Adventure Dalmatia - Dubrovnik
Sea Kayaking&Snorkelling Guided Day/Sunset Tours
4.9 (4,491) · from $28

A sunset cruise in Dubrovnik is worth planning around, because the city walls turn gold at the end of the day and the water goes quiet. I compared three evening options on GetYourGuide: the Sea Heart of Dubrovnik boat at $11, the Adventure Dalmatia sunset kayak tour at $28 and the Karaka ship at $57. Between them they cover a short and cheap ride, a paddle and a proper evening on a tall ship. For all 15 trips, see my page on boat tours in Dubrovnik. Prices are in US dollars and come from the listings, checked in October 2026.
The simplest Dubrovnik sunset cruise is the Sea Heart of Dubrovnik romantic cruise. It is a 1-hour shared boat from the small pier in the Old Town port, with a professional skipper, fuel and tips included, and it costs $11. It scores 4.8 from 711 reviews and is the cheapest ticket of all 15 trips I compared. The listing talks about the changing colours of the sky, an open-air deck and views of the Old Town, the city walls and the coast.

Sea Heart Of Dubrovnik
My pick: The budget sunset: $11, one hour, a shared boat from the Old Port, 4.8 from 711 reviews.
The data does not list a stops sequence for this tour, so I cannot tell you how far it goes. It is a one-hour ride, so expect a loop close to the walls. Cheap and short means little time to move around, and the listing does not mention drinks, so bring a bottle of water.
For a sunset sail, the Karaka is the nearest thing in Dubrovnik. It is a replica of the Dubrovnik Republic’s most important merchant ship, and the listing calls it a five-star ship. The 90-minute cruise costs $57, scores 4.8 from 865 reviews and meets at the Old Town port, Na ponti. A welcome glass of sparkling wine and a host on board are included, with relaxing music, local delicacies and stories about the region’s maritime history. The itinerary lists a single guided cruise along the Old Town.
Night tourKaraka Dubrovnik
My pick: The tall-ship sunset: $57 for 90 minutes, sparkling wine and a host, 4.8 from 865 reviews, adults only.
Karaka is adults only. The listing excludes children under 16, and wheelchair users are not accommodated. One customer review quoted in the listing describes it as peaceful and luxurious, with quiet jazz and classical music. That is one guest’s view, and I haven’t sailed on it myself.
If you want an active Dubrovnik sunset cruise, the Adventure Dalmatia kayak tour sells guided day and sunset slots on the same listing. It costs $28, takes 2 hours and scores 4.9 from 4,491 reviews. The route passes the walls of the Old Town, stops at Betina Cave for a swim and snorkel, and looks across at Lokrum. Kayak, paddles, life jackets, snorkeling gear, a waterproof bag, water, a guide and insurance are included. It meets through the park under Pile Gate or at the pier next to restaurant Orhan.

My pick: Paddle at golden hour: $28 for 2 hours, 4.9 from 4,491 reviews, sunset slot on the booking page.
If you prefer a kayak but not at night, see my kayak tour page. The sunset slot is the only one of the three where you are physically in the water, so the late-season water and air temperatures matter more here than on the ships.

