BAJA SNORKEL
Los Cabos Arch & Lover’s Beach Tour + Snorkeling Tour
4.9 (365) · from $51

Choosing a boat tour in Cabo San Lucas mostly means choosing between four things: two hours of rock arches and snorkeling at Land’s End, a whale trip, a sunset on the Pacific, and a private boat for your own group. I compared all 16 trips that you can book on GetYourGuide right now, from a $40 yacht ride to Lover’s Beach to a $600 private sailing boat. Everything below comes from the operators’ own listings: prices, ratings, durations, meeting points and what is included. I haven’t been on these boats myself, so my picks rest on the data and on what reviewers wrote.
My short answer for a first boat tour in Cabo San Lucas: I’d book the Baja Snorkel Arch and Lover’s Beach tour at $51, because 365 guests rate it 4.9 and it takes you past the Arch, Lover’s Beach and the sea lion colony with an hour in the water at Pelican Rock. For something more comfortable I’d take the shared sunset sail from Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures at $84. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.
Boat tours in Cabo San Lucas nearly all share one core route, whichever trip you pick: you leave the marina, pass Land’s End where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez, and stop for photos at the Arch, the rock formation the town is known for. After that, Cabo San Lucas boat tours split into snorkeling at Pelican Rock, whale watching in the open water, or a slow sunset sail. The town and its landmark are described on Wikipedia, including the winter whales.
The best-reviewed trip in the whole list is the Baja Snorkel tour. It costs $51, lasts 2 hours and is rated 4.9 from 365 reviews. The itinerary gives a five-minute water taxi from the dock, a 30-minute guided tour of Land’s End, one hour of snorkeling at Pelican Rock and a 10-minute photo stop at the Arch. Snorkel gear, a life jacket, sodas and water are included, and reviewers name the two guides, Luis and Alex, and say one of them checked on swimmers during the snorkel. For something with more theatre, the Wild Cabo pirate ship sunset cruise costs $99, runs 2 hours and has a live show and a BBQ dinner, rated 4.4 from 59 reviews on this listing.

My pick: My first pick: $51 for two hours, 4.9 from 365 reviews, snorkel gear and a Land's End tour included.

My pick: The showy evening: $99, pirate crew, BBQ dinner and open bar, 4.4 from 59 reviews.
Cabo San Lucas boat trips for a small group are where the choices multiply, and two show the spread. The Cabo Nature whale watching trip takes at most 14 guests on an 8-meter boat, with an all-women crew, a marine biologist on board and digital photos included. It costs $91 for 2 hours and is rated 4.9 from 318 reviews. You meet at La Terminal de Cabo, right in front of the Breathless Hotel, the guide wears a green Cabo Nature shirt, and the listing promises a second tour free if you find no whales on the first.
At the other end sits the Sun Rider sunset dinner cruise on a double-deck catamaran with a dance floor. It costs $115 for 2.5 hours and has 4.5 from 52 reviews. The price includes a Mexican buffet and an open bar with rum, tequila, vodka, gin and cocktails; premium drinks are $7 each and a lobster dinner $20 extra, and the $5 dock fee is paid in cash. Meet in front of the Sr. Frogs store, between Cabo Dolphins and the craft market, 30 minutes before the start. Two very different Cabo San Lucas boat trips for two different evenings out.

CABO NATURE
My pick: Small-boat whale watching, max 14 guests: $91, 4.9 from 318 reviews, photos and a marine biologist included.
Night tourSun Rider Tours
My pick: A catamaran dinner with a dance floor at $115; 4.5 from 52 reviews, extras like lobster cost more.
Cabo San Lucas boat cruises are the longer, more comfortable end of the list. The True Baja whale watching tour costs $97 for 3 hours and is rated 4.9 from 196 reviews. It begins with a van from Chileno Bay Public Beach, lists a shaded boat with a marine toilet, bottled water and granola bars, pictures of the whole trip and a sighting guarantee that gives you another trip free if you see no whales. The route passes the Arch and the sea lion colony before heading out for about two hours in the Gulf of California.
The other cruise worth a look is the Wild Cabo sunset yacht with a chef dinner and open bar, at $199 for 3 hours. It is the most expensive shared dinner trip on my list and has the lowest rating among them: 4.2 from 31 reviews. The listing includes fish, chicken or vegan dinner, live music and games with an MC, and hotel pickup. It is not open to children under 18, and the meeting point is Dock 0 behind the Breathless Resort, next to La Terminal. The review count is small, so I’d read the recent comments first.

