Stern Wind Cruises Lda
Sunset Boat Party Cruise with DJ and Open Bar
4.5 (14,214) · from $26

Choosing a boat tour Lisbon visitors will enjoy is mostly a question of timing, because the Tagus looks very different at noon and at sunset. I compared 12 trips on GetYourGuide, and they fall into a few clear groups: sunset cruises with a welcome drink, small sailboats, DJ party boats, a plain river cruise with an audio guide and one dolphin safari. Prices run from $17 to $73, ratings from 4.3 to 4.9, and the operators include Sardinha do Tejo, Saildreams, WaterScenery, Blue Cruises, SeaEO and Sailing with Nigel.
My short answer: for a first evening on the water I’d book the Sardinha do Tejo catamaran at $31. As a boat tour Lisbon first-timers can afford, it lasts 1.5 hours, scores 4.7 from 3,590 reviews and passes the 25 de Abril Bridge, Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries. If you would rather have a small group, my pick is the Saildreams sailboat at $38, which is limited to 10 people and scores 4.9. Every price, rating and duration below comes from the listings, checked in October 2026, and prices are in US dollars. Links that open GetYourGuide are affiliate links, and I explain how that works on my about page.
Every boat tour Lisbon offers sails the same wide estuary of the Tagus, the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula at about 1,007 km according to Wikipedia. What changes from one ticket to the next is the boat, the group size and what is poured into your glass. The city sits on the north bank, so the old districts of Alfama and Baixa rise behind you on one side while the Cristo Rei statue stands on the south bank across from them.
The first card is the one I’d book if you want a relaxed, no-fuss trip. The Sardinha do Tejo catamaran sunset tour is $31 for 1.5 hours, scores 4.7 from 3,590 reviews and includes one welcome drink, music and two toilets. It meets at Doca de Santo Amaro, door 3, near the Rui dos Pregos restaurant, and its listed route passes Cristo Rei, the 25 de Abril Bridge, the Champalimaud Foundation, Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and Jerónimos Monastery. Tours run in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Sardinha do Tejo
My pick: My first-evening pick: $31, 1.5 hours on a catamaran, 4.7 from 3,590 reviews, one welcome drink included.
The second card is the opposite mood. The Ondas de Angelo sunset DJ party costs $39 for 2 hours and includes a live DJ, beer, Portuguese white or rosé wine, sangria and pizza (pepperoni and a vegetarian margherita). It scores 4.5 from 347 reviews, which is far fewer than the catamaran, and the listing excludes children under 18. I’d choose it for a group of friends who want food on board. The full party comparison is on my page about the party boat in Lisbon.

Ondas de Angelo
My pick: The party option with food: live DJ, open drinks and pizza for $39, 2 hours, adults only.
Lisbon boat trips split roughly in half between the sunset slot and everything else. The best boat tour Lisbon has by reviews is usually a sunset one, because that is where the best-reviewed departures are. Sunset on the river is early in winter and very late in summer, so the same ticket feels different by season. I worked out the times month by month on my sunset cruise page.
Two cards sit here. The first is the cheapest sunset ticket in my data: Sardinha do Tejo again, this time on a 2-hour boat for $22, scoring 4.6 from 4,255 reviews. It includes one welcome drink, music and two toilets, and it meets at the Rocha Conde de Óbidos parking lot, near the LACS and Okah restaurants. The listed route is the longest of the group in terms of waterfront, from Cais do Sodré and Ribeira das Naus past Praça do Comércio and Alfama to the bridge, Cristo Rei and Belém. Its languages include German as well as English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Night tourSardinha do Tejo
My pick: The cheapest sunset ticket I found: $22 for 2 hours with a welcome drink, 4.6 from 4,255 reviews.
The second is a longer night out. Lisbon Boat Party describes itself as the original boat party in the city, cruising since 2023, and its listing runs 4 hours for $45 with a welcome drink, a long drink, a live DJ and entry to a top club in Lisbon. You find the boat by its blue flag reading Lisbon Boat Party, and the vessel is named Principe Perfeito. It scores 4.6 from 243 reviews and, like the other party boat, excludes children under 18.

