My pick for a yacht rental in Bali is the Golden Horizon private yacht at $496, 9 to 10 hours with lunch, rated 5.0 from 2 reviews. For an evening I’d choose the Serangan sunset yacht at $696, rated 5.0 from 1 review. Neither has enough reviews to trust blindly, and I haven’t been on either boat, so my view rests on the listings.

Neither yacht rental in Bali is a sailboat. Both are yachts with an engine and a crew, so if your plan is a sailing day under canvas, you’d need a different operator. Google Maps lists a few charter companies in Bali that I did not compare, such as SeaTrek Sailing Adventures (4.9 from 54 reviews), Dragoon Yachts (5.0 from 44) and OXO Yachts Indonesia (4.9 from 96), but I have no prices, itineraries or terms for them, so I leave them out of the recommendations. The Google ratings are theirs, not mine.
What my data does show is what the two yachts do on the water. The Golden Horizon yacht crosses to Nusa Penida, a trip the Wonderland Manta Penida fast boat does in about 45 minutes. The Serangan yacht stays on the south coast, sailing toward Nusa Dua and the Waterblow, and stops in the Lagoon Serangan for the sunset. Neither is a sailing trip.
If you are deciding whether a Bali yacht rental beats joining a shared boat, the question is price per person. The shared Nusa Penida trips cost $28 to $47 per person, so a $496 yacht is the same money as roughly 11 to 18 shared tickets. The listing for the Golden Horizon says it is for your chosen companions, but does not state a guest limit, so a group of 6 pays about $83 each and a group of 10 about $50 each on those numbers. That is my arithmetic, not a listed price, and you should ask the operator about capacity and extra fees.
The sunset yacht at $696 works out at $116 each for six guests and $70 for ten. Compare that with the $78 buffet dinner cruise, which has a show and fixed seats, and with the $18 and $25 sunset sails in Lovina and Amed that I cover on my sunset cruise page. The yacht is for privacy and timing, not for the cheapest sunset.
Both yachts are in the south of Bali, which keeps the logistics simple. The Golden Horizon team meets at Surya Lagoon Restaurant on Sanur Beach, with a representative in uniform, or picks you up from your hotel if you choose that option. The Serangan yacht meets at Serangan Harbour, where you look for the Queen Ruizi Yacht counter near the main entrance. Hotel transfers are not included on that one.
The weather is the main variable for any yacht rental in Bali. The Golden Horizon listing says the snorkeling stops at Manta Point or Manta Bay, Gamat Bay and Mangrove Point are subject to sea and weather conditions, so the schedule can shift. For the sea state on the day, Indonesia’s weather agency BMKG publishes marine forecasts. A private charter should let you adjust, but ask what happens if the crew cancels.
A private yacht rental in Bali buys flexibility, and the Golden Horizon listing says it: flexible itinerary, more time at your favorite spots, no shared schedule. The inclusions are long: crew, premium snorkeling gear, a professional snorkeling guide, a GoPro, lunch with an infinity pool, cold soft drinks, fresh fruit, towels, Nusa Penida entrance fees and a private driver and local guides on the island. The land part is a private trip to Kelingking Beach.
The listing doesn’t say how the 9 to 10 hours divide between yacht, lunch and land. The order described is the yacht crossing and snorkeling first, then lunch, then the land excursion, so I’d say the water part is the first half and the road part the second. Ask the operator for exact times.

My pick: Same yacht, the private option for a group: ask for the guest limit before you pay the $496.
The sunset yacht is the Bali yacht rental to book if you want to see Bali’s south coast from the sea. It leaves Serangan Harbour at 3:00 PM, heads toward Nusa Dua and the Waterblow, offers fun fishing and music on deck, and moves on to Tanjung Benoa, where Jet Skiing, Parasailing or Banana Boat are available at extra cost. It reaches Lagoon Serangan for the sunset and is back around 7 PM. Sunset in Bali runs from about 6:07 PM in May to 6:45 PM in January and February (calculated for the island’s coordinates, local time, no daylight saving), so the 7 PM return falls after sunset in every month.
That means a 3:00 PM departure gives about three hours of daylight on the water. The listing says you can bring your own alcohol, that ice is provided, and that decorations for a birthday or anniversary can be arranged. A photographer and drone are extra. I’d treat it as a celebration charter and compare it with the other evening options on my sunset cruise page.
Read the exclusions before you compare the two prices. The Golden Horizon listing leaves out personal expenses and a tip, and the Serangan listing leaves out watersports (jet ski, banana boat, scuba diving), lunch, dinner, hotel transfers, decorations, a photographer with a drone, and alcohol. That matters because a four-hour afternoon charter with no meal still needs a plan for dinner afterward. The sunset yacht includes soft drinks, mineral water, tropical fruit and light snacks, so you will not go hungry, but you will want to eat on land after the 7 PM return.
Neither listing publishes a guest limit, a fuel surcharge or a deposit rule in the text I have, and the Serangan listing says the booking is for a private group. When you compare any Bali yacht rental, ask for those three items in writing before you pay.
If you want snorkeling, the Golden Horizon day is the only yacht rental in Bali on my list that includes it. If you want an evening and nothing else, the Serangan yacht is the one. In either case I’d read the latest reviews on the booking page, because the review counts are tiny. The Golden Horizon yacht leaves from Mertasari Beach in Sanur, and you meet the team at Surya Lagoon Restaurant on Sanur Beach. The sunset yacht leaves from Serangan Harbour, which the listing puts 5 minutes from Sanur Beach, at the Queen Ruizi counter near the main entrance. Private hotel pickup is an option on the first.