True Baja
My pick: My whale pick for comfort: $97, three hours, shaded boat, 4.9 from 196 reviews and a free repeat trip if you see none.

Wild Cabo.
My pick: A $199 chef dinner on a yacht for adults only; 4.2 from 31 reviews, so I'd check the latest reviews.
Private boat tours in Cabo San Lucas cost a lot more per boat than shared ones but can be cheaper per head once there are six or more of you. The Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures private 38-foot sailing boat costs $600 for 3 hours and has 4.9 from 11 reviews. The listing says the crew hoists the sails on every cruise, snorkeling happens at Pelican Rock cove, and food, drinks, snorkel gear and towels are included. It adds that tours can be extended on request and that whale watching is part of every cruise in winter, December through March. It leaves from Dock F in the IGY marina.
The smaller option is the Cabo Trek private yacht express cruise: $399 for 1 hour on a 33-foot Sea Ray that carries up to 10 guests. It passes the Arch, Lover’s Beach, Pelican Rock, the sea lion colony and Medano Beach. After booking you get a proposed start time to confirm. It has a perfect 5.0, but from only 4 reviews, so I treat it as promising, not proven. For more private options and how they compare on price, see my yacht charter page.

Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures
My pick: Your own 38-foot sailboat for three hours at $600; 4.9 from 11 reviews, food and snorkel gear included.

Cabo Trek
My pick: One express hour past the Arch on a private yacht for up to 10, $399; 5.0 from only 4 reviews.
The best boat tours in Cabo San Lucas, by the numbers in my data, are two sailing trips from Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures. The shared sunset sailing cruise costs $84 for 2 hours, is rated 4.9 from 138 reviews and goes past Lover’s Beach, Land’s End and the Arch before the crew cuts the engine and raises the sails. Light snacks (cheeses, salami, baguette, chips, salsas and dessert) and an open bar are included. People with back problems, heart problems or mobility impairments are asked not to book, and wheelchair users cannot join.
The half-day snorkeling and sailing trip is the same price, $84, but lasts 3 hours and includes snorkeling gear, towels, a light lunch, an open bar and wetsuits in winter. It has 4.8 from only 15 reviews, so it is a good score on thin evidence. Both leave from Dock F, the fourth gate from Lorenzillo’s restaurant towards the Wyndham hotel. If sailing appeals to you, my sailing page covers all three of the operator’s trips together.

Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures
My pick: The best-rated evening trip: $84 for two hours under sail, 4.9 from 138 reviews, snacks and open bar included.

Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures
My pick: Snorkel plus sail with lunch for $84; 4.8 from 15 reviews, so I'd read them first.
A catamaran boat tour in Cabo San Lucas, in my data, means the Pez Gato whale watching catamaran. It costs $97 for 2 hours, is rated 4.7 from 131 reviews and includes hotel pickup (arranged 48 hours ahead), a light breakfast or lunch, and an open bar with domestic drinks. The itinerary gives a 20-minute photo stop at the Arch, one hour of whale watching and a 20-minute meal on board. The description names gray, humpback and blue whales and mentions a hydrophone for listening to them.
One reviewer wrote that they did not see many whales but still had a great time, which is honest and worth knowing: the 4.7 here is lower than the 4.9 for the two smaller whale trips. The luxury catamaran with snorkeling from Cabo Adventures is in the Lands End section below, and the other catamaran trips are on my whale watching page.

Pez Gato Amazing Adventures
My pick: The catamaran whale trip with breakfast and open bar, $97, 4.7 from 131 reviews; one reviewer saw few whales.
Dolphin tours in Cabo San Lucas are thin in my data: none of the 16 boat tours in Cabo San Lucas is sold as a dolphin tour. The True Baja whale watching description says that with luck you may also see turtles, dolphins and mantas, and the Cabo Trek reviews mention sea lions and whales, but that is a bonus, not a promise. I won’t tell you what you will see on any one day.
If marine wildlife is why you want a Cabo San Lucas boat tour, I’d book one of the small-boat whale trips on my whale watching page, or the snorkeling trip to Pelican Rock where the sea lion colony is part of the route. Cabo Dolphins, the place on the marina that appears on the Sun Rider meeting-point directions, is a separate attraction and I haven’t compared it.
People who search for a glass bottom boat tour in Cabo San Lucas usually want to see fish without getting wet. None of the 16 boat tours in Cabo San Lucas that I compared is a glass-bottom boat, so I can’t give you a glass-bottom price or a rating. The Wild Cabo pirate ship cruise ended up in this section only because it is the leftover best-rated product, not because it has a glass floor.
It is a different kind of evening: $99, 2 hours, 4.4 from 125 reviews, with a pirate show, a BBQ dinner and an open bar of beer, vodka, tequila and sodas. You check in at Dock 0 behind the Breathless Resort, arriving 45 minutes before boarding, and pay the $5 dock and protected-area fee in cash. The listing says it is not suitable for pregnant women or people prone to seasickness. For fish you can actually see, I’d go to the snorkeling trips, and there is a longer breakdown on my dinner cruise page.

