Boat Tours Miami – Miami Guided Private Boat Charter: Cruise, Swim & Explore

Private boat tour Miami listings are where the best-reviewed boats are: the MYA Boat Charters tour has 5.0 from 377 reviews, and Ocean Sunrise has 4.9 from 219. I compared five private boats on GetYourGuide, from $99 to $255, and worked out what a two-hour trip really costs once captain and fuel fees are added. For the wider list of boats, see my guide to boat tours in Miami. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.

My pick for a private boat tour in Miami is the MYA Boat Charters guided private charter at $224. It combines the best rating with the largest number of reviews, offers 2, 3, 4 or 5 hours and includes towels, a floating mat, a Bluetooth sound system, an onboard restroom and life jackets. Captain and fuel are extra, so a two-hour trip is about $374 by my sum.

Private Boat Ride Miami

A private boat tour in Miami is a loop that you set up with the captain. All five listings follow the same skeleton: the Miami River, the Downtown and Brickell skyline, Bayside Marketplace, the Venetian islands, Star Island and sometimes the Port of Miami and Fisher Island. The longer you book, the further you go, and the options for 3 hours and over add a swim or anchoring stop.

The MYA listing is the clearest about the route: Miami River, Downtown Miami, Bayside Marketplace, San Marco Island, Di Lido Island, Hibiscus Island, Palm Island, Star Island, Fisher Island and the Port of Miami, then back to the river. Reviewers name their captains and say they were friendly and knowledgeable, and one calls it the top experience of their Miami trip. The listing says your personalised meeting point arrives the day before once the captain is confirmed.

Private Yacht Miami Rental

A private yacht in Miami on rent is a notch above a boat, and two of the five qualify. The 37ft Rinker Fiesta Vee from PARTY ON THE SEAS LLC takes up to 12 guests and has a cabin, a bathroom, air conditioning, a TV and a microwave. It costs $215 and is rated 4.8 from 162 reviews. The captain is $50 per hour and fuel $50 per trip, so a two-hour trip comes to about $365.

Bruschi Boat Rental offers two Sundancer yachts for 10 and 12 people at $125 for two hours, rated 4.7 from 227 reviews. With a captain at $45 per hour and a fuel fee of $50, that trip is about $265. It is BYOB with a cooler and ice. I’d put the 37ft yacht first for comfort and Bruschi first for price. My yacht charter page goes deeper on the three crewed yachts.

Private Boat Charter Miami

A Miami private boat tour with a bit more service is the Ocean Sunrise Exclusive Private Boat Guided Tour. It costs $255 and takes up to 12 passengers, with options from a 2-hour sightseeing trip to a 4-hour half-day. The 3-hour option adds beach time, and the longer ones are pitched at birthdays and bachelorette parties, with anchoring next to other boats and jet skis available on request. It departs from DKR Marine at 961 NW 7th St.

Rated 4.9 from 219 reviews, it is the second-best reviewed boat on this page. The catch is the fee structure: the captain is $50 per hour and fuel $50 per tour, paid separately at the marina, which puts a two-hour trip near $405. If you have a group of ten, that is about $40 each, which compares well with a shared cruise.

Private Yacht Miami

Private boat tours in Miami, and yachts in particular, usually get their price from the people you split it with. The two yachts on this page, both for 10 to 12 guests, come to about $265 and $365 for two hours by my sums, which is about $22 to $30 per person for a full group of 12. That is cheaper than most shared cruises on my guide, and it is private, but you bring the drinks, the playlist and the food.

The trade-off is the number of unknowns. Neither yacht lists an exact departure time in my data, and both say the captain is paid separately. I’d ask for the total in writing, including the captain, fuel, docking and any gratuity, and I’d confirm the marina the day before.

Private Yacht Tour Miami

A private yacht tour in Miami with a stewardess and a theme is the pink yacht from Miami Elite Jetski Rentals, which I cover on my yacht page. It isn’t in this comparison because its extras are much steeper: crew at $100 per hour, a $100 fuel surcharge and a $100 docking fee on top of the $120 base. I’d treat it as a party boat for celebrations, not a sightseeing one.