Lisbon Party Boat
My pick: The long night: $45 for 4 hours with a live DJ, drinks and club entry, 4.6 from 243 reviews.
If you want a lisbon sightseeing cruise rather than a party, the sailboat from WaterScenery is the one I’d compare first among sailing options for a boat tour Lisbon sightseers like. It costs $28, takes 1 to 2 hours and has the best rating of the cheaper tickets: 4.8 from 2,857 reviews. The listing includes one drink (beer or a soft drink), unlimited spring water, a light snack, a guide and insurance. The route in the description runs from Doca do Bom Sucesso under the 25 de Abril Bridge, past Cristo Rei on the south bank and back by Belém Tower, and you can help the crew sail or simply sit on deck.
The bridge you pass under is a landmark in itself. It opened on 6 August 1966 as the Salazar Bridge and was renamed after the 1974 Carnation Revolution, according to Wikipedia. The meeting point is easy to miss: look for the white van with the red flag in front of Gate 1 at Marina Doca do Bom Sucesso, next to the BP garage and near the Vela Latina restaurant. More sailing options are on my sailing in Lisbon page.

WaterScenery
My pick: A sailing sightseeing trip with a guide for $28, 1 to 2 hours, 4.8 from 2,857 reviews.
People who search for boat tour Lisbon Reddit threads are usually asking one question: is it worth paying for? I can’t quote forum posts, but I can show what the review counts say. The Blue Cruises Tagus river cruise is the cheapest ticket in my comparison at $17, and 6,505 travellers have rated it 4.3. That is the lowest score of the 12, so I treat it as good value rather than a standout.
What you get is a 1.5-hour cruise on a spacious boat, one complimentary drink from the daily selection and an audio guide in the Blue Cruise app. Bring your own headphones, because the listing says so. It leaves from the Estação Fluvial Sul e Sueste, and an onboard bar sells snacks and cocktails. English is the only listed language. I’d book it if you want the monuments for the lowest price and don’t mind a less personal trip; the full river comparison is on my river cruise in Lisbon page.

Blue Cruises
My pick: The budget benchmark: $17, 1.5 hours, audio guide in an app, 4.3 from 6,505 reviews.
A private boat tour Lisbon operators run is the one thing my data mostly doesn’t cover. Eleven of the 12 listings are shared departures, and the only one tagged with a private option is the Bloo Boat Charter river cruise, which appears under the kids section below. I don’t have a price for the private version, so I won’t guess one. If you want a whole boat for your group, open that listing and check the options for your date.
The estuary does have many charter companies offering private boat tours in Lisbon. In the Google Maps data I collected, the docks at Belém and Alcântara hold several yacht and boat-tour offices, such as Taguscruises and Lisbon Sail in Belém, but none of those are on GetYourGuide in this comparison, so I can’t compare their prices. For a small-group feel without a private charter, the 10-person Saildreams sailboat is the closest thing I found.
An evening boat tour Lisbon offers is mostly about the light and the lit-up waterfront, and two tickets in my data are described as night or evening trips. The first is the Stern Wind sunset boat party. At $26 for 2 to 4 hours it is the cheapest party boat, with an open bar (white wine, beer, sangria and soft drinks), a DJ, a bathroom and hotel pickup. The score is 4.5 from 14,214 reviews, by far the largest review count in my comparison. The listing doesn’t give a meeting point, so read the booking page before you go.
Night tourStern Wind Cruises Lda
My pick: The best-reviewed party boat by volume: $26, open bar and DJ, 4.5 from 14,214 reviews.
The second is calmer. The Bubble Sea Events sunset and night cruise costs $33 for 2 hours and includes champagne and water. It leaves from Doca de Belém, the marina next to the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, and the stop list is the longest in my data: it includes Cacilhas, Ginjal, Porto Brandão, the Barracuda submarine and the Tejo Power Station. It scores 4.9, but from only 28 reviews, so I’d trust it less than the tours with thousands of ratings. Babies under 1 year are excluded.
Night tourBUBBLE Sea Events
My pick: A quiet champagne option: $33, 2 hours from Doca de Belém, 4.9 but only 28 reviews.
The dolphin trip is the odd boat tour Lisbon sells. It is a speedboat, not a sailboat or catamaran, and it heads out toward the Atlantic. The SeaEO Tours ocean safari costs $73, runs about 3 hours and has a marine biologist on board. It also scores 4.9 from 2,220 reviews, tied for the top rating in the data. The listed stops are the Fort of São Lourenço do Bugio at the mouth of the Tagus, Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.
I can’t promise a sighting and the listing doesn’t either, so treat it as a wildlife trip with a good chance rather than a guarantee. It meets at Doca de Santo Amaro, Gate 3, the dock under the big red bridge, and it includes the marine biologist guide, life jackets, insurance, taxes and fuel. Food, water and tips are not included. It is the most expensive ticket here, but the group is described as intimate and non-crowded.

