Sail Experience Holiday
Sunset Small-Group Sailing with Cava & Snacks
4.9 (2,316) · from $37

Sailing in Barcelona usually means a small yacht with a skipper, a drink in your hand and the skyline slowly shrinking behind you. I compared four sailing trips on GetYourGuide, from a $28 one-hour sunset sail to a $224 private day charter. For every other kind of trip, my page on boat tours in Barcelona compares all 18 side by side.
My pick in one line: for sailing in Barcelona with a small group I’d book Sail Experience Holiday at $37, rated 4.9 from 2,316 reviews, and for a private day I’d book Barcelona Sailing Day at $224. Prices are in US dollars from the listings, checked in October 2026, and booking links are affiliate links.

Sail Experience Holiday
My pick: My sailing pick: $37, 2 hours, skipper, cava and snacks, 4.9 from 2,316 reviews.
Barcelona boat trips under sail come in three formats: a shared small-group sail of one or two hours, a private charter where you choose the hours, and a few sunset departures that mix both. All four trips here have a professional skipper, so nobody needs to know how to sail. Most of the sailing in Barcelona happens along the city beaches, with the Barceloneta shoreline, the W Hotel and Montjuic in view.
The table puts the four side by side.
| Trip | Operator | Price | Rating (reviews) | Duration | Group | Meeting point |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sunset small-group sailing with cava | Sail Experience Holiday | $37 | 4.9 (2,316) | 2 hours | Small group, private option | Moll de Mestral |
| Sunset sailboat cruise | Charter Low Cost Barcelona | $28 | 4.9 (1,751) | 1 hour | Small group | Gate 8 to 9, moorings 901 and 902 |
| Midday or sunset sailing, open bar | SeaBarcelona | $49 | 4.8 (2,701) | 2 hours | Max 10 guests | In front of Restaurant MOLO39 |
| Private sailing trip, max 9 | Barcelona Sailing Day | $224 | 5.0 (116) | 1 to 10 hours | Private group | Moll de la Marina, Port Olimpic |
All four allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
A sailing day in Barcelona is what the private charter sells. Barcelona Sailing Day boards at Moll de la Marina in Port Olimpic at a time you choose, with no more than 9 guests and your own skipper. The duration runs from 1 to 10 hours, which makes it the most flexible trip I found. It costs $224 and scores 5.0 from 116 reviews. The listing includes unlimited beer, red and white wine, soft drinks, bottled water and snacks such as olives and fuet, a local sausage. Languages include Spanish, Dutch, English, German and Danish.
The listing is unusually specific about finding the boat: search Barcelona Sailing Day on Google Maps and do not use Apple Maps, because the listing says its information is inaccurate. It also recommends public transport, and gives the yellow line (L4) to Ciutadella-Vila Olimpica as the route, then a walk of about 10 minutes toward Port Olimpic. The route in the description passes the golden fish by Frank Gehry and the twin towers.

Barcelona Sailing Day
My pick: Private sailing for up to 9: $224, 1 to 10 hours, unlimited drinks and snacks, 5.0 from 116 reviews.
If you want a shared Barcelona sailing tour rather than a private one, SeaBarcelona and Sail Experience Holiday are the two I’d compare. SeaBarcelona costs $49, holds a maximum of 10 guests and leaves from Marina Port Vell. The skipper talks about the city while you sail three to four miles offshore, and the listing says you can try sailing yourself or just relax. The open bar covers cava, white wine, beer and soft drinks with light snacks, including vegan and vegetarian options. It scores 4.8 from 2,701 reviews and speaks Spanish, English, French and Italian.

SeaBarcelona
My pick: Open-bar sailing for 10: $49, 2 hours, 4.8 from 2,701 reviews, leaves from Marina Port Vell.
SeaBarcelona’s listing says all its cruises are available as private charters or shared, but I only have the shared price. Sail Experience Holiday is the cheaper option at $37 and scores 4.9. Its listing describes a welcome briefing, a skipper and crew who share local insights and take photos, and a swim stop when the conditions permit. Languages are Spanish, English and French.
A Barcelona sailing cruise does not have to be a long one. Charter Low Cost Barcelona runs a 1-hour sunset sailboat cruise for $28, with 4.9 from 1,751 reviews. The listing says tours start from 19:00 daily and the group is limited. Drinks include soft drinks, water and beer. It is the shortest and cheapest way to try sailing in Barcelona, and the only one of the four I would call a quick first-night option.

