Cancun Boat Trips – Private Yacht Tour

A yacht rental in Cancun is the private option: you pay for the boat and share it with your own group. I compared three yachts, all from the same operator, Cancun yachts rental, with prices from $314 to $510 for the whole boat. For the full range of trips, from $29 snorkel days to party cruises, see my guide to boat tours in Cancun. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.

My pick for a yacht rental in Cancun is the Private Yacht Tour at $314: 2 to 6 hours, rated 4.6 from 16 reviews, which makes it the best-proven of the three. For a big group I’d look at the $411 yacht for up to 14 guests, because it works out at about $29 per person when full.

Private Yacht Rental Cancun Mexico

Private yacht rental in Cancun, Mexico is priced per boat, so the right comparison is price per head. Here is that comparison, built from the three listings.

Compared: Cancun Yacht Rentals

Operator Price Duration Boat type Rating Cancellation
Cancun yachts rental (Private Yacht Tour) $314 2 to 6 hours Private yacht 4.6 (16 reviews) Free up to 24 hours
Cancun yachts rental (Luxury Yacht Cruise) $411 2 to 6 hours Luxury yacht, up to 14 guests 4.4 (4 reviews) Free up to 24 hours
Cancun yachts rental (46-Feet Flybridge) $510 2 to 6 hours 46-foot flybridge yacht 4.7 (4 reviews) Free up to 24 hours

The three share a pattern. Each offers a short cruise of the bay and the lagoon, or a longer run to Isla Mujeres with snorkeling, and the 2 to 6 hour range in the listing is the length you pick at checkout. Two of them have only 4 reviews, so the ratings tell you little. What does the work here is the included list, which I read line by line.

Yacht Rental Cancun with Chef

None of the three listings mentions a chef or a crewed meal, and I will not invent one. All three exclude food, and the $411 yacht also excludes towels and alcoholic beverages. If a chef matters to you, send a message to the operator before booking and ask in writing. In the meantime, the simplest plan is to bring food aboard yourself: the listings include bottled water, regular Coca Cola and ice, which covers the basics of a half-day trip.

Yacht Rental Cancun All Inclusive

The word all inclusive does not apply to any of these three. The $314 Private Yacht Tour is the closest, because its price includes the yacht, bottled water, 4 liters of Coca Cola, ice, snorkeling gear and the $13-per-person docking fee. Food, hotel pickup and tips are extra. The $510 flybridge adds a snorkeling instructor and hotel pickup and drop-off to that list. The $411 luxury yacht excludes the dock fee, so you add $13 per person: for 14 guests, that is $182, which pushes the real cost to about $593.

If you want drinks included in the price on a shared boat instead, the catamaran days from $35 list an open bar. My page on a catamaran tour in Cancun compares them, and the party boat page covers the all-you-can-drink cruises.

Boat Rental Cancun to Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres is the destination on every longer option. The flybridge listing names the route as the Nichupte Lagoon, Punta Cancun and Isla Mujeres, with 3 drop-off locations, and the luxury yacht names the same stops and adds a swim at Playa Norte on the 6-hour tour. The island is roughly 10 kilometers from the Hotel Zone marinas in a straight line, by my measurement from Marina Las Perlas to Punta Sur in the place data, which is why the listings suggest 4 to 6 hours for the island option.

A 2-hour tour keeps you in the bay, among the Hotel Zone towers and the lagoon. For a first-time visit, I’d pay for the longer slot, because the transfer to Isla Mujeres eats most of the shorter one. For the island by shared boat, see the snorkeling tour page, which includes the catamarans that stop at a reef on the way.

Yacht Rental Cancun to Isla Mujeres

The boarding points matter more than people expect. The $510 flybridge and the $411 luxury yacht both meet at the Marina Sunset side of the Hotel Zone, at kilometer 5.8 of Kukulcan Boulevard, next to the Krudos restaurant, at a palapa with a yellow scuba tank on top. The $314 Private Yacht Tour has two meeting points, and which one applies depends on the option you select, so read the confirmation message.

Both of the bigger yachts list a snorkeling kit, and the flybridge adds an instructor. Neither lists a guaranteed sighting of anything, and I would not expect one. The Mexican protected areas agency, CONANP, manages the marine park around Isla Mujeres and Punta Cancun, so follow the crew’s rules about anchoring and touching coral. For a quieter way to see the lagoon, the sunset cruise page lists a kayak and a paddleboard trip. If you prefer an activity in the air, sailing in Cancun covers parasailing.

What a Cancun Yacht Rental Costs Per Person

Because the price is per boat, the group size decides everything. At $314, a party of four pays about $79 each and a party of six about $52, before food and tips. The $411 yacht takes up to 14 guests: eight people pay about $51 each, and a full boat of 14 pays about $29 each, plus the $13 dock fee on top. That makes a full yacht cheaper per head than the $35 catamaran once its $20 port fee is added, though you give up the open bar and the beach club.

The cheapest total is not always the best one. A private boat lets you choose the music, the stops and the pace, and it does not depend on a crowd. It also costs more if only two of you are going: the $510 flybridge works out at $255 each for a pair. For two people, I would usually look at the shared options on my page about boat tours in Cancun first and keep the yacht for a birthday or a group of friends.

One more habit I recommend for any yacht rental in Cancun: message the operator after booking and confirm the start time, the meeting point and which of the 2 to 6 hour options you chose. The listings give no fixed departure times, so the slot is agreed with the operator, and the Private Yacht Tour has two possible meeting points. A short note now saves a stressful search for the right palapa on the day.

Which Yacht I’d Book

For a couple or a group of four, I’d book the $314 Private Yacht Tour for the longest slot I could afford. For eight or more guests, the $411 yacht for up to 14 is the one to price out, since the cost per head falls fast. For a celebration where an instructor and hotel pickup matter, I’d pay the $510. For every other private boat I found, go back to my list of boat tours in Cancun or to the home page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a yacht rental in Cancun cost?

The three private yachts I compared cost $314 for a 2 to 6 hour private yacht tour, $411 for a luxury yacht for up to 14 guests and $510 for a 46-foot flybridge yacht. The price is for the whole boat, not per person, and the $13-per-person docking fee is included on two of the three.

Is food included on a Cancun yacht rental?

No. All three listings include drinking water and regular Coca Cola or soda with ice, and they exclude food. The two Cancun yachts rental listings that mention alcohol exclude it as well. I'd bring a cooler or order food in advance with the operator, and I'd ask what the boat allows before packing drinks.

Can a Cancun yacht rental go to Isla Mujeres?

Yes. All three yacht listings offer a short bay cruise or a longer 4 to 6 hour option that reaches Isla Mujeres with snorkeling. The luxury yacht for up to 14 guests adds a swim at Playa Norte on the 6-hour tour, and the flybridge route lists the Nichupte Lagoon, Punta Cancun and Isla Mujeres.

Where do the yachts leave from in Cancun?

The 46-foot flybridge meets at Marina Sunset on Kukulcan Boulevard at kilometer 5.8, next to the Krudos restaurant, at a palapa with a yellow scuba tank on top. The luxury yacht for 14 guests uses the same entrance and the Sunset Admiral Yacht Club and Marina. The Private Yacht Tour has two meeting points depending on the option.

Can I cancel a yacht rental in Cancun?

All three list free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start for a full refund. With a private boat the price is high, so I'd confirm the time, the meeting point and the weather policy by message with the operator after booking, and I'd not wait until the last day to do it.
