A party boat night in Cancun is a 3-hour cruise with a DJ, an open bar and a stop to swim, and the two I found cost the same: $105. They are the Hip Hop Sessions cruise and the Rockstar Boat Party, both from the operator Rockstarcrawls, and I put them next to the open-bar catamarans and the sunset sail, which are the other ways to drink on the water. My overview of every trip is on the page for boat tours in Cancun. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.
My pick among Cancun party boats is the Hip Hop Sessions party boat: 4.6 from 319 reviews, against 3.2 from only 6 reviews for the Rockstar Boat Party.
A party boat in Cancun, Mexico is a package: you pay once, get on at the pier and everything on the list is covered. The Hip Hop Sessions listing includes all you can drink, party hosts, sandwiches, a swimming and snorkeling stop, guest DJs, a champagne shower and photos. Docking is the part that is not covered: $10 is paid in cash at check-in.

My pick: The 18+ booze cruise: $105, 3 hours, but 3.2 from only 6 reviews and a strict no-late-arrival rule.

| Rockstarcrawls (Rockstar Boat Party) | $105 | 3 hours | Party boat with DJ, 18+ | 3.2 (6 reviews) | Free up to 24 hours |
| Amigo Tours LATAM | $35 | 8 to 10 hours | Catamaran with open bar | 4.2 (3,335 reviews) | Free up to 24 hours |

The hiphop party boat is the Hip Hop Sessions cruise, and the description promises hip hop and R&B, an on-board DJ and a guest DJ who welcomes you aboard. The cruise heads to an area with clear water for snorkeling and swimming, serves snacks and drinks and returns to the pier at sunset, where the listing says the party continues in Cancun. Reviewers mention the vibe, the music and friendly organizers.
The fee and the rules are simple. Docking is $10 in cash, the food on offer is sandwiches, and the listing lists food and drinks beyond the package as not included. I read that as: bring cash and eat before you go. Languages are English and Spanish.
I did not find a party yacht in the usual sense. The three yachts on my yacht rental in Cancun page are private charters from $314 for the whole boat, with water and soda included and food and alcohol not. If you bring a group of friends and want your own music, that is the closest thing to a party yacht, and with a full boat of 14 it costs about $29 each for the $411 yacht. It is a different night from a DJ boat with strangers.
A party cruise in Cancun often starts and ends at the same place: Caribbean Carnival Pier, next to the Playa Tortugas ferry terminal in the Hotel Zone. Both Rockstar boats board there. The Rockstar Boat Party adds an 18+ age limit, well rum, tequila, vodka and beer, and inflatables and water activities on day parties only. A premium bottle menu is available at extra cost and by pre-order, and the $10 marina and ecological conservation tax is paid in cash.

My pick: Same pier and price as my pick, but only 6 reviews at 3.2; I'd read the recent ones before booking.
The rule that catches people out is timing: the boat does not wait for late arrivals, and late arrivals are not refunded. Count the Hotel Zone traffic in, and leave early. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before the start.
If you want a boozy cruise that also goes somewhere, there are two real options. The first is the all-day catamaran: the Amigo Tours LATAM trip at $35 lists an open bar, snorkeling and a beach club on Isla Mujeres, and it takes 8 to 10 hours. The second is the sunset sail with transfer at $76: 5 hours, rum, vodka, tequila, sodas and snacks, free time in town and a stop at Playa Norte. Both are open-bar trips, but the sunset one has just one review.

My pick: Sunset sail to Isla Mujeres with cocktails and transfer, $76, 5 hours; a perfect 5.0 but from only 1 review.
My page on a catamaran tour in Cancun compares the day trips, and the sunset cruise page lists the evening options.
The honest summary of a party boat cruise in Cancun: three hours, $105, and a packed boat. Both Rockstar trips use a similar formula, and the 319 reviews of the Hip Hop Sessions cruise are the better evidence. Sunset in Cancun falls around 6:06 PM in November and 7:33 PM in July, so the Hip Hop Sessions line about partying until sunset puts the return near dusk. The listings do not give departure times, so check your date and slot at checkout.
If a party isn’t your plan, the snorkeling tour page covers quieter reef trips, and sailing in Cancun lists parasailing and a speedboat day.
The $105 ticket is not the whole bill. Add the $10 docking or marina tax in cash, a tip for the crew (tips are listed as not included on the Rockstar boat), and any premium bottles you pre-order. A realistic budget for the night is about $120 to $130 per person, and everything else on the list is covered: the open bar, the sandwiches, the DJ, the swim stop on the Hip Hop Sessions boat and the photos.
Compare that with the open-bar catamaran at $35 plus the $20 port fee. For $55 you get 8 to 10 hours, snorkeling, an island and a beach club, but also a daytime crowd and an early finish. The Cancun party boat is shorter and louder, and it is the better pick when the music is the point. If you only want the drinks, the catamaran beats any Cancun party boat on price per hour by a wide margin.
The Rockstar listing mentions water activities and inflatables on day parties only, which tells me the boat runs at different times of day and the extras change with the slot. The Hip Hop Sessions listing describes partying until sunset and returning to the starting point. Neither listing gives fixed departure times in my data, so the slot you pick at checkout decides what you get. If swimming matters to you, choose a daytime slot and read the option text.
For a party boat in Cancun at night, I’d also check how you will get back. The pier is in the Hotel Zone, next to the ferry terminal, and the listings do not mention hotel drop-off. Plan a taxi or ride before you go, and keep some cash for it along with the docking fee.
I’d book the Hip Hop Sessions party boat in Cancun at $105 for a night out, bring cash for the $10 docking fee and arrive early. If I wanted an all-day party with an island, I’d take the $35 catamaran. For the rest of the list, go back to my guide to boat tours in Cancun or the home page.
Both party boats I found cost $105 per person for 3 hours: the Hip Hop Sessions cruise and the Rockstar Boat Party. Each also lists a $10 docking or marina tax paid in cash at check-in. If you want a cheaper open-bar day, the Isla Mujeres catamarans start at $35 for 8 to 10 hours.
Yes. The Hip Hop Sessions listing includes all you can drink liquor, beer and soda. The Rockstar listing names well rum, tequila, vodka, beer, sodas, water and juice. Premium bottles, including champagne bottles for the champagne shower, are an extra on Rockstar and must be ordered before the event.
Both Rockstar boats meet at Caribbean Carnival Pier, right next to the Playa Tortugas ferry terminal on the Hotel Zone boulevard. The Rockstar listing warns that the boat will not wait for late arrivals and that late arrivals are not refunded, so arrive early. Hotel pickup is not listed for either party boat.
The Rockstar Boat Party is listed as 18+. The Hip Hop Sessions listing doesn't state a minimum age in the data I have, so I'd ask the operator before bringing anyone under 21. Both serve unlimited alcohol, and I'd treat them as adult nights out, not family trips.
Both list free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start for a full refund. After that, the booking is not refundable, and the Rockstar boat will not wait for anyone who arrives late. I'd book a date with some buffer and read the cancellation line again on the confirmation message.