Charter Low Cost Barcelona
My pick: Short budget sailing: $28, 1 hour at sunset, drinks included, 4.9 from 1,751 reviews.
Sunset times change a lot through the year, and a sunset sail is early in winter. I calculated them for the 15th of each month from the city’s coordinates using sunrise-sunset.org: about 9:28 pm in June, 8:02 pm in September, 5:33 pm in November and 5:24 pm in December. My sunset cruise in Barcelona page has the full list, and the Charter Low Cost start time of 19:00 clearly belongs to the long evenings.
The four boats differ more than the table suggests. On Sail Experience Holiday the listing describes a welcome and safety briefing at the marina, then a sail along the coast with a crew who take photos and point out the sights. SeaBarcelona starts with a briefing and an overview of the route, and its yacht is described as fully equipped, with a stereo system and a professional skipper who shares local stories. On Barcelona Sailing Day the private group gets soft cushions in the cockpit and on the bow, and a short safety instruction from the captain before the moorings are dropped.
Sailing in Barcelona is weather dependent. The listing for Barcelona Sailing Day says the wind pushes the yacht out to sea and that anchoring for a swim happens only when the weather permits, and the same caution appears on SeaBarcelona and Sail Experience Holiday. That means a calm day can feel slow on a sailboat, and a windy day can cancel or shorten a trip. Because every one of the four tickets refunds up to 24 hours before the start, I would look at the wind forecast the evening before and decide then.
The Barcelona Sailing Day listing also mentions that you might see local wildlife, including moonfish, sunfish, turtles, dolphins and perhaps even whales. I would treat that as a bonus and not a reason to book, because the operator itself words it as something that might happen.
People also search for a sailing club or sailing centre in Barcelona. These four are guided trips with a skipper, not courses or memberships, so none of them teaches you to sail beyond what the SeaBarcelona crew shows you on deck. If you want lessons or a club, you would contact a local club directly, which is outside what I compare here.
If you want your own boat for a celebration, my private boat tour in Barcelona page compares private options, and for a party atmosphere there is the party boat in Barcelona page. If you would rather get in the water, the snorkeling tour in Barcelona page covers kayaking and snorkelling. Whichever sailing trip in Barcelona you pick, free cancellation lasts until 24 hours before the start, so you can watch the wind. For every trip I compared, go back to Barcelona boat tours, or start from the Harbour Advisor home page.
In my comparison, four sailing trips run from $28 to $224. Charter Low Cost is $28 for 1 hour, Sail Experience Holiday is $37 for 2 hours, SeaBarcelona is $49 for 2 hours and the private Barcelona Sailing Day charter is $224 for up to 9 guests. All prices are in US dollars with free cancellation 24 hours ahead.
No. All four trips come with a skipper. SeaBarcelona's listing even invites you to try your hand at sailing and learn about navigation, but you can simply relax on deck. These are guided trips, not boat rentals, so nobody needs a licence or any previous sailing experience.
SeaBarcelona caps its yacht at 10 guests and scores 4.8 from 2,701 reviews at $49. Sail Experience Holiday is a limited-guest trip at $37 and scores 4.9 from 2,316 reviews. For a private group of up to 9, Barcelona Sailing Day at $224 scores 5.0 from 116 reviews.
Yes on all four. Sail Experience Holiday serves cava, beer, water, soft drinks and snacks. SeaBarcelona has an open bar with snacks. Charter Low Cost lists soft drinks, water and beer. Barcelona Sailing Day lists unlimited beer, wine, soft drinks, water and snacks for the private group.
From different marinas. SeaBarcelona leaves from Marina Port Vell, where you meet in front of Restaurant MOLO39. Barcelona Sailing Day boards at Moll de la Marina in Port Olimpic. Sail Experience Holiday meets at Moll de Mestral, and Charter Low Cost uses moorings 901 and 902. Check the booking page.
Sometimes. Sail Experience Holiday, SeaBarcelona and Barcelona Sailing Day all say the skipper can stop for a swim when weather and sea conditions allow. It is never guaranteed. Bring a towel, because the listings I read do not list towels as included, and ask the operator about water temperature if you travel outside summer.
