Boat Tours in Rhodes – Boat Tour with Snorkeling, Gourmet Buffet & Open Bar

Snorkeling in Rhodes is almost always done from a boat, because the clear coves on the east coast are easier to reach by water than from the road. I compared the three snorkeling boat trips on GetYourGuide, from a $62 small-group cruise to an $81 day with lunch and an open bar. For every boat I compared in the city, see my guide to boat tours in Rhodes. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.

My pick for snorkeling in Rhodes is the Adventure Rib cruise at $62, rated 4.8 from 521 reviews, if you want the most time in the water per dollar. If you would rather make a day of it, I’d take the Romantika day cruise at $81 (4.7 from 629 reviews). I haven’t been on any of these boats, so my picks rest on the listings and the review snippets.

Snorkeling Rhodes Greece

Snorkeling in Rhodes, Greece, is a boat trip first and a swim second, and the three trips on my list differ mostly in how long you spend afloat. The table compares them with the catamaran, which also includes gear.

Trip Operator Price Duration Rating Group
Snorkeling cruise to Anthony Quinn Bay and sea caves Adventure Rib Vip Cruises $62 2.5 hours 4.8 (521) Up to 9
Fishing trip with snorkelling and BBQ Skevos Fishing Trip $70 5 hours 4.8 (482) Not stated
Boat tour with snorkeling, buffet and open bar Romantika Day Cruise $81 6 hours 4.7 (629) Not stated
All-inclusive catamaran cruise Poseidon Submarine $67 6 hours 4.8 (2,560) Up to 24

All four offer a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start.

The Adventure Rib cruise heads to Anthony Quinn Bay, Ladiko, Traganou and the Alikies caves, with about 20 minutes at each stop. The listing includes snorkeling equipment, towels, life jackets, soft drinks, bottled cocktails and waterproof phone cases. It is a short trip, so I’d choose it if you want to see whether you like snorkeling in Rhodes before booking a long day.

Best Snorkeling Rhodes

For the best snorkeling in Rhodes, my data points to where the boats stop, not to a ranking of reefs. Anthony Quinn Bay is on every east-coast itinerary: Adventure Rib, Romantika, the Poseidon catamaran and both rentals. The listing for Adventure Rib calls the bay the place for marine life viewing, and Poseidon tells snorkelers to expect colourful fish. Beyond that I have no visibility or fish counts from an official source, so I would not rank one bay above another.

What I can compare is time in the water. Romantika stops at Kallithea Springs, Afandou Beach and Anthony Quinn Bay for about an hour each, with a buffet lunch at Afandou, and returns to Mandraki Port at 4:00 pm. The cost is $81, which includes an open bar with wine, beer and signature cocktails, and masks, noodles and swim aids. That makes it the best snorkeling tour in Rhodes for a long, social day, and the Adventure Rib cruise the better one for a short, quiet swim.

Rhodes Snorkeling Map

A Rhodes snorkeling map has to start at the harbour. Romantika boards at Mandraki, opposite the Bank of Greece, and the Adventure Rib boat is moored in the port next to the Stama restaurant, near a black bridge. The Skevos fishing boat uses Kolona Harbour. From there the stops run south down the east coast, and on the Maps coordinates the Traganou Caves lie about 15.6 km from Mandraki in a straight line.

The route I’d draw from the listings is this: Kallithea Springs first, then Afandou Beach, then Ladiko Bay and Anthony Quinn Bay. Romantika follows that order, and the infographic on my main page shows the same bays from the rental itinerary. Adventure Rib reverses it, going to Anthony Quinn Bay first, then Ladiko, Traganou and the Alikies caves. The Skevos trip is the odd one out: the listing says the destination, either Kallithea Springs, the quiet bay of Santa Marina or a shallow sandy beach, depends on the weather and sea conditions that day. For a trip you steer yourself, my boat rental page has the three licence-free options.

Is Rhodes Good for Snorkeling

I think it is, with limits. Every listing I read describes clear, turquoise water at the east-coast bays, and the Poseidon and Adventure Rib itineraries are built around swim and snorkel stops. That is operator marketing, though, and I have no independent water-quality or visibility figures for Rhodes. For the sea and wind on your day, the Hellenic National Meteorological Service publishes the forecast, and the weather is why the Skevos trip picks its bay on the morning.

