A river cruise Lisbon visitors can book is a one- to three-hour trip on the Tagus, passing the bridge, Belém and the old town from the water. I compared three on GetYourGuide: Blue Cruises at $17, Bloo Boat Charter at $31 and Bubble Sea Events at $33. For the sunset, party and sailing options as well, my page on boat tours in Lisbon compares all 12.
My pick in one line: I’d book Bloo Boat Charter at $31 for the rating (4.8 from 846 reviews) and the choice of time of day, and the Blue Cruises trip at $17 if price is the whole question. Prices are in US dollars from the listings, checked in October 2026, and booking links are affiliate links.

The river is the reason Lisbon looks the way it does. The Tagus is the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula, about 1,007 km according to Wikipedia, and by Lisbon it is wide enough that the south bank looks like a different town. A boat ride in Lisbon on this stretch gives you three things the streets don’t: the full length of the 25 de Abril Bridge, the south-bank statue of Cristo Rei in Almada and the Belém monuments in one line.
That also explains why the three tickets are so similar. They all follow roughly the same north-bank line, and they differ in boat, group size and what you drink. The table below sets the three Lisbon river cruises next to each other.
| Cruise | Operator | Price | Rating | Duration | Includes | Starts at |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tagus river cruise with welcome drink | Blue Cruises | $17 | 4.3 (6,505) | 1.5 hours | Welcome drink, app audio guide | Estação Fluvial Sul e Sueste |
| Morning, day, sunset or night cruise | Bloo Boat Charter | $31 | 4.8 (846) | 2 to 3 hours | Welcome drink, salty snacks, hotel pickup | Doca do Bom Sucesso, door 3 |
| Sunset and night champagne cruise | Bubble Sea Events | $33 | 4.9 (28) | 2 hours | Champagne, water | Doca de Belém |
All three river cruises in Lisbon have free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
The cheapest option is the benchmark. The Blue Cruises river cruise costs $17 and lasts 1.5 hours on what the listing calls a spacious, comfortable boat, with one complimentary drink from the daily selection and an onboard bar selling snacks, drinks and cocktails. The commentary comes through the Blue Cruise app, so bring headphones. The operator’s own description calls it a 1 hour 40 minute cruise, while the listing duration is 1.5 hours.
The listed stops are Praça do Comércio, the 25 de Abril Bridge, the Monument to the Discoveries, Belém Tower and Cristo Rei in Almada, and the description adds Alfama. It starts from the Estação Fluvial Sul e Sueste, and hotel pickup and drop-off are listed. The only language in the data is English. The score is the weak point: 4.3 from 6,505 reviews, and one reviewer complains about a lack of initiative or commentary on the sights. If you want a guide, I’d go with Bloo or a sailboat.

Blue Cruises
My pick: The budget river cruise: $17, 1.5 hours, app audio guide, 4.3 from 6,505 reviews.
The Bloo Boat Charter river cruise is the one I’d call the sensible middle. It costs $31, runs 2 to 3 hours and is sold for a morning, day, sunset or night departure. A luxury sailboat takes you from Doca do Bom Sucesso in Belém along both banks, with a welcome drink and salty snacks (peanuts, cashews, crunchy corn) included, plus crew, fuel and insurance.
The stop list is the richest of the three: Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, Jerónimos Monastery, MAAT, the 25 de Abril Bridge, Time Out Market, Bairro Alto, Praça do Comércio, the castle quarter, Alfama and Cristo Rei, with two drop-off locations. The score is 4.8 from 846 reviews, and languages are Portuguese, English, French and Spanish. Arrive 15 minutes early. There is also a private option, though I don’t have its price.
That makes it the one I’d book for a first visit: you can pick the daylight slot for photos or the sunset slot for the light, which my sunset cruise Lisbon page covers month by month.
Looking at lisbon river cruises as a group, the main trade-off is size. Blue Cruises is the big boat with an app guide, Bloo is a sailboat with a crew and Bubble Sea is a small events operator. The review counts show it: 6,505, 846 and 28. I’d read the 4.9 on Bubble Sea as encouraging but unproven.
