Singapore Boat Trips – Join-in Yacht Fishing at the Southern Islands of Singapore

A fishing charter in Singapore means leaving the city skyline behind and heading out to the Southern Islands on a yacht, or paddling a pedal-powered kayak to spots the guide picks. I compared three fishing trips on GetYourGuide, all four hours, from $116 to $934. For every boat trip I looked at, see my guide to boat tours in Singapore. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.

My pick for a first fishing charter in Singapore is the join-in yacht fishing trip at $116. I haven’t been on any of these boats, so my picks rest on the listings and review snippets, and with so few reviews on all three I’d treat every rating as provisional.

Fishing Trip Singapore

A fishing trip in Singapore with a join-in yacht is the easiest to understand, and the best starting point if you have never booked a fishing charter in Singapore before. You meet at One Degree 15 Marina at Sentosa, wait on the sofa outside Wok15, and sail with a captain, crew and fishing instructors from a fishing academy. The listing says the trip targets groupers, snappers, breams, tusk fish and trevallies, and that the crew prepares your catch to take home.

The rod, bait and bottled water are included, and the languages are English, Chinese and Malay. One reviewer called it very easy for beginners and said they ate their catch at a local restaurant that cooked it for them. Another caught two big fish. That is encouraging, but six reviews are not many.

Singapore Fishing Charter

A Singapore fishing charter on a private yacht changes the economics. The Catch and Cook charter costs $934 for four hours, with rods and reels, bait, a raincoat, seasick pills, fish cleaning and a chef service. The listing offers BBQ food that has to be pre-ordered three days before, so plan the menu early. The meeting point is the same One Degree 15 Marina at Sentosa.

The charter has no reviews and no rating, so there is nothing yet to judge it by. It is also the only one of the three where the listing mentions a raincoat, which tells you the boat goes out in any weather the operator considers safe, so pack for a shower and ask what happens if the trip is called off. It comes from the same operator as the join-in trip, which has a 4.9, and I’d treat it as a private version of that for a group that wants a boat to itself. Its sister yacht product, the sunset dinner cruise, is on my Dinner Cruise Singapore page.

Are Fishing Charter Prices Per Person

Whether a fishing charter price is per person is the most common question, and the listings answer it only half way. The join-in yacht trip is a small-group product at $116, which I read as a seat. The Catch and Cook yacht at $934 is labelled a private group, so I read it as the price of a boat. The kayak tour at $116 is also a small-group trip.

I can’t confirm the unit from the data, so open the booking page, change the number of guests and watch the total. If the $934 charter covers a group of six, it is about $156 each, which is only $40 more than the shared seats. That is a calculation, not a listing claim, so ask the operator about the maximum group size first.

Are Fishing Charters Worth It

Are fishing charters worth it? On my list I’d say it depends on what you want. The join-in yacht is the one I’d recommend to a beginner who wants guidance and a shared cost: instructors, gear and a catch to take home for $116. A private charter is worth it for a group who want the whole boat and a meal cooked from the catch.

The kayak tour is the one I’d check twice. Its rating of 3.9 from eight reviews is the lowest here, although the reviewers who wrote text were positive about the staff and the variety of fish. The listing also lists gratuities as both included and not included, and calls the tour non-refundable while the header offers free cancellation. Ask which applies.

Fishing Guide Singapore

Every one of the three trips comes with a guide of some kind, so none of these Singapore fishing trips needs previous experience on your part. The yacht trips have fishing instructors and a captain, the kayak tour has an expert fishing guide who teaches casting and positioning, and the kayak package adds a VHF radio, a life jacket and photos. On a join-in boat the guide is shared among the group.

Singapore waters are busy with shipping, so a local guide who knows where it is allowed and safe to fish matters. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore publishes port limits and notices at mpa.gov.sg, and I’d read it if you plan anything beyond a booked trip. For licensing questions about fishing in Singapore waters, I don’t make claims, and I’d ask the operator instead.

Fishing Tours Singapore

Fishing tours in Singapore split by how you want to move, and that is the first thing to decide before you book a Singapore fishing charter. The kayak tour is the one with exercise: it uses Hobie kayaks driven by MirageDrive pedals, which the listing says leave your hands free for the rod, and it targets hidden spots in coastal waters. The meeting point is not published, so you email max@fever.sg or call the number on the listing to confirm the launch point.

The yacht tours go further out, to the Southern Islands, and the crew handles the boat. If you get seasick, the Catch and Cook listing includes seasick pills, which the other two don’t mention. The Sentosa departure point, One Degree 15 Marina, is about 2.6 km from the Singapore Oceanarium in my place data, so you can combine the trip with a day on the island.

How I’d Choose a Fishing Charter in Singapore

Here is how I’d decide on a fishing charter in Singapore in three questions.

  1. Have you fished before? If not, take the $116 join-in yacht, which has instructors and the best rating, then compare it with the kayak if you want a workout.
  2. Is it a group? The $934 private yacht with a chef makes more sense with several people, once you have confirmed the capacity.
  3. Do you need a flexible date? Both yacht trips give free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead. The kayak terms are contradictory.

For the other trips on my list, see every Singapore boat trip I compared. For an evening on the river instead of the open sea, the River Cruise Singapore page compares five options, and you can start again from the Harbour Advisor home page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a fishing charter in Singapore cost?

In my data a fishing charter in Singapore costs $116 for the join-in yacht trip, $116 for the kayak fishing tour and $934 for the private catch-and-cook yacht. All three last four hours. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the first two are shared trips, so confirm on the booking page whether each price is per person.

Are fishing charter prices per person in Singapore?

It depends on the trip. The join-in yacht and kayak tours are group trips sold per booking line, which I read as per person, while the Catch and Cook yacht is a private-group listing at $934. The listings don't state it plainly, so check the unit on the booking page and ask the operator about capacity.

Where do fishing charters in Singapore leave from?

The two yacht trips meet at One Degree 15 Marina at Sentosa, where you wait on the sofa outside Wok15 on the first floor. The kayak tour publishes no address: you email the operator or call to confirm the launch point, and it may change with the itinerary, so ask a day ahead.

Are fishing charters worth it in Singapore?

For a beginner, I think the join-in yacht is the safer start: 4.9 from 6 reviews, instructors, gear and bait included, and one reviewer ate their catch at a local restaurant. The kayak tour is rated 3.9 from 8 reviews, so read those first. Neither has many reviews, so the evidence is thin.

Is fishing in Singapore good for beginners?

The listings say so. Both yacht trips are described as beginner-friendly with instructors, and the kayak tour says it suits all skill levels with a guide who teaches casting and landing fish. The yacht trips target groupers, snappers, breams, tusk fish and trevallies around the Southern Islands. Catch rates are never promised.

Can I cancel a fishing charter in Singapore?

Both yacht trips give a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead. The kayak listing contradicts itself: the header offers free cancellation up to 24 hours, but the exclusions say the tour is non-refundable. I'd ask the operator to confirm in writing before paying.