SeaEO - Tours
My pick: The only wildlife trip: $73, 3 hours with a marine biologist, 4.9 from 2,220 reviews.
Families booking a boat tour Lisbon has to offer should read the age rules before the price. Both party boats exclude children under 18 and the Bubble Sea champagne cruise excludes babies under 1 year. For a family boat tour Lisbon fans rate well, I’d start with Bloo Boat Charter. Its Tagus river cruise costs $31 and runs 2 to 3 hours, with a morning, day, sunset or night slot, a welcome drink and salty snacks. The score is 4.8 from 846 reviews.
The route starts at Doca do Bom Sucesso in Belém and covers both banks of the river. The listing names Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, the Electricity Museum, MAAT, Jerónimos Monastery, Terreiro do Paço and Cristo Rei, then the hills of Bairro Alto, Alfama and the castle after passing the bridge. Meet at door 3 and arrive 15 minutes early. A daytime slot is easier with small children than a sunset departure. One reviewer of the catamaran described it as well suited to families with small children, but that is a review, not a promise from the operator.
Night tourBLOO BOAT CHARTER
My pick: My family pick: $31, 2 to 3 hours with day, sunset or night slots, a private option, 4.8 from 846 reviews.
Anyone searching for a boat tour Lisbon Portugal wide will find the same 25 de Abril Bridge, Belém and Cristo Rei in every itinerary, so the small details matter more. The one I’d book for a couple or a small group is the Saildreams sailboat sunset tour. It costs $38, lasts 2 hours and scores 4.9 from 1,690 reviews. The listing is limited to 10 people, includes a welcome drink and snacks, and has a toilet on board.
It meets at Doca de Alcântara, Gate 2, and the operator sends the exact location by WhatsApp on the day. The route goes from the dock to Praça do Comércio, Almada, Cristo Rei, Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the MAAT museum, then back to the dock. English, Spanish, Portuguese and French are listed. It is the best match in my data for people who want a boat tour in Portugal’s capital without a crowd.

Saildreams
My pick: Small group, big view: $38, 2 hours, max 10 people, 4.9 from 1,690 reviews.
A boat ride Lisbon couples remember is usually the one with something to toast. Sailing with Nigel runs a 15-metre sailing yacht called Mara, and the champagne tour costs $56 for 2 hours. It includes Portuguese champagne, white wine, beer, soft drinks, homemade snacks and a captain who tells you about the landmarks. The score is 4.9 from 1,392 reviews, and one reviewer mentions the crew catering for a coeliac daughter, though I’d ask the operator about allergies before you rely on that.
To find it, search for Sailing with Nigel on Google as the listing advises, walk through the bars and restaurants at Doca de Santo Amaro toward the suspension bridge, and look for gate number 1 under it. Arrive 15 minutes before departure. It is the most expensive sailing option, but it is also the one with the most food and wine included.

Sailing with Nigel
My pick: My splurge: $56 for 2 hours on a 15-metre yacht with champagne and homemade snacks, 4.9 from 1,392 reviews.
Almost every boat tour Lisbon sells follows the same line along the north bank. The boats leave from the Santo Amaro, Alcântara or Belém docks, pass under the 25 de Abril Bridge, then turn toward Cristo Rei and Praça do Comércio before heading back. The 25 de Abril Bridge is 3,173 metres long with a main span of 1,012.9 metres, per Wikipedia, so it dominates the view from Santo Amaro.

