A private boat tour in Ibiza means the boat is yours for 4 to 8 hours, and I found four, from $269 to $1,049. Two list a captain, one does not say, and one is a boat you drive. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page. For cheaper shared options, see my guide to boat tours in Ibiza.
My pick for a private boat tour in Ibiza is the Blue Medusa private snorkeling trip: $550, 4 hours, rated 4.9 from 20 reviews. For a full day on Formentera, a private boat tour in Ibiza that I’d book is the Bora Sailing sailboat: $741, 8 hours, rated 4.9 from 57 reviews.
Private Boat Hire Ibiza
Private boat hire in Ibiza splits into two kinds: with a captain, or without. The price in each listing is for the boat, not for each guest, which is why the cost per person drops with a bigger group. The Bora Sailing listing states a capacity of up to 7 guests, so $741 works out at about $106 each for a full group. The other listings do not state a capacity in the data I have, so ask before you invite a crowd.
For a private boat tour in Ibiza that keeps the budget lowest, the Summer Dreams boat along the San Antonio coast is $269 for 4 hours, rated 5.0 from 14 reviews. It is the one I treat with the most care, because the licence rules apply to it. The details are in the licence section below and on my boat rental page.
Private Boat Rental Ibiza
The cheapest private boat tour in Ibiza, at $269, is the Summer Dreams boat. It includes speakers with a Bluetooth radio, a USB charger, an icebox, a Bimini top, a swim ladder, snorkeling masks, sun lounges, anchoring gear, insurance and cleaning, plus a full briefing before departure. The exact location and the staff contact arrive by WhatsApp after you book.
Its title says “License Required”, and the description gives the reason: from 1 October 2026, a boating licence or an equivalent qualification recognised in Spain is mandatory to operate the boat, even though the inclusions still say private boat without a licence. This follows Real Decreto 1188/2025, which limited the licence exemption for small boats to private use from that date. Bring your licence, and ask the operator which documents it accepts.

My pick: The lowest-priced private boat: $269 for 4 hours, 5.0 from 14 reviews. A licence is required from 1 October 2026.
Private Boat Trip Ibiza
The private boat trip in Ibiza I like best on paper is the Blue Medusa snorkeling and paddleboarding trip. It is $550 for 4 hours on a modern, spacious boat with a 90 hp Suzuki engine, rated 4.9 from 20 reviews. The listing includes stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, a swim stop, external speakers, inflatable toys, a Bimini top, an icebox, fuel and a final clean, and pets are allowed on board.
The named coves are Cala Conta, Cala Bassa, Cala Salada, Es Vedra and Ses Margarites, and the listing promises no rush, no crowds and freedom to anchor wherever you like. The meeting point reads Open in Google Maps, so check the pin on the booking page. With only 20 reviews, it is a promising trip rather than a proven one.
Blue Medusa Boats

My pick: My private pick: $550 for the boat, 4 hours, SUP and snorkeling, pets allowed, 4.9 from 20 reviews.
A private boat from Ibiza to Formentera means a sailboat in my data. Bora Sailing offers a private 43-foot sailboat for up to 7 guests with a local captain for the full day: $741 for 8 hours, rated 4.9 from 57 reviews. It includes snorkeling gear, stand-up paddleboards, floaties, a restroom and WiFi. The stops are Formentera, Playa de Ses Illetes, Es Pujols and Platja des Jondal, and the team meets you at the pick-up point at Es Xarco.
The straight-line distance from Ibiza Harbour to Puerto Formentera is 19.7 kilometres by my measurement. The inclusions list says food and drinks while the exclusions list says lunch and drinks, so I’d ask the operator which is correct. Shared options for the same crossing are on my catamaran tour page, from $131.
BORA SAILING
- ★ 4.9 (57 reviews)

My pick: Private sailboat to Formentera: $741 for up to 7, 8 hours, captain included, 4.9 from 57 reviews.
Private Boat Charter Ibiza
The Aruna private boat charter is the traditional option among private boat tours in Ibiza: a renovated Balearic boat with a local captain, Jaime, for 4 to 8 hours at $1,049, rated 5.0 from 14 reviews. He picks a west-coast or a north route depending on the sea on the day, with stops at coves, islets and snorkeling spots. The price covers the captain, insurance, fuel, cleaning, two SUP boards, snorkeling equipment and courtesy drinks, including a bottle of cava.
Food is not included, but you can bring your own. That is the point where a charter feels private: you decide what to eat and when to swim. I compare it with the other charter on my yacht charter page.
Aruna Ibiza Charter

My pick: A traditional boat and a named captain: $1,049, 4 to 8 hours, SUPs and cava included, 5.0 from 14 reviews.
Private Yacht Charter Ibiza
A private yacht charter in Ibiza is a step above these four and costs $1,290 for four hours on the Rapture Tagomago charter. It has no reviews yet, so I list it on the yacht page rather than as a card here. If you want the yacht route, read the full comparison on my yacht charter page. If you want a smaller budget, the self-drive boats on my snorkeling tour page start with Daydream at $309.
A private boat tour in Ibiza costs more per booking than a shared trip, but the comparison changes with group size. Shared tickets in my list run from $51 to $134 each. A group of four on the $550 Blue Medusa boat pays about $138 each, which is close to the top of the shared range, and a group of seven on Bora Sailing pays about $106 each for an eight-hour day. So for small groups the private boat is a fair trade; for a couple it is not.
What you gain is the timetable. The shared tours leave at fixed times and stop where the group stops, while the private listings talk about anchoring where you like and setting your own pace. What you lose on a private boat tour in Ibiza is the bar and the crowd, since the private listings include drinks only on Aruna and speakers on Blue Medusa and Summer Dreams. If a party is the aim, my party boat page is a better fit.

What to Check Before You Book a Private Boat in Ibiza
Check four things on a private boat tour in Ibiza. First, who steers and whether you need a licence, because the Summer Dreams listing is the one that asks you to drive and the Blue Medusa listing does not say. Second, the capacity, which only Bora Sailing states. Third, the meeting point, which is Es Xarco for Bora Sailing, a Google Maps pin for Blue Medusa and Aruna, and a WhatsApp message for Summer Dreams. Fourth, what is not included: food on Aruna, lunch and drinks on Bora Sailing.
Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before on all four. Because the trips are private, the weather changes the route rather than the price, as the Aruna listing says. For an evening version, see my sunset cruise page, and for the boats with a DJ, my party boat page.
Which Private Boat Tour in Ibiza I’d Book
For a private boat tour in Ibiza, I’d book Blue Medusa at $550 for a half day with swimming and Bora Sailing at $741 for Formentera, because both are rated 4.9. I’d take the Aruna charter for a quieter, more traditional day and the Summer Dreams boat only after confirming my licence.
