Nikorn Marine Company Limited
Game Fishing and Trolling Boat Trip with Lunch
4.0 (54) · from $116

A fishing charter in Phuket, on the three trips I compared, is a shared boat day to Racha Island with lines, lunch and a swim, and prices start at $101. None is a whole-boat private charter. For every boat trip I looked at, see my guide to boat tours in Phuket. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.
My pick is the Nikorn Marine game fishing and trolling trip at $116: 8 hours, a clear timetable from Ao Chalong Pier, gear and lunch included, rated 4.0 from 54 reviews. For a more relaxed day I’d take the Manta Marina Racha Island cruise at $104 (4.1 from 24 reviews). I haven’t fished from either boat, so I rely on the listings and review snippets.
A fishing charter in Phuket at these prices is a shared boat, so here are the three trips side by side.
| Trip | Operator | Price | Duration | Boat | Rating | Cancellation |

Nikorn Marine Company Limited
My pick: My pick: a clear timetable, gear, lunch and Racha Yai for $116. 4.0 from 54 reviews.

Manta Marina Co.,Ldt.
My pick: A relaxed Racha Island day with fishing, lunch and swimming: $104, 4.1 from 24 reviews.

Best Exotic
My pick: Fishing, crab traps and a spearfishing demo for $101, but 3.3 from just 3 reviews.
None of the listings names the vessel, so I can’t tell you the boat type or the number of guests. That matters for a shared trip, so ask the operator how many people are on board.
The Nikorn Marine day is the most structured. You meet at the company office at Ao Chalong Pier at 7:45 am, depart at 8:30 and troll toward Racha Yai, then fish with a spinning reel or hand line. A lunch buffet is served on board at 1:00 pm, and the fish you catch can be cooked on the boat. After optional time for swimming, the boat leaves Racha at 1:45 pm and arrives back at about 4:30 pm. Equipment, a local guide, soft drinks, fruit, a mask and snorkel, a life jacket and accident insurance are included.
The extras to budget for are the pickup fees. The listing says pickup at Laguna, Bang Tao, Surin, Kamala, Laem Hin, Kata, Kaew, Siray, Cape Panwa and Ao Yon costs an extra 250 baht per person, and the north of the island and the airport require a private van at 2,000 baht. A reviewer caught fish and enjoyed the tuna sashimi, and another said catches come and go, which is what I’d expect from fishing anywhere.
A fishing charter in Phuket costs $101 to $116 on these trips, so the spread is only $15. The cheapest per hour is the Best Exotic day at about $11 per hour for 9 hours, but its 3.3 from 3 reviews is too thin to rely on. Nikorn Marine is $14.50 per hour and Manta Marina $14.90, with better evidence behind them.
Compare that with the shared boat days elsewhere on my site: the Phang Nga Bay big boat is $47 and the Khai Islands snorkeling day $23, so fishing is the premium option here. If you only want to try it, check the pickup fee first, because 250 baht per person adds up for a group.
All three trips head to Racha Island, south of Phuket. Racha Yai is named in both the Nikorn Marine and Best Exotic listings. The Manta Marina itinerary lists deep sea fishing and marine life viewing for four hours, lunch on Racha Island for 1.5 hours and free time to swim, and the listing says you can fish, swim, snorkel or just relax. One reviewer said there was little fishing time, so ask how many hours of fishing you get.
Best Exotic is the odd one out. The listing mentions trolling and bottom fishing, checking crab traps, a spearfishing demonstration by the crew, a visit to Racha Yai Island, snorkeling and a seafood lunch. A reviewer said the fishing was great and the guides professional, but also that their English was limited and that going ashore on Racha Island turned out not to be possible, though the highlights had suggested it. If you speak Russian it may suit you better, since the listing offers Russian and English.
If you want the trip to include something for non-anglers, the Manta Marina cruise and the Best Exotic day both mix fishing with swimming and snorkeling, and the Nikorn Marine trip provides a mask and snorkel. For people who want snorkeling only, my snorkeling tour page compares the Khai and Similan trips, and the island hopping page lists the Racha Island cruise too.
Health and safety: the Best Exotic listing excludes pregnant women and wheelchair users. Life jackets are included on the Nikorn Marine trip, and Manta Marina includes travel insurance.
Fishing tours in Phuket are weather dependent, and the sea around Racha can be rough in the southwest monsoon, roughly May to October. The Thai Meteorological Department publishes marine forecasts at tmd.go.th. All three listings give a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start, which is the most protection you can get, but none says what happens if the operator cancels at sea, so ask by message.
For rules and permits on fishing in Thai waters, check with the operator, who holds the licences for the boat. The listings do not give any, and I would not guess.
People who search for entry requirements are asking about visas, not fishing, and none of my listings covers them. For official information on entering Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is the national tourism body, and your own government’s travel advice is the other source. Your boat operator will usually ask for your name and passport details only for insurance, and the listings do not say more.
I’d pick by evidence. Choose Nikorn Marine if you want a timetable and a documented fishing schedule, Manta Marina if you want a relaxed day with some fishing, and Best Exotic only if the language fits and you accept the thin reviews. Then check the pickup fee for your hotel. For the full list of trips, go back to boat tours in Phuket, and for the fishing charter in Phuket that best matches your group size, ask each operator how many guests share the boat.
The listings supply the gear: Nikorn Marine includes fishing equipment, and Manta Marina’s trip includes the cruise, snacks and drinks. So on a fishing charter in Phuket you need little beyond sun protection, a hat, a change of clothes for the swim and cash for tips and optional extras. Nikorn Marine lists tips as not included, and Best Exotic’s comfort option is mentioned as an upgrade in the listing.
Ask whether the boat has shade and a toilet, since neither is stated. A day at sea from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm is long, and motion sickness is common on small boats in a swell. Good Morning Holiday’s snorkeling trip supplies motion sickness medicine, but I did not see that on the fishing listings, so bring your own. For the shorter alternatives, see my yacht charter page.
A fishing charter in Phuket spends hours at sea waiting for a bite, so it suits patient people. If your group wants scenery, the Phang Nga Bay trips on the hub give far more to look at for less money. If half of you want to fish and the other half want a beach, Manta Marina’s mix of fishing, lunch on Racha Island and free swimming time is the compromise I’d pick.
Whichever fishing charter in Phuket you choose, book the date with free cancellation and message the operator about the weather the day before.
The three fishing trips I compared cost $101, $104 and $116 per person in US dollars, for 7 to 9 hours. The Nikorn Marine game fishing trip is $116, the Manta Marina Racha Island cruise $104 and the Best Exotic trip $101. These are shared trips priced per person, not whole-boat charters.
Yes on two of them. Nikorn Marine says the fish you catch can be cooked on the boat for the lunch buffet, and Best Exotic serves grilled fish, sashimi and tom yum made from your own catch. Manta Marina serves a lunch on board without mentioning the catch. A reviewer on the Nikorn trip called the tuna sashimi delicious.
Nikorn Marine meets at its office at Ao Chalong Pier at 7:45 am and departs at 8:30. The other two listings do not give a pier, only hotel pickup. Pickup from some beaches costs an extra 250 baht per person on the Nikorn and Manta Marina trips, so check your hotel against the list before you book.