Stops on the route
Heading west, Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries sit about 0.9 km from each other on the shore, and Jerónimos Monastery is about 0.5 km from the Monument. Heading east, Praça do Comércio is about 6 km by straight line from the Belém dock. The Fort of São Lourenço do Bugio is the farthest point, and only the dolphin trip lists it.
Most boat tour Lisbon departures cluster along a 3 km stretch of the north bank between Doca de Santo Amaro and Belém, with a few further east near Cais do Sodré. These are the places I’d use to orient yourself. I’ve marked as stops the sights that appear in a product’s itinerary.

Doca de Santo Amaro is the base for the catamaran, the party boat with pizza, the dolphin safari and Sailing with Nigel. Doca de Alcântara is about 0.6 km east of it and is where Saildreams boards. Doca do Bom Sucesso and Doca de Belém are both within about 1 km of Belém Tower, so the Bloo, WaterScenery and Bubble Sea tours reach the monuments within minutes. Marina Parque das Nações is up the river to the east, roughly 6 km from Praça do Comércio, and none of my 12 tours lists it as a start point.
This boat tour Lisbon table is built from the same listings. Prices are the lowest in each group.
| Trip type | Price from | Typical duration | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| River cruise | $17 | 1.5 to 3 hours | First-timers, families, budgets |
| Sunset cruise | $22 | 1.5 to 2 hours | Golden hour, couples, photos |
| Sailing trip | $28 | 1 to 2 hours | Small groups, champagne, a quieter pace |
| Party boat | $26 | 2 to 4 hours | Friends, birthdays, adults only |
| Dolphin watching | $73 | 3 hours | Wildlife fans |
For most visitors I recommend a sunset sail or catamaran, because the light does half the work. Of all the boat tours in Lisbon, book the dolphin trip on purpose, and book a party boat only if you want a dance floor.
Here is the list I’d use for any boat tour Lisbon has on offer:
Whatever you choose, check the dock on the booking page, because Santo Amaro, Alcântara, Bom Sucesso and Belém are different gates up to 3 km apart, and arrive 10 to 15 minutes early where the listing asks for it. Every ticket allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. For other cities, start from the Harbour Advisor home page. Whichever boat tour Lisbon travellers rank first, I’d still match the trip to your time, your group and your budget.

For a first evening on the water I'd book the Sardinha do Tejo catamaran sunset tour. It costs $31, lasts 1.5 hours, scores 4.7 from 3,590 reviews and leaves from Doca de Santo Amaro. If you want a small boat and a drink, the Saildreams sailboat sunset tour at $38 is limited to 10 people and scores 4.9.
In my comparison prices run from $17 for the 1.5-hour Blue Cruises Tagus river cruise to $73 for the 3-hour dolphin watching trip. Sunset cruises with a drink are $22 to $38, sailing trips are $28 to $56, and the DJ party boats cost $26 to $45. All prices are in US dollars.
Yes, on every tour I compared. All 12 GetYourGuide listings let you cancel up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund. That includes the $17 river cruise, the $73 dolphin trip and the party boats, so you can wait for the forecast before you commit.
From docks and marinas along the north bank of the Tagus. Doca de Santo Amaro (gates 1 and 3) is used by the catamaran, party, dolphin and Nigel sailing tours. Doca de Alcântara, Doca do Bom Sucesso in Belém and Doca de Belém are used by others. Check the meeting point on each booking page.
Yes, but pick carefully. The Bloo Boat Charter river cruise at $31 is the one I'd choose for a family, and its listing offers a private option. The two party boats exclude children under 18, and the Bubble Sea champagne cruise excludes babies under 1 year. Check each listing's age rules.
Yes. The SeaEO dolphin watching trip costs $73, runs about 3 hours and scores 4.9 from 2,220 reviews. It leaves from Doca de Santo Amaro, has a marine biologist on board and heads out toward the Fort of São Lourenço do Bugio at the mouth of the Tagus.
Most are 1.5 to 2 hours. The Blue Cruises river cruise and the Sardinha do Tejo catamaran take 1.5 hours, the sailboats and most sunset tours take 2 hours, the dolphin trip is 3 hours and the Lisbon Boat Party sunset cruise with club entry is listed at 4 hours.
One listing says so. The Bloo Boat Charter Tagus river cruise is tagged as having a private option, and it runs 2 to 3 hours from Doca do Bom Sucesso. I don't have a price for the private version, so check the booking page. The other 11 tours I compared are shared departures.
