Yacht rental in Barcelona is mostly a skippered cruise from Port Olimpic or Marina Vela, either shared with a few other guests or booked for your own group. I compared four on GetYourGuide, from a $55 shared sailing yacht to a $393 private sunset cruise for up to 11 people. For every other kind of trip, my page on boat tours in Barcelona compares all 18 side by side.
My pick in one line: among the yacht rentals in Barcelona, the best value is Sphynx BCN at $55, rated 5.0 from 687 reviews, and for a private yacht I’d book Ruta 40 Charters at $162 for the price. Prices are in US dollars from the listings, checked in October 2026, and booking links are affiliate links.

Sphynx BCN
My pick: My yacht pick: $55, 2 hours on a 52-foot yacht, open bar, 5.0 from 687 reviews.
Yacht rentals in Barcelona fall into two groups. Sphynx BCN is a shared trip, so you buy a seat on a yacht with a maximum of 11 guests. The other three are private: you book the whole boat for your group, with a skipper or captain. None of them is a bareboat rental where you drive the yacht yourself, which is why you do not need a licence for these four.
| Yacht | Operator | Price | Rating (reviews) | Duration | Type | Meeting point |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 52-foot yacht cruise, open bar | Sphynx BCN | $55 | 5.0 (687) | 2 hours | Shared, max 11 guests | Marina Vela, slip 80 |
| Private yacht or sailboat with captain | Ruta 40 Charters | $162 | 4.9 (34) | 1 to 2 hours | Private | Port Olimpic, gate 7 |
| Private daytime cruise, 15-meter yacht | Barcelona Sailing | $337 | 4.8 (366) | 2 hours | Private | Port Olimpic, berth 1428 |
| Luxury private sunset cruise | Barcelona Sailing | $393 | 4.8 (78) | 2 hours | Private, up to 11 guests | Port Olimpic, berth 1428 |
All four allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start for a full refund.
If you only want the yacht hire experience without paying for a whole boat, the Sphynx BCN cruise is the entry point. The yacht is a Comar Comet 52 RS, built in Italy, with a teak deck, and it leaves from Marina Vela next to the W Hotel. The listing covers an open bar of Spanish cava, wine, beer, soft drinks and water with light snacks, and says guests can swim when the weather and sea allow. One reviewer mentions that blankets were provided. It is limited to 11 guests, which is a lot smaller than a catamaran. Bring a towel, because the listing says towels are not included.
The best detail for planning: Sphynx BCN also appears on Google Maps as a boat tour agency with a 5.0 rating from 1,795 reviews, which suggests the GetYourGuide rating is not a one-off. I count that as a minor signal and not as proof.
A luxury yacht charter in Barcelona starts with Barcelona Sailing, which runs two private cruises from the same berth in Port Olimpic. The meeting point is Moll de la Marina 14, berth 1428, on a sailboat called Aruba, and the listing says the marina has paid parking and the metro station is Vila Olimpica on the yellow line (L4). The daytime cruise costs $337 and the sunset cruise $393 for up to 11 guests. Both last 2 hours and include an English-speaking skipper, snacks and drinks, safety equipment, blankets and music.

Barcelona Sailing
My pick: The private daytime yacht: $337, 2 hours, skipper and snacks included, 4.8 from 366 reviews.
The route is the same on both. You pass the Maremagnum shopping centre, the Columbus statue and the fortress of Montjuic before you leave the port, then see the W Hotel, Barceloneta Beach and the Olympic Towers from the sea. The listing adds that you get a view of the Sagrada Familia from the water. A welcome drink of cava or white wine is part of the ticket. The sunset version swaps the skyline for the sun going down over the coast.

