Sailing Lisbon style means a few hours on a sailboat on the Tagus, with the 25 de Abril Bridge overhead and Belém Tower on the horizon. I compared three sailing tours on GetYourGuide: WaterScenery at $28, Saildreams at $38 and Sailing with Nigel at $56. My page on boat tours in Lisbon compares all 12 trips, including the catamarans, party boats and the dolphin safari.
My pick in one line: I’d book the Saildreams sailboat at $38 for the balance of a 4.9 score, a 10-person limit and a drink included, and WaterScenery at $28 if you want the cheapest sail with a guide. Prices are in US dollars from the listings, checked in October 2026, and booking links are affiliate links.

Saildreams
My pick: My sailing pick: $38, 2 hours, max 10 people, welcome drink and snacks, 4.9 from 1,690 reviews.
Lisbon boat trips by sail are a small slice of the market: three tickets out of the 12 I compared are sailboats, and two others, the Bloo Boat Charter river cruise and the Saildreams sunset, overlap with them. What sets the sailing trips apart is group size. The Saildreams listing caps its sailboat at 10 people, and the Nigel yacht is a 15-metre boat, so you are on a vessel with a crew and a captain, not a ferry-sized cruiser.
The table below puts the three options for sailing in Lisbon side by side.
| Sailing tour | Operator | Price | Rating | Duration | Drinks and food | Boards at |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sailing tour on the Tagus | WaterScenery | $28 | 4.8 (2,857) | 1 to 2 hours | One beer or soft drink, spring water, light snack | Marina Doca do Bom Sucesso, Gate 1 |
| Small-group sailboat sunset | Saildreams | $38 | 4.9 (1,690) | 2 hours | Welcome drink and snacks | Doca de Alcântara, Gate 2 |
| Champagne sailing | Sailing with Nigel | $56 | 4.9 (1,392) | 2 hours | Champagne, wine, beer, soft drinks, homemade snacks | Doca de Santo Amaro, Gate 1 |
Sailing in Lisbon on any of the three comes with free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
If you want to try sailing Lisbon Portugal offers without any experience, WaterScenery is the most hands-on. The listing says you board the sailboat at the Doca do Bom Sucesso marina, sail down the Tagus past the Monument to the Discoveries, go under the 25 de Abril Bridge and return by Cristo Rei on the south bank and Belém Tower. You can help the crew sail with no experience necessary, or just sit on deck.
It costs $28, lasts 1 to 2 hours (the itinerary lists a 5-minute safety briefing and 105 minutes of sightseeing) and scores 4.8 from 2,857 reviews. It includes a guide, one beer or soft drink, unlimited spring water, a light snack, insurance and a life jacket. Meals and hotel pickup are not included. The meeting instructions are specific: the crew wears white polo shirts and blue jackets and waits by a white van with a red flag in front of Gate 1, next to the BP garage and close to the Vela Latina restaurant.
The bridge above you is worth a look. It is 3,173 metres long and opened in 1966 as the Salazar Bridge, according to Wikipedia.

WaterScenery
My pick: The cheapest sail with a guide: $28, 1 to 2 hours, 4.8 from 2,857 reviews.
The lisbon sailing tour I’d book for a quieter evening is the Saildreams sunset. It sails from Doca de Alcântara, passes Praça do Comércio, Almada and Cristo Rei, then Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the MAAT museum, and returns to the dock. The cap of 10 people means the crew can talk to everyone, and the listing says most travellers can participate. A toilet is on board.
It is also the best fit for the sunset hour. The exact boarding spot is sent by WhatsApp on the day, so make sure your phone works. Languages are Spanish, English, Portuguese and French. For the sunset time on your date, see my sunset cruise Lisbon table, which runs from about 5:16 pm in December to about 9:05 pm in June.
Sailing tours in Lisbon at the top end are Sailing with Nigel’s champagne sails. The yacht is called Mara, a 15-metre sailing yacht, and the 2-hour trip costs $56. The listing includes Portuguese champagne, white wine, beer, soft drinks, homemade snacks and a captain who explains the landmarks. The stops are the 25 de Abril Bridge, Praça do Comércio, Alfama, Cristo Rei, Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.
You meet at Doca de Santo Amaro, and the listing asks you to search for Sailing with Nigel on Google for directions: walk past the bars and restaurants toward the suspension bridge, and gate 1 is under it. Arrive 15 minutes before departure. The rating is 4.9 from 1,392 reviews, and English, Portuguese and French are the listed languages. One reviewer says the crew catered for a coeliac daughter. I’d still ask about allergies before you board, because the listing itself doesn’t mention it.