I calculated sunset on the 15th of each month for 2026 from the city’s coordinates, in local time. The clocks change on 25 October, and the summer times already include the change on 29 March.
| Month | Sunset | Month | Sunset |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | 4:40 pm | July | 8:25 pm |
| February | 5:20 pm | August | 7:51 pm |
| March | 5:55 pm | September | 6:59 pm |
| April | 7:30 pm | October | 6:07 pm |
| May | 8:04 pm | November | 4:26 pm |
| June | 8:28 pm | December | 4:16 pm |
The spread is more than four hours between June and December, so the same 90-minute cruise is a late dinner-hour trip in summer and an early-evening trip in winter. On the listings, you choose the time on the booking page, and I cannot see the schedule from my data. Pick a start about 45 to 60 minutes before the sunset time for the month, so you see the light change.
None of the 15 trips is a dinner cruise, and I will not pretend otherwise. If a meal is part of your plan, the nearest thing is the welcome sparkling wine and local delicacies on Karaka. For a private sunset cruise in Dubrovnik, HUGO offers a 2-hour sunset tour as one of its options, described as a romantic evening cruise along the coast. It starts at $223 for the boat and is rated 5.0 from 295 reviews. Details and fuel costs for the other private boats are on my private boat tour page.
Many sunset cruises in Dubrovnik slow down in late October. None of the three listings gives an end date for its season, so I cannot tell you which will run in November. The Old Town Kayaking listing mentions cooler days in April and October, which tells me kayak tours run in October. Sunset falls at 6:07 pm in mid-October and 4:26 pm in mid-November, so in the cooler months the cruise ends in the dark. Bring a jacket, since sea air cools quickly after sunset, and check the availability calendar for your date before you plan anything around it.
A Dubrovnik sunset cruise is short, and that is part of its charm. The boat leaves the Old Port, turns along the walls and gives you the stone in warm light, with Lokrum island dark against the sky. Nobody promises a particular colour, because the sky decides, and I will not promise one either. Take the cruise on a clear evening if you can: each listing allows a full refund up to 24 hours before the start, so you can watch the forecast and move the booking.
Where you sit matters on a boat tour at dusk. On Karaka the host and the sparkling wine come with the ticket, and the ship carries a limited number of guests, which the listing does not give, so book early in high season. On the Sea Heart boat the deck is open air, so the view is wide but there is little shelter. On a kayak you are at water level, which gives the best angle on the walls, and the guide handles the route.
Photographers should note that the light changes fast in the last 30 minutes before sunset. Sunset cruises in Dubrovnik usually start 45 to 90 minutes before sunset, so you see the golden hour and the colours afterwards. In winter months, when sunset is near 4:16 pm, an afternoon departure is the sunset cruise, and a booking page that shows only evening slots may mean the trip does not run at that time of year.
Think about the practical side too. The Old Port is a short walk from the Old Town, so a sunset cruise in Dubrovnik pairs well with an early dinner afterwards. Karaka and Sea Heart both start from the harbour, and the kayak tour starts at Pile Gate on the other side of the walls, so allow ten minutes if you plan to combine two of them in one evening. Bring a light layer for the way back.
The old harbour is where two of the three begin, so walk there early and look at the water. If you would rather combine caves with a swim before dusk, my snorkeling tour page compares the day options, and the boat rental page explains why I would not drive a rental boat home in the dark. For other cities, start from the Harbour Advisor home page. To compare every trip, go back to boat tours in Dubrovnik. Whichever sunset cruise in Dubrovnik you book, I’d arrive 15 minutes early and bring a layer.
In my comparison, three sunset trips cost $11 to $57. The Sea Heart of Dubrovnik shared boat is $11 for 1 hour, the Adventure Dalmatia sunset kayak tour is $28 for 2 hours and the Karaka ship is $57 for 90 minutes. A private sunset boat with HUGO is also possible. All prices are in US dollars.
It depends on the month. I calculated sunset on the 15th of each month from the city's coordinates: about 8:28 pm in June, 7:51 pm in August, 6:59 pm in September, 6:07 pm in mid-October, 4:26 pm in November and 4:16 pm in December. The clocks change on 25 October, so check the departure time on the booking page.
Karaka meets at the Old Town port, Na ponti. Sea Heart of Dubrovnik starts from the small pier in the Old Town port. Adventure Dalmatia meets through the park under Pile Gate, or at the pier next to restaurant Orhan, then round the wall to the beach with the kayaks. Check each booking page.
I think so for adults. It scores 4.8 from 865 reviews, costs $57 for 90 minutes, includes a welcome glass of sparkling wine and a host, and runs on a replica of a merchant ship of the Dubrovnik Republic. Children under 16 and wheelchair users are not allowed, so it is not a family trip.
Not in my data. None of the 15 boat trips I compared is a seated dinner cruise. Karaka offers sparkling wine and the listing mentions local delicacies, and the island cruises serve lunch, not dinner. If you want a meal on the water, ask the operators directly or look at a restaurant in the Old Port.
Yes. Adventure Dalmatia sells guided day and sunset tours on one listing at $28, rated 4.9 from 4,491 reviews. The tour takes 2 hours and includes a kayak, life jackets, snorkeling gear and a guide. Pick the sunset slot on the booking page and be ready to paddle back before it gets dark.
