11 guests. The open bar covers cava, wine, beer, soft drinks and water, with snacks, and the listing says guests can swim when the conditions allow. It is the best value for the rating in my data. You can find more like it on my yacht charter in Barcelona page.

Sphynx BCN
My pick: Best value for a 5.0 rating: $55, 2 hours, 52-foot yacht, open bar, 687 reviews.
The second card is a full evening, not a cruise. The Golasha Experience combines a boat party with a nightlife tour, 6.5 hours for $95, and it includes four drinks, a live DJ, party games and a photographer. After the boat there is free time, then a 10:45 pm meeting in the city centre. It scores 5.0, but from only 8 reviews, so treat the rating with caution. It runs on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, according to the title.
Night tourGOLASHA EXPERIENCE, S.L.
My pick: The whole night out: $95, 6.5 hours, boat party plus nightlife tour, 5.0 from only 8 reviews.
If you want boat tours in Barcelona, Spain with a swim and a meal, the Catamaran Sensation cruise is the one to look at. It costs $56 for 3 hours, includes a swimming stop near Badalona, a BBQ lunch with grilled veal or veggie burgers, two beers or sangrias and unlimited soft drinks, and it scores 4.3 from 1,985 reviews. The listing offers departures at 11:00, 14:30 and 18:00. Do not enter the marina: the listing tells you to meet at the beach between Torre Mapfre and Hotel Arts instead.

Catamaran Sensation
My pick: Swim and BBQ: $56, 3 hours, food and two drinks included, 4.3 from 1,985 reviews.
Almost every boat tour in Barcelona follows the same stretch of coast, and Barcelona boat tours rarely go far. The boats leave the port, pass the Barceloneta beaches and the W Hotel, and swing back toward Montjuic Castle. From the water you can pick out the Olympic towers and the golden fish by Frank Gehry at Port Olimpic. The Sagrada Familia is inland, but the Barcelona Sailing yacht listing says you get a view of it from the sea.

Stops on the route
Distances on the water are short. Port Olimpic is about 1.3 km from Marina Port Vell and about 2.4 km from Marina Vela, measured in a straight line from the coordinates I have. Montjuic Castle is about 3.9 km from Port Olimpic and 2.6 km from Marina Port Vell. That is why even a 1-hour trip like the Gray Line catamaran covers the skyline from the sea.
The Barcelona boat tours cluster around three marinas, and the places below are the ones I’d use to orient yourself. Sights marked as stops appear in a listing’s route or itinerary.

Port Olimpic is the base for the private yachts, the Barcelona Sailing Day charters and the Catamaran Sensation cruise, so it carries the most boat tours in Barcelona. Marina Vela, next to the W Hotel, serves the Sphynx yacht and the This Is MED catamaran. Marina Port Vell is the SeaBarcelona base, and the Orsom catamaran leaves from the foot of Las Ramblas, about 0.9 km from Marina Port Vell. Port Forum is about 3.7 km north-east of Port Olimpic and is only used by the Seaesta motorboat.
This table of Barcelona boat tours is built from the same listings. Prices are the lowest in each group, and every type has its own page with the full comparison.
| Trip type | Price from | Typical duration | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunset cruise | $16 | 1 to 2 hours | Golden hour, couples, photos |
| Catamaran tour | $16 | 1 to 3 hours | Families, groups, a swim stop |
| Sailing trip | $28 | 1 to 10 hours | Small groups, drinks, a quieter pace |
| Party boat | $56 | 2 to 6.5 hours | Friends, birthdays, nightlife |
| Yacht charter | $55 | 1 to 2 hours | Couples, celebrations, premium comfort |
| Private boat tour | $111 | 1 to 10 hours | Families, proposals, your own schedule |
| Snorkeling tour | $89 | 2 to 8 hours | Active travellers who swim well |
For most visitors I recommend a sunset sail or catamaran, because the light does half the work. Book a snorkelling trip only if you are happy in open water, and book a party boat only if you want a dance floor.
Here is the list I’d use for any boat tour in Barcelona:
Whatever boat tour in Barcelona you choose, check the marina on the booking page, because Port Olimpic, Marina Vela, Marina Port Vell and Port Forum are different places up to 3.7 km apart, and arrive early where the listing asks for it. Every ticket allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. For other cities, start from the Harbour Advisor home page. Whichever boat tour in Barcelona you choose, I’d match it to your time, your group and your budget.

For a first evening on the water I'd book the Orsom sunset catamaran with live jazz. It costs $31, lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, scores 4.7 from 3,574 reviews and leaves from the foot of Las Ramblas. If you prefer a small boat, the SeaBarcelona sailing trip at $49 holds 10 guests and scores 4.8.
In my comparison, prices run from $16 for the one-hour Gray Line catamaran to $393 for a private sunset yacht for up to 11 people. Most shared sunset trips sit between $28 and $56. The Costa Brava kayak day trips cost $89 to $95. All prices are in US dollars.
Yes, on every trip I compared. All 18 GetYourGuide listings allow cancellation up to 24 hours before the start for a full refund. That includes the $16 catamaran, the $393 private yacht and the Costa Brava day trips, so you can wait for the weather forecast before you commit.
From several harbours. The Orsom catamaran leaves from the end of Las Ramblas near the Columbus monument. SeaBarcelona uses Marina Port Vell, the Sphynx yacht and the This Is MED catamaran use Marina Vela next to the W Hotel, and the private yachts use Port Olimpic. Check each booking page.
Not by boat. The two Costa Brava trips I compared are 8-hour day trips by road, about 100 km from the city, with 2 to 3 hours of kayaking and snorkelling. They cost $95 and $89, and the first one is for swimmers only. Both leave from central Barcelona.
Most are 1 to 2 hours. The Gray Line and Charter Low Cost sunset boats take 1 hour, the catamarans and sailing trips mostly take 2 hours, the catamaran party cruise takes 3 hours, and the private Sailing Day charter runs 1 to 10 hours. The Costa Brava trips take 8 hours.
Yes, several. Barcelona Sailing Day charges $224 for up to 9 guests, Ruta 40 Charters $162 for a yacht or sailboat with captain, and Barcelona Sailing $337 for a daytime yacht. Seaesta charges $111 for a small motorboat with a skipper. All are private groups and free to cancel 24 hours ahead.
