Dream Boats
Boat Rental to Anthony Quinn Bay, No License Needed
4.7 (65) · from $247

Boat rental in Rhodes means a small motorboat you steer yourself, usually along the east coast to Kallithea and Anthony Quinn Bay. I compared the three rentals on GetYourGuide, and for every other way onto the water see my guide to boat tours in Rhodes. Prices for a boat rental in Rhodes are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page. I haven’t been on any of these boats, so what follows comes from the listings and the review snippets.
My pick among boat rentals in Rhodes is the Gabriels Watersports rental at $202, rated 4.9 from 44 reviews, mostly because it is the cheapest and the review snippets are good. The Dream Boats rental at $247 (4.7 from 65 reviews) is the one I’d choose if you want a 2025 boat and a skipper option. These are small review counts, so I would treat the ratings as a first impression.
Boat rentals in Rhodes on this site come down to three offers that look alike, so the useful comparison is what each gives you for the money.
| Rental | Operator | Price | Duration | Rating | Start | Fuel |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Licence-free private rental | Gabriels Watersports | $202 | 2 to 7.5 hours | 4.9 (44) | Zephyros Beach | About 40 euros extra |
| Boat rental to Anthony Quinn Bay | Dream Boats | $247 | 4 hours | 4.7 (65) | New Marina | 50 euros cash extra |
| Self-drive rental | B Boat | $242 | 4 hours | none yet | New Marina | Listed as included |
Cancellation is the same on all three boat rentals in Rhodes: a full refund up to 24 hours before the start. Dream Boats works out at about $62 an hour and B Boat at about $61 for the 4 hours listed. Gabriels gives a range, so its hourly price depends on the option you select, and I’d check the price for the length you want.

Gabriels Watersports
My pick: The cheapest of the three at $202 and the best rated, 4.9 from 44 reviews. Fuel of about 40 euros is paid at the end.
The Gabriels trip includes the boat, a safety briefing, local information, a portable speaker, masks for everyone and a cool box with ice packs, but no food, drink or fuel. The stops it names are Kallithea, Anthony Quinn Bay, Ladiko Bay and the Traganou Caves. A reviewer wrote that you are monitored by GPS the whole time, which they found reassuring.
Boat rental in Rhodes is a better deal for a couple or a group than for a solo traveller, because the price is for the boat. The Dream Boats rental at $247 starts from the New Marina in Rhodes Town. The listing says the 2025 boat has a suntent, a music system, a ladder and a cool box, and it includes soft drinks, bottled water and snorkeling equipment on demand. Before you leave, the team explains the controls and the navigation routes, and the listing mentions a GPS tracker and staff on standby.
What a Rhodes boat rental does not include is the part that catches people. Fuel is a fixed 50 euros in cash, and a skipper costs another 50 euros for 4 hours. One reviewer says they did not know about the fuel until they had booked. I’d budget about $300 all in for a 4-hour trip with fuel, which is roughly what four people would pay together for the $62 to $81 shared cruises. That is my arithmetic from the listing prices, and it only holds if the boat takes your whole group, which you should ask about.

Dream Boats
My pick: The newest boat of the three, a 2025 model, at $247 for 4 hours from the New Marina. A skipper adds 50 euros and fuel is 50 euros cash.
Boat rental in Rhodes is mostly a summer business on the east coast, and the listings do not say when it stops. None of the three gives a season end or a start date, so before booking late in October I’d email the operator and ask whether the boats still go out. Two of the reviews describe weather affecting the day: one operator moved a date, and the Rhodes Sea Lines listing shows how autumn changes even a ferry-style trip. For the Aegean forecast, the Hellenic National Meteorological Service is the official source.
The third rental is the one I’d be most careful with. B Boat charges $242 for 4 hours from the New Marina and the listing calls the boats brand new and the biggest licence-free boats, with a powerful engine, a sunbathing area, fresh-water shower, a phone with GPS and snorkeling gear. Its included list is contradictory, though: it says gasoline is included, food and refreshments appear in both the included and excluded lists, and it advertises both a 4-hour trip and an 8-hour day rental. It has no rating, and one of its two review snippets says the operator did not turn up. I’d only book it after the operator confirms the time, the duration and what is included in writing.

