A sunset cruise in Bali is a different trip on each coast: a dinner show out of Benoa, a quiet snorkeling sail in Lovina, a fisherman’s jukung in Amed, and a private yacht in the south. I compared four on GetYourGuide, from $18 to $696. For every boat trip I compared, see my guide to boat tours in Bali. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page.
My pick for a sunset cruise in Bali is the Lovina sunset boat cruise at $18, rated 4.7 from 66 reviews. For a night out I’d choose the Bali Hai sunset dinner cruise from Benoa at $78. I haven’t been on any of these boats, so my choices rest on the listings and review snippets.

Sunset Times in Bali by Month
The sun sets within about 40 minutes of the same time all year in Bali. These times are calculated for the island’s coordinates on the 15th of each month, in local time (UTC+8, with no daylight saving), so you can plan a departure.

Only the Serangan yacht gives a departure time (3:00 PM). For the other trips, pick a start that gets you to the water 30 to 60 minutes before the times above and confirm the time with the operator. Cloud cover over the horizon matters as much as the date, and Indonesia’s weather agency BMKG publishes the forecasts.
Dinner Cruise Bali
The dinner cruise in Bali I found is the Bali Hai sunset dinner cruise, a 3-hour trip from Benoa for $78, rated 4.5 from 65 reviews. The price includes hotel pickup and drop-off from selected Bali areas, a welcome drink with canapes, an international buffet, live musical entertainment, a cabaret show and DJ entertainment. Alcoholic drinks and souvenir photos can be bought on board.
The listing says the cruise operates aboard Bali Hai II or Sail Sensations depending on guest numbers, with the same dining and entertainment either way. On Sail Sensations the show is on the open deck. The route changes with the weather: when conditions allow, the boat goes farther beyond Benoa Harbour, and otherwise stays closer in. Google Maps lists Bali Hai Cruises at 4.6 from 1,078 reviews, which is the operator’s rating, not this tour’s.
Bali Hai Cruises

My pick: The dinner boat: $78, buffet, live music and a cabaret show, with hotel pickup from selected areas.
Bali Dinner Cruise
If you are searching for a Bali dinner cruise, the Bali Hai trip is the only one on my list, so there is nothing to compare on price. What I can compare is the sunset side. In October the sun sets around 6:13 PM, and the listing gives no start time, so ask when the boat leaves Benoa. A 3-hour cruise that boards before dusk will cover the sunset and the first part of the evening, then the cabaret and DJ come after dark.
For anyone who wants just the sunset without the meal, the Lovina and Amed trips are cheaper, and the Serangan yacht is the private option. The dinner cruise suits groups who don’t want to plan an evening. It is less suitable if you want quiet, because the listing promises live music, a show and DJ music.
Sunset Dinner Cruise Bali
A sunset dinner cruise in Bali fits best on the south coast, because that is where the harbours with the larger boats are. the Bali Hai trip leaves from Benoa Harbour and the yacht from Serangan Harbour.
The Serangan yacht isn’t a dinner cruise: the listing includes soft drinks, mineral water, tropical fruit and light snacks, and excludes lunch and dinner. If you want dinner after it, plan to eat on land at the 7 PM return.
Bali Hai Sunset Dinner Cruise
Bali Hai Cruises is a Benoa operator, and Google Maps shows its office at 4.6 from 1,078 reviews, near the harbour. This GetYourGuide listing is the one tour of theirs on my list, and the listing says the cruise leaves from Benoa Harbour. I can’t tell you the pier or the check-in time from the listing, which gives no meeting point, so the voucher is the source. The hotel pickup is the way most people will arrive.
How to Choose a Sunset Cruise in Bali
I’d choose a sunset cruise in Bali by coast first and price second. If you are staying in the south, the choice is between the Benoa dinner show and the Serangan private yacht, and the question is whether you want other guests, a meal and entertainment (dinner cruise) or a quiet private boat (yacht). If you are in the north, the Lovina trip is the cheapest evening on the water I found, and it keeps the day short: the listing runs 2 to 6 hours, and the longer end is with hotel transfers. If you are in Amed, the 1.5-hour jukung is the only boat I found there.
Think about what you can see, too. The listings name two volcanoes: Mount Raung from Lovina and Mount Agung from Amed, while the Serangan yacht looks at the Bukit Peninsula coast and the Waterblow. A sunset cruise in Bali works best when the horizon is clear, so I would keep the date flexible and use the free cancellation window, which is 24 hours on all four listings. Finally, check what is included: the Lovina cruise includes an entrance ticket, snorkeling gear and a life jacket but not food or drinks, and the Amed jukung offers drinking water only, with sunscreen and a towel left for you to bring.
Sunset Cruises in Lovina, Amed and Serangan
The other three Bali sunset cruises are each a different idea. On this sunset cruise in Bali’s north, the $18 trip takes a traditional boat across calm water, stops at a coral reef for snorkeling, and shows the northern coastline with Mount Raung as a silhouette. The listing says dolphins may appear but can’t be guaranteed. The Amed sunset cruise in Bali’s east is a 1.5-hour private jukung sail on a traditional wooden boat with a fisherman, and the listing calls the Mount Agung view the iconic one. The Serangan yacht sails from 3:00 PM and ends at Lagoon Serangan for the sunset before the 7 PM return.

My pick: The private option: a four-hour yacht from Serangan Harbour at 3:00 PM for $696. Only one review so far.
If you want snorkeling with your sunset, my snorkeling tour page compares the Lovina trip with the Nusa Penida days. For a private boat, my yacht charter page covers the Serangan yacht and the Nusa Penida one, and anglers can see the morning option on my fishing charter page.