Wild Cabo.
My pick: Not a glass-bottom boat: a pirate ship dinner show for $99, 4.4 from 125 reviews, here only as the leftover best match.
A boat ride in Cabo San Lucas can be a party or a snorkel, and Pez Gato sells both kinds of boat tour in Cabo San Lucas. The 4-hour snorkeling cruise with an open bar costs $104 and has 4.5 from 111 reviews. It starts with a 20-minute photo stop at the Arch, then runs along the Tourist Corridor to Santa Maria Beach for 45 minutes of snorkeling, lunch and free time. Fins, masks, snorkels, life vests, baguettes, fruit and chips are included; hotel pickup has to be arranged 48 hours ahead. One reviewer wrote that the sea was rough and the snorkeling was not world class, but they saw plenty of fish.
The same operator’s sunset party cruise is a different boat ride, a lively one. It costs $82 for 2 hours, is for guests 18 and older, and is rated 4.4 from 130 reviews. It includes an open bar, light snacks, music, round-trip transport and a stop at the Arch. This one ended up in the section as a leftover, not as the best match for it, so read it as a party pick for friends and not as a quiet sightseeing ride. The details on timing are on my sunset cruise page.

Pez Gato Amazing Adventures
My pick: Four hours with snorkel gear, lunch snacks and open bar for $104; 4.5 from 111 reviews, rough seas on one review.

Pez Gato Amazing Adventures
My pick: A party boat at sunset, $82 and 18 plus only; 4.4 from 130 reviews. A leftover here, not a sightseeing pick.
A Lands End boat tour in Cabo San Lucas is what most Cabo San Lucas boat tours are, since Land’s End is the rocky tip of the Baja peninsula that holds the Arch, Lover’s Beach and the sea lion colony. The Cabo Adventures luxury catamaran with snorkeling and lunch is the most polished version of that route that I found. It costs $177 for 4 hours, is rated 4.5 from 106 reviews, and includes snorkeling gear, paddleboards, a deli-style lunch in bento boxes, a national open bar, the dock entrance fee and round-trip transport. A reviewer praised the small group of 30.
At the other end is the cheapest trip on my list: the aquaholic boat trips yacht ride to Lovers or Pelicano Beach at $40. It is a 45-minute cruise followed by at least 2 hours of free beach time, for a maximum of 10 guests, with the $5 dock fee included. It has 5.0 from only 3 reviews and sits in this section as a leftover, so I wouldn’t weigh its rating. You meet at Gregory Tours in front of the surfboard sculpture, 30 minutes before the start, and the listing says departures are at 10:00 AM or 12:00 PM.

Cabo Adventures
My pick: The polished version: $177, four hours, lunch, open bar and paddleboards, 4.5 from 106 reviews; pickup is from San Jose del Cabo.

aquaholic boat trips srl
My pick: The budget beach day at $40: 45 minutes by yacht and 2 hours on the sand; only 3 reviews, so I treat it as unproven.
The route in the infographic below is the one the Sun Rider listing names, and most Cabo San Lucas boat tours follow a shorter or longer version of it. You leave the marina, pass Lover’s Beach, Pelican Rock and Neptune’s Finger, reach Land’s End and the Arch, and in the evening you stay near the rocks as the sun goes down. A whale trip leaves that line at the Arch and heads out to open water; a snorkel stays at Pelican Rock.