B BOAT O.E.
My pick: Brand-new boats with fuel listed as included, $242 for 4 hours, but no rating yet and a no-show complaint. Confirm everything first.
I did not find a yacht among the Rhodes rentals I compared. All three are small motorboats that seat a family or a group of friends, and none lists a crew or cabins. If you search for a yacht rental in Rhodes you will find private sailing operators on their own sites, but I have not compared them and I won’t guess at their prices. The nearest thing on this page is the Dream Boats skipper option, where an extra 50 euros for 4 hours puts a driver at the wheel of a rental boat. For a bigger vessel with a crew, the shared catamaran on my snorkeling tour page caps its group at 24 guests.
Rhodes boat rental offers on GetYourGuide stop at small motorboats. If your Rhodes yacht rental search is really about having the sea to yourselves, the three rentals here are the honest version of that. Each is a private boat for your group, not a seat on a shared one, so the bays are quiet when you choose the time. The Dream Boats and B Boat listings start from the New Marina, and Gabriels starts from Zephyros Beach, which is a different part of the coast. The Traganou Caves, a stop on the Gabriels route, are about 15.6 km in a straight line from Mandraki Harbour on the Maps coordinates I use, so the east-coast routes are long for a 2-hour hire. That is why I’d take the 4-hour options for the full run to Anthony Quinn Bay.
People search for boat rental in Rhodes with no licence because they want to drive themselves without a qualification, and all three listings say they offer exactly that. Dream Boats says the rental requires no licence, maritime certificate or prior experience. Gabriels says no licence is required. B Boat says no licence or previous experience is needed. A safety briefing comes first on each: the Gabriels listing mentions one, Dream Boats describes a step-by-step demonstration, and B Boat lists a 15-minute briefing.
That is what the operators claim, and I have not verified it against Greek rules, so I won’t tell you what the law says. Ask the operator, before paying, which boat you will be on, its engine power, the maximum number of passengers, how far you may go from the shore, and the minimum age of the driver. Then keep the answer. Reviewers describe the briefings as clear, and one said they sailed the bay as complete beginners, but a review is not a legal answer. For my full list of options see boat tours in Rhodes, including the shared cruises where someone else takes responsibility for the boat, and the island hopping page if you want a day to Symi instead of a rental.
The three boat rentals in Rhodes I compared cost $202 to $247 in US dollars. Gabriels Watersports is $202 for 2 to 7.5 hours, B Boat $242 for 4 hours and Dream Boats $247 for 4 hours. Fuel is extra on the first and last: about 40 euros at Gabriels and a fixed 50 euros cash at Dream Boats.
All three listings say no licence is needed, and each gives a safety briefing first. That is the operators' own claim. I have not checked it against Greek rules, so ask which boat you will get, its engine size and any limits on distance or passengers on your date, and get the answer in writing.
Dream Boats says a skipper can be added for 50 euros for 4 hours. The Gabriels listing is titled with an optional driver in its web address, but its price notes do not give a driver fee, so ask what it costs. The B Boat listing is self-drive only, based on what its page says.
Dream Boats and B Boat both start at the New Marina in Rhodes Town. Gabriels Watersports starts at Zephyros Beach, where the listing says it is the only watersports operator. The routes head along the east coast to Kallithea and Anthony Quinn Bay, so allow time to reach the pickup from your hotel.
It depends on the listing. Gabriels lists fuel as extra, calculated at the end of the trip and about 40 euros. Dream Boats lists a fixed 50 euros in cash. B Boat lists gasoline as included. One Dream Boats reviewer only learned about the fuel fee after booking, so read the price notes first.
All three listings offer a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start. A Dream Boats reviewer says the operator changed their date when the weather was poor. Ask each operator how it decides on the day, since the wind on the east coast is not something a booking page can promise.