Season is the other limit. No listing gives an end date, so if you are travelling at the end of October, ask the operator whether the small boats still run. The one calendar note I found is from a Symi cruise, which changes the order of its swim stop in late September and October, a reminder that autumn timetables differ from summer ones. A small boat, such as Adventure Rib, will feel the sea more than the catamaran, so I’d book a flexible date.

Rhodes Snorkeling Beach

Snorkeling beaches in Rhodes that the boats name are Anthony Quinn Bay, Ladiko, Traganou, Kallithea Springs, Afandou and, on the fishing trip, Santa Marina. Adventure Rib describes Traganou as a gravel beach with a rocky surface, clear water and hidden caverns, and says Anthony Quinn Bay is named after the actor who bought the area after filming The Guns of Navarone. The Poseidon catamaran does a swim and snorkel at three of them in a day: Ladiko Bay and Anthony Quinn Bay for about an hour each, then Kallithea Springs for 45 to 60 minutes, with a lunch buffet. Afandou is listed as an optional stop.

The Poseidon trip costs $67, is rated 4.8 from 2,560 reviews, caps the group at 24, and includes unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks. The listing says people with mobility impairments cannot take part. It is not one of the three trips in the cards, because it belongs with the catamaran cruises on my hub, but it belongs in any Rhodes snorkeling beach comparison.

Snorkeling Rhodes Fish

If your question is which fish you will see when snorkeling in Rhodes, I can only quote what the listings say, and they say little. Poseidon mentions colourful fish at Anthony Quinn Bay, and Adventure Rib lists marine life viewing and says to watch for dolphins on the way back, which are wild and not guaranteed. The Skevos fishing trip is a different kind of fish listing: it names the predators the crew target by trolling, which include small tuna, mahi mahi, amberjack, barracuda, trumpetfish and great trevally.

After about two hours of ground fishing, the crew anchors in a quiet bay for swimming and snorkelling and grills the catch with fresh gold seabream and sea bass for lunch. The price of $70 includes fishing gear, bait, unlimited beer and soft drinks, wifi and a toilet. Pregnant women and wheelchair users cannot join, according to the listing. For island days instead of reef days, see my island hopping page, and for every option I compared, the guide to snorkeling and other boat tours in Rhodes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best snorkeling tour in Rhodes?

For a short, focused trip I'd book the Adventure Rib cruise at $62: 4.8 from 521 reviews, groups of up to 9 and about 20 minutes in the water at each of four stops. For a long day with lunch and an open bar I'd take the Romantika cruise at $81, rated 4.7 from 629 reviews. Both include snorkeling equipment.

How much does snorkeling in Rhodes cost?

The three snorkeling boat trips on my list cost $62 to $81 in US dollars: Adventure Rib $62, Skevos fishing and snorkeling $70, Romantika $81. The Poseidon catamaran at $67 also includes gear. Hiring a boat is the other route, at $202 to $247 for the whole boat, with snorkeling gear included or on request.

Where does snorkeling in Rhodes happen on a boat tour?

On the east coast south of Rhodes Town. The listings name Anthony Quinn Bay, Ladiko, Traganou, Kallithea Springs and Afandou Beach, plus Alikies caves on the Adventure Rib trip. The fishing trip picks Kallithea Springs, Santa Marina bay or a sandy beach depending on the weather that day, so its stop is not fixed.

Is snorkeling equipment included on Rhodes boat trips?

Yes on every snorkeling trip I compared. Adventure Rib lists snorkeling equipment and towels, Romantika masks, noodles and swim aids, Skevos snorkelling equipment, and the Poseidon catamaran snorkeling equipment and life jackets. On the Dream Boats rental the listing says gear is provided on demand, so ask for it.

Are there fish to see when snorkeling in Rhodes?

The Poseidon listing promises colourful fish at Anthony Quinn Bay, and the Adventure Rib listing mentions marine life viewing there and dolphins on the way back, though wild animals cannot be guaranteed. The fishing trip names the species it targets with a line, such as small tuna and barracuda. None of the listings gives a species list for snorkelers.

Can beginners join a snorkeling trip in Rhodes?

Romantika lists swim aids and pool noodles, and the Poseidon catamaran floating noodles and life jackets. Adventure Rib lists life jackets and an experienced captain with groups of up to 9. None of the listings gives a minimum age or swimming requirement, so tell the crew how confident you are in open water and ask about children.