For a tour, the customizable private rental from Miami Beach Boat Rental Deal is the other candidate: $99 for 2 to 6 hours, with options named by length and a list of places to sightsee including Key Biscayne, the observation wheel, Monument Island and Marine Stadium. It has no rating, adds a captain at $50 per hour, fuel at $50 and a $20 boarding fee per person, and says a boater’s license is required if you were born after Jan 1, 1988 and want to drive. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission explains that rule on its boating safety page.

Miami Boat Tours Private

A Miami private boat tour is best for groups, and the numbers say when. For two people, a private boat at about $265 to $405 is more than twice the price of the $30 and $59 shared sunset cruises on my sunset cruise page. For six, it is about $44 to $68 each, and for ten, about $27 to $41 each, which beats most of the shared boats.

So the rule I use is simple: private makes sense from about five people. Below that, a shared cruise gives you the skyline for less than a private boat tour in Miami would. Above it, the private boat gives you the playlist, the stops and the privacy. If you would like to drive yourself instead of using a captain, my boat rental page covers that, and my party boat page covers the ticketed alternative.

Before You Book a Private Boat

Four checks save most of the surprises on a private boat tour in Miami. First, ask for the total including the captain, fuel and any docking or boarding fee. Second, ask which marina you will use and how long the walk from parking is; the Bruschi listing, for example, mentions street parking a 4-minute walk away. Third, ask what happens if the weather turns, since all five listings promise free cancellation only up to 24 hours before the start. Fourth, tell the captain the route you want, because the stops depend on the hours you book.

Group size and mood matter too. A private boat holds up to 10 or 12 in most listings, which is a lot of people in one cabin, so tell the operator if you have children or guests who dislike bumpy water. Wheelchair users are listed as not suited to several of the boats, and pregnant women and people with back problems are named on others, so read the exclusions on the booking page before inviting everyone.

How I’d Choose a Private Boat Tour in Miami

For most groups looking at private boat tours in Miami, I’d book the MYA charter. For the lowest reviewed price I’d take Bruschi. For the most comfortable boat I’d take the 37ft Rinker, and for a very large party I’d consider Ocean Sunrise or the yachts at 12 guests.

Whichever private boat tour in Miami you choose, ask for the full total, confirm the marina and the time, and decide the route before you board. When you’ve chosen, compare it with the rest in my guide to boat tours in Miami or go back to the Harbour Advisor home page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a private boat tour in Miami cost?

The five private boats I compared are listed from $99 to $255 on GetYourGuide, but captain and fuel fees come on top. My two-hour estimates run from about $249 for the customizable rental to $405 for the Ocean Sunrise tour, before the customizable boat's $20 per person boarding fee. The listings do not state a total, so these are my sums.

How many people fit on a private boat tour in Miami?

Ocean Sunrise Boat Charters takes up to 12 passengers, the 37ft Rinker takes up to 12, and Bruschi offers yachts for 10 and 12. The customizable private rental describes a family-size boat for roughly 10 guests. The MYA charter does not state a capacity in the data I have, so ask before booking a large group.

What is the best private boat tour in Miami?

On the numbers, the MYA Boat Charters guided private charter: $224, rated 5.0 from 377 reviews, 2 to 5 hours, English and Spanish. The Ocean Sunrise tour follows at 4.9 from 219 reviews. The cheapest, the customizable rental at $99, has no rating yet, so I'd start with one of the two reviewed ones.

Yes on all five. The MYA charter provides a cooler with ice, bottled water and cups, Ocean Sunrise a cooler, water and ice, Bruschi a cooler and ice, and the others a cooler with ice as well. Several listings are sold as BYOB, so bring what you want to drink and plan your own food.

Where do private boat tours leave from in Miami?

Ocean Sunrise departs from DKR Marine at 961 NW 7th St, and the 37ft yacht from 2151 NW 12th St, both on the Miami River. MYA shares a personalised meeting point the day before, and Bruschi's captain meets you inside the marina. All of them need you to check your confirmation email for the final detail.