Sailing with Nigel
My pick: The splurge sail: $56, 2 hours, champagne and homemade snacks, 4.9 from 1,392 reviews.
Choosing between the three sailing Lisbon tour options comes down to what you are paying for. WaterScenery is the cheapest and the only one where you can help sail. Saildreams is the smallest group. Nigel’s trip includes the most to eat and drink. Prices of $28, $38 and $56 are all lower than the dolphin trip at $73, and the review counts are all in four figures, which is rare in this niche.
Here is how they compare on the details that tend to matter. Duration is almost identical, between 1 and 2 hours. Cancellation is the same on every ticket. The real difference is the starting dock: Bom Sucesso, Alcântara and Santo Amaro are up to about 3 km apart, so check where you are staying. From Santo Amaro to Doca de Alcântara is about 0.6 km, a short walk if you plan two trips.
A search for a Lisbon sailing club is a different intent from a tour. A club means membership, lessons or racing, and none of the three operators here sells that. The Google Maps data I collected shows several sailing and yacht offices around Belém and Alcântara, such as The Ocean Week and Lisbon Sail, but I haven’t compared their products, and they aren’t on GetYourGuide in my list.
If you want to learn to sail in the city, call a marina office at Doca de Alcântara or Belém and ask about courses. The tours above are for visitors who want the view, not a certificate.
Sailing Lisbon style is a lot more weather-dependent than a big cruise boat. The river is wide and the breeze on the open water is stronger than on the streets, so a windproof layer is worth packing even in summer. Wear shoes with a flat sole that you don’t mind getting damp, and bring sunglasses with a strap if you plan to sit at the bow.
The listings for WaterScenery and Saildreams both mention life jackets or safety briefings, and the WaterScenery itinerary lists a 5-minute safety briefing before the 105 minutes of sightseeing. If anyone in your group prone to seasickness is coming, the Ondas de Angelo listing names that group as excluded on its party cruise, which is a reminder to check the same on any boat that moves under sail. I’d also take cash or a card for extra drinks on the larger boats, since the two sunset catamarans sell drinks at a bar.
Match the marina to your hotel, arrive 10 to 15 minutes early and keep an eye on the forecast, since you can cancel free until 24 hours before. For the complete list of sailing options and other trips, see boat tours in Lisbon. For other cities, start from the Harbour Advisor home page.
I compared three on GetYourGuide. WaterScenery is $28 for 1 to 2 hours, Saildreams is $38 for 2 hours and Sailing with Nigel is $56 for 2 hours. All prices are in US dollars, and each has free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
Not on the WaterScenery tour. Its description says you can help the crew sail the boat with no experience necessary, or simply relax on deck. The other two listings describe a captain or crew taking you out, so the trip is a passive cruise unless the skipper invites you to help.
On the data I'd pick the Saildreams sailboat at $38. It scores 4.9 from 1,690 reviews, is limited to 10 people and includes a welcome drink and snacks. Sailing with Nigel also scores 4.9 from 1,392 reviews, but at $56 it costs more, and its champagne and food are the reason.
On Sailing with Nigel, yes: the listing includes Portuguese champagne, white wine, beer, soft drinks and homemade snacks on a 15-metre yacht. WaterScenery includes one beer or soft drink and a light snack. Saildreams includes a welcome drink and snacks, but its listing does not name champagne.
From three marinas on the western waterfront. WaterScenery boards at Marina Doca do Bom Sucesso, Gate 1. Saildreams boards at Doca de Alcântara, Gate 2. Sailing with Nigel meets at Doca de Santo Amaro, gate 1 under the suspension bridge, and asks you to arrive 15 minutes early.
I can't say. My data covers paid sailing tours, not membership clubs, and none of the three operators I compared describes itself as one. If you want a club, ask a marina office at Doca de Alcântara or Belém.
