Stromma Netherlands
Original Pizza Dinner Cruise + Unlimited Drinks
4.5 (3,101) · from $39

A dinner cruise in Amsterdam is a boat trip through the canals with a meal served on board, and I found three, from $39 to $135. The cheapest serves pizza, the middle one four courses and the dearest three courses at a private window table. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page. For the full list of trips, see my overview of boat tours in Amsterdam.
My pick for a relaxed first evening is the Stromma Original Pizza dinner cruise: $39, 1.5 hours, rated 4.5 from 3,101 reviews, with a New York pizza and drinks. For a proper sit-down dinner I’d choose the Rederij Aemstelland high-end 3-course cruise at $135, rated 4.7 from 297 reviews.
Dinner cruises in Amsterdam sail the same canals as the daytime boats, but the evening changes what you notice. The canal belt is the Seventeenth-Century Canal Ring Area on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, and after dark the gabled houses and bridges are lit. All three dinner cruises in my data are listed as evening trips, and the two longer ones are flagged as night tours.
The Stromma pizza cruise is the casual one. It leaves from Damrak, pier 4, with a voucher to show at the departure point, and the itinerary passes Centraal Station, Brouwersgracht, Prinsengracht, the Grachtengordel, the Anne Frank House, the Magere Brug, the Dancing Houses and the NEMO Science Museum. The listing includes the canal cruise, one New York pizza, drinks, wifi, a toilet and complimentary nuts. It says it is for all ages, which makes it the one I’d pick for a family. It excludes bachelor and bachelorette groups.
Damrak is a short walk from the main sights: the Anne Frank House is 0.94 kilometres from the Stromma pier and Dam Square is 0.51, straight-line figures I computed from the place coordinates. That makes the pizza cruise easy to fit around a day on foot. At $39 for 1.5 hours it costs about $26 an hour, the cheapest of the three by that measure.

LOVERS is the name of the cafe where the 4-course trip starts, not a romantic category, though it works as one. The booking page says you check in 15 minutes before departure inside the LOVERS cafe at Prins Hendrikkade 25, with your mobile voucher. The cruise leaves from the Centraal Station area and passes the IJ, the canal belt, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the NEMO Science Museum, the Anne Frank House and the Heineken Experience, according to the listing. It is rated 4.4 from 1,849 reviews, at $100 for 2 hours.
The Rederij Aemstelland cruise is the more intimate option: $135 for 135 minutes, rated 4.7 from 297 reviews, on a classic saloon boat. You are welcomed with a glass of Prosecco (alcohol-free is available), then served small table bites and a freshly prepared 3-course dinner at a private window table for your group. The boat makes brief stops at a partner restaurant, Le Hollandais. Drinks beyond the welcome glass are for sale on board. The dock is in front of Zwanenburgwal 20, about a 5-minute walk from Nieuwmarkt.
For couples I’d choose the Aemstelland one, because of the private table. For a mixed group with different tastes, the LOVERS cruise lets you pick meat, fish or vegetarian, though only one menu per booking.

My pick: The romantic pick: $135, 135 minutes, 3 courses at a private window table, 4.7 from 297 reviews.
The 4-course dinner cruise in Amsterdam is the LOVERS trip, and it is the best value of the two sit-down meals if wine and beer matter to you. Its listing includes the 4-course meal, with a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian menu, and unlimited drinks, including beer, wine and soft drinks. Every menu starts with green pea soup and grilled green asparagus, and every menu ends with a homemade tiramisu made with Dutch stroopwafels. The commentary is multilingual and covers the old port area and the Anne Frank House, among other sights.
Two limits to know. The booking module only lets you choose one menu per booking, so a table of four with two different menus should make two bookings under the same name, and the operator then seats you together. The listing also excludes wheelchair users and pets, though assistance dogs are allowed. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.
At $100 for 2 hours it costs $50 an hour, but unlimited drinks are included, which is why I rate it above the $135 trip for value. The Aemstelland trip gives you a more refined boat, and its drinks are extra.

My pick: The best-value sit-down meal: $100, 2 hours, 4 courses and unlimited drinks, 4.4 from 1,849 reviews.
| Operator | Price | Duration | Boat type | Rating | Cancellation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stromma Netherlands (pizza) | $39 | 1.5 hours | Canal boat with toilet and wifi | 4.5 (3,101 reviews) | Free up to 24 hours |
| Tours & Tickets (4 courses, LOVERS) | $100 | 2 hours | Canal boat, multilingual commentary | 4.4 (1,849 reviews) | Free up to 24 hours |
| Rederij Aemstelland (3 courses) | $135 | 135 minutes | Classic saloon boat | 4.7 (297 reviews) | Free up to 24 hours |
The three trips differ most in what is on the plate and in the glass. The pizza cruise includes one pizza per person and drinks, with nuts on the table. The LOVERS trip includes four courses and unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks. The Aemstelland trip includes a welcome Prosecco, bites and three courses, and then you pay for drinks. If you drink little, the Aemstelland price is more reasonable than it looks; if you drink more, LOVERS wins. None of the three says anything about wine pairing, so I would not promise it.
If you would rather have a drink than a dinner, the evening cruises on my sunset cruise page start at $16 and run about an hour. A normal canal cruise is cheaper still. For a whole boat for your group, see my private boat tour page or my party boat page. I left out river cruises that sail to other countries, because those are not dinner cruises on the Amsterdam canals.
For any dinner cruise in Amsterdam, book early for a weekend and tell the operator about allergies when you book, not at the dock. Check-in times matter: the LOVERS cruise wants you inside the cafe 15 minutes before departure, and the pizza cruise asks you to show your voucher at the departure point. A dinner cruise in Amsterdam runs 1.5 to 2.25 hours, so allow for the boarding time too, and eat nothing heavy beforehand.
For a dinner cruise in Amsterdam I’d book the $39 Stromma pizza trip for a family or a first evening, because 3,101 reviews rate it 4.5 and it is the easiest to reach. I’d choose the $100 LOVERS cruise for the full meal with unlimited drinks, and the $135 Aemstelland cruise for an anniversary. Check the meeting point on your voucher, tell the operator about any dietary needs and use the free cancellation window if plans change. For the other trips, go back to my guide to boat tours in Amsterdam or the home page.
The three dinner cruises I compared cost $39, $100 and $135. The $39 Stromma trip serves a New York pizza and drinks in 1.5 hours. The $100 LOVERS cruise serves four courses and unlimited drinks in 2 hours. The $135 Aemstelland cruise serves three courses in 135 minutes, and drinks beyond the welcome Prosecco are for sale on board.
The pizza cruise meets at Stromma on Damrak, pier 4. The 4-course cruise checks in 15 minutes early inside the LOVERS cafe at Prins Hendrikkade 25. The 3-course cruise leaves from the dock in front of Zwanenburgwal 20, a 5-minute walk from Nieuwmarkt. All three are in the old centre.
The LOVERS 4-course cruise offers meat, fish or vegetarian menus, but the booking module allows one menu per booking, so a mixed table must book separately under the same name. The other two listings do not state menu choices in the text I have, so ask the operator before you book.
All three list a full refund if you cancel up to 24 hours before the start. That is the booking-platform text, so I'd read the policy before paying. Because dinner cruises are fixed-menu bookings, I'd also tell the operator about dietary needs when you book, not at the dock.
The listings for the LOVERS 4-course cruise and the Aemstelland 3-course cruise both exclude wheelchair users. The Stromma pizza cruise lists a toilet and wifi but does not mention access, and it excludes bachelor and bachelorette groups. I'd ask Stromma directly if you need step-free boarding.