Stops on the route
Two things worth knowing before you book a boat tour in Cabo San Lucas. First, the Arch sits about 1.3 miles from the marina in a straight line, so short trips spend most of their time on the rocks, not in transit. Second, the evening light comes early in winter: the sun sets around 5:35 PM in November and around 7:08 PM in July, and my sunset cruise page lists every month. The whale season is described in more detail on the whale watching page; the NOAA humpback whale page explains why humpbacks migrate to warm waters in winter to breed.
Boats on most Cabo San Lucas boat tours leave from the marina, in three clusters. Dock 0 behind the Breathless Resort, next to La Terminal de Cabo, serves the Wild Cabo trips and the Cabo Nature whale tour. Dock F in the IGY marina serves the three Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures trips. Smaller operators, such as Baja Snorkel, Sun Rider and Gregory Tours, meet at shopfront points along the harbor walk. In a straight line, La Terminal is about 0.4 miles from the marina office area, the Arch is 0.9 miles from La Terminal, Pelican Rock is 1.0 mile from the marina and Medano Beach is 0.4 miles.

Open in Google MapsMy data splits the 16 Cabo San Lucas boat tours into six types, and each has its own page. Prices are the lowest listed for that type, and durations come from the listings. Some products appear in two types, so the counts overlap.
| Trip type | Price from | Typical duration | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whale watching | $91 | 2 to 3 hours | Small-boat humpback trips with photos and a repeat-trip promise |
| Snorkeling tour | $51 | 2 to 4 hours | Pelican Rock, the Arch and fish, with gear included |
| Sunset cruise | $82 | 2 to 3 hours | Golden hour by the Arch, sailing, party or dinner |
| Yacht charter | $40 | 45 minutes to 3 hours | Private yachts and a budget beach day |
| Sailing trip | $84 | 2 to 3 hours | Sails up, engine off, couples and small groups |
| Dinner cruise | $99 | 2 to 3 hours | Pirate show, buffet or chef dinner with an open bar |
Here is how I’d pick among the boat tours in Cabo San Lucas in four questions.
All 16 trips refund in full if you cancel up to 24 hours ahead, so book early and move the date if the weather turns. Whichever boat tour in Cabo San Lucas you choose, check the meeting point in your confirmation: there are several docks in the marina, and the Cabo Sailing listing warns that its trips leave from the IGY marina downtown. Then compare the sunset cruises and snorkeling trips for your date.

For most visitors I'd book the Los Cabos Arch and Lover's Beach snorkeling tour from Baja Snorkel: $51, 2 hours, rated 4.9 from 365 reviews. For whales I'd pick the Cabo Nature all-women-crew trip at $91 (4.9 from 318 reviews). For an evening, the Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures shared sunset sail costs $84 and is rated 4.9 from 138 reviews.
The 16 trips I compared on GetYourGuide run from $40 for a 45-minute yacht ride to Lover's Beach to $600 for a private 38-foot sailing boat. Most shared tours cost $51 to $115: snorkeling from $51, whale watching from $91, pirate ship dinner shows $99, a catamaran snorkel with lunch $177.
Most leave from the Cabo San Lucas marina. The Wild Cabo pirate ship and yacht check in at Dock 0 behind the Breathless Resort, next to La Terminal. Cabo Sailing Ocean Adventures boards at Dock F in the IGY marina. Baja Snorkel meets near the surfboard art by the dolphinarium. Several tours run hotel pickups instead.
Yes, all 16 listings I compared refund in full if you cancel up to 24 hours before the start. That gives you room to move a date if the wind or swell turns. Some Pez Gato tours need hotel pickup arranged 48 hours ahead, so confirm your pickup early. Check the cancellation line of your option at checkout.
Most are 2 to 3 hours: snorkeling at Pelican Rock is 2 hours, whale watching 2 to 3, sunset cruises 2 to 3. The two Pez Gato and Cabo Adventures snorkel cruises take 4 hours, a private yacht express cruise 1 hour, and the Lover's Beach yacht 45 minutes plus at least 2 hours of beach time.
Four listings sell whale watching: Cabo Nature, True Baja and the Pez Gato catamaran, plus a private sailing boat that says whale watching is part of every cruise from December through March. Whales are wild animals, so no listing can promise one on your day. Cabo Nature and True Baja each offer a repeat trip if you see none.
None of the 16 trips I compared is a glass-bottom boat. If that is what you want, you would book on the spot at the marina, where I haven't compared prices. For seeing the fish, my snorkeling trips are the closest match, from $51, with the mask, fins and life jacket supplied on the listings.
Bring sunscreen, a hat, a swimsuit, cash for the $5 dock fee where the listing says it is paid on arrival, and a camera that can take a splash. The Baja Snorkel listing says to bring your own towel; the Cabo Adventures and Sun Rider tours supply towels or lunch. Read the included line of your tour.