Barcelona Sailing
My pick: The private sunset yacht: $393 for up to 11 guests, 2 hours, 4.8 from 78 reviews.
A luxury yacht rental in Barcelona gets cheaper per person with a bigger group. At $393 for up to 11 guests, the sunset cruise works out at about $36 each when full, which is cheaper than the $55 Sphynx BCN seat, but only if you fill all 11 places. For a couple, the daytime yacht at $337 is $169 each, which is a very different price from the shared seat. That is why I’d book the shared yacht for two people and the private one for a group of six or more.
For a sailboat charter in Barcelona that costs less than the luxury yacht, Ruta 40 Charters is the one to look at. The listing offers a private yacht or sailboat with a captain for $162 for 1 to 2 hours, from gate 7 at Port Olimpic. You choose between a sunset ride and a daytime trip, with time to sail, anchor and swim. Drinks include a glass of cava, beer, soft drinks and water. A paella costs 45 euros per person extra, according to the listing. It scores 4.9 from 34 reviews, a small sample.

Ruta 40 Charters
My pick: The cheaper private option: $162, 1 to 2 hours, captain and drinks included, 4.9 from 34 reviews.
Sailing charter in Barcelona can also mean a full day. The Barcelona Sailing Day private trip runs 1 to 10 hours for $224 and up to 9 guests, and it is on my private boat tour in Barcelona page and my sailing in Barcelona page. SeaBarcelona’s listing says its cruises are available as private charters or shared, but I only have the shared price. If you need a full day, ask the operator for the private price.
Think about the group before the boat when you plan a yacht rental in Barcelona. Two people on a budget get the most from the shared Sphynx BCN seat, because the open bar and the 5.0 rating cost $55 each. A family of four or five has a choice between the Ruta 40 Charters ride at $162 for the whole boat and the Barcelona Sailing daytime yacht at $337, and the first is far cheaper if you do not mind a captain-led 1 to 2 hours. A birthday or a proposal on the water points to the private sunset cruise at $393, where nobody else is aboard. The listings do not set a minimum age, so tell the operator if you are bringing children, and ask about life jackets in their size.
Most yacht rentals in Barcelona fix the length at 2 hours, with the Ruta 40 trip flexible between 1 and 2 hours. If you want a full day on the water, the private sailing day on my other page is the better fit than any of these four.
Sunset is the most popular time for a yacht cruise. I calculated sunset for the 15th of each month from the city’s coordinates using sunrise-sunset.org: about 9:28 pm in June, 8:02 pm in September, 7:12 pm in mid-October, 5:33 pm in November and 5:24 pm in December. Clocks go back on 25 October. My sunset cruise in Barcelona page lists every month and compares six sunset trips. A yacht rental in Barcelona at sunset in winter is a short evening, so check the actual departure time on the booking page.
Whichever yacht rental in Barcelona you choose, free cancellation lasts until 24 hours before the start, so you can wait for the forecast. For every trip I compared, go back to Barcelona boat tours, or start from the Harbour Advisor home page.
In my comparison, four skippered yacht cruises run from $55 to $393. Sphynx BCN is $55 per person on a shared 52-foot yacht, Ruta 40 Charters is $162 for a private yacht or sailboat, Barcelona Sailing charges $337 for a private daytime cruise and $393 for a private sunset cruise for up to 11 guests.
On the three private options, yes. The Barcelona Sailing listings include an English-speaking skipper and Ruta 40 Charters lists a captain. The Sphynx BCN trip is a shared cruise on the operator's own 52-foot yacht, not a bareboat rental. None of the four needs a licence, because you are a passenger.
Sphynx BCN at $55 per person. It is a shared 2-hour cruise on a 52-foot Italian sailing yacht from Marina Vela, with a maximum of 11 guests, an open bar with cava, wine and beer, and snacks. It scores 5.0 from 687 reviews, which is the best rating in my whole comparison.
Yes on all four. Sphynx BCN has an open bar with cava, wine, beer, soft drinks and water. Barcelona Sailing includes a welcome drink of cava or white wine plus snacks and drinks. Ruta 40 Charters includes cava, beer, soft drinks and water. Paella on the Ruta 40 trip costs 45 euros extra.
Two marinas. Barcelona Sailing leaves from Port Olimpic, Moll de la Marina 14, berth 1428, on a sailboat called Aruba. Ruta 40 Charters leaves from gate 7 of Port Olimpic. Sphynx BCN leaves from Marina Vela, next to the W Hotel. Check the berth on each booking page.