If you care about the ship’s mood, think about what you want from the water. A big boat is steady and cheap. A sailboat leans in the wind, which some people love and some don’t. If you want that, look at the sailing in Lisbon page, where the sailing tickets are compared one by one. And if you’d like a DJ, not a commentary, the party boat Lisbon page is the better place to start.
The tagus river cruise Lisbon operators sell after dark is Bubble Sea’s sunset and night champagne cruise. It costs $33 and lasts 2 hours, and the listing includes champagne and water. It leaves from Doca de Belém, the marina next to the Padrão dos Descobrimentos on the north bank of the Tagus estuary.
Its itinerary is the most unusual of the group because it crosses to the south bank. It names Porto Brandão, Ginjal and Cacilhas, along with the Dom Fernando II e Glória frigate, the Barracuda submarine, the Tejo Power Station, the 25 de Abril Bridge, Cristo Rei, Praça do Comércio, São Jorge Castle, the National Pantheon and Belém Tower. Every stop is labelled a photo stop and a pass-by, so you see them from the boat. Babies under 1 year are excluded. With only 28 reviews I’d call it a promising new option and not a proven one.
Night tourBUBBLE Sea Events
My pick: The south-bank route with champagne: $33, 2 hours, 4.9 but only 28 reviews.
A boat cruise Lisbon style is mostly decided by the dock. Blue Cruises starts at the Estação Fluvial Sul e Sueste, which I can’t place on my map from the data, so I’d read its booking page. Bloo starts at Doca do Bom Sucesso and Bubble Sea at Doca de Belém, about 1 km apart on the western end of the waterfront, close to Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries. That makes Bloo and Bubble Sea easy to combine with a walk around Belém before or after.
Arrive 15 minutes early at Bloo, as the listing asks. Bring a jacket even in summer, because the open deck is cooler than the streets once the sun drops, and check the forecast: you can cancel free until 24 hours before.
The best river cruise Lisbon has for a couple on a budget is Blue Cruises, because $17 each leaves money for dinner. For a family I’d pick Bloo, whose daytime slot avoids the late hours and whose listing is the only one offering a private option. For a special evening I’d pick Bubble Sea and its champagne, with the caveat that its 28 reviews are a thin sample.
A river cruise Lisbon operators run in the afternoon will be in strong light, which flattens photos of Belém Tower. The same boat at sunset gives warmer colour, which is why I’d book a late slot if the listing gives you one. Check your date against the monthly table on my sunset page.
Check the dock first, then the time of day. For the full list of every river cruise Lisbon boats sell next to the other trip types, read every Lisbon boat trip I compared. For other cities, start from the Harbour Advisor home page.
I compared three Tagus river cruises on GetYourGuide. Blue Cruises is $17 for 1.5 hours, Bloo Boat Charter is $31 for 2 to 3 hours and Bubble Sea Events is $33 for 2 hours. All prices are in US dollars, and each allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
For the price, I think so. It is the cheapest boat trip in my whole Lisbon comparison at $17, lasts 1.5 hours and includes a complimentary drink and an app audio guide. The catch is the score: 4.3 from 6,505 reviews is the lowest of the 12 tours, so expect a less personal trip.
On Blue Cruises, yes: the listing includes audio commentary through the Blue Cruise app, and you should bring your own headphones. The Bloo and Bubble Sea listings do not mention an audio guide in the data I have. Bubble Sea's itinerary is described as a guided tour, so check the booking page.
It depends on the operator. Blue Cruises starts from the Estação Fluvial Sul e Sueste. Bloo Boat Charter meets at door 3 of Doca do Bom Sucesso in Belém, and Bubble Sea leaves from Doca de Belém, the marina next to the Padrão dos Descobrimentos. Check the exact gate on the booking page.
The listings name the 25 de Abril Bridge, Praça do Comércio, Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, Cristo Rei in Almada, Alfama and, on Bloo, Jerónimos Monastery. Bubble Sea also lists the south-bank stops Cacilhas, Ginjal and Porto Brandão. All of these are views from the water.
Yes. Bubble Sea Events sells a sunset and night champagne cruise at $33, and the Bloo Boat Charter listing offers morning, day, sunset or night slots at $31. Blue Cruises does not list a night option in my data. Departure times aren't stated in the listings, so check your date on the booking page.
