Starboard Boats
Canal Booze Cruise with Unlimited Drinks Option
4.7 (6,182) · from $21

A party boat in Amsterdam is a canal cruise with an open bar, and I found four: one shared booze cruise from $21, one private version at $606 and two King’s Day cruises at $84 that sail on 27 April only. Prices are in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and the booking links are affiliate links, as I explain on my about page. For every kind of trip, see my overview of boat tours in Amsterdam.
My pick for a lively evening with friends is the Starboard canal booze cruise: $21, 1 hour, rated 4.7 from 6,182 reviews, with an open bar option and a maximum of 28 guests. For King’s Day, my pick is the KINboat King’s Day party cruise at $84, rated 4.9 from 74 reviews.
An Amsterdam booze cruise on the canals is a short open-air boat trip where the drinks never stop, and the Starboard one is the most reviewed example in my data. It is $21 for 1 hour with an open bar option, rated 4.7 from 6,182 reviews. The listing says the bar is open from the moment you board: cold beer, wine and soft drinks poured by your host, with no tokens and no queue.
The boat is a sleek, open-air electric boat for a maximum of 28 guests, which keeps it close to the water and away from the large glass boats. The route goes from the old centre into the canal belt and out onto the Amstel, under seven bridges, past houseboats and canal houses. Stops in the listing include the Red Light District, the Herengracht, the Prinsengracht and the Seven Bridges View Point. The cruise ends by the Amstel, about a 10-minute walk from where it started, and the host recommends bars and restaurants nearby.
Snacks are not included, though stroopwafels are for sale on board, and headphones for the QR audio guide are not provided. The guide comes in 10 languages. The meeting point depends on the option you choose when you book.

If you want a party boat in Amsterdam for your own group, you rent the whole boat, and the price changes by a factor of nearly thirty. The Starboard private canal booze cruise is $606 for 1 hour, rated 4.8 from 22 reviews. It is a luxurious covered boat with an open bar of unlimited beer, wine and soda, a professional skipper and a local host. It starts at Amstel 178, and the route runs past the Red Light District, the NEMO Science Museum, the Prinsengracht and the Herengracht.
The listing does not give a passenger limit, so ask Starboard before you invite the whole office. A covered boat is the safer bet in cold or wet months, and I’d choose it over the open boat in winter. Divided between 10 people, $606 is about $61 each, which is three times the price of the shared cruise but with no strangers. Because 22 reviews is a thin sample, I would also read the booking page for recent comments. For quieter private boats, see my private boat tour page, and for self-drive boats where the captain must stay sober, my boat rental page.

Starboard Boats
My pick: The private party boat: $606, 1 hour, covered, open bar, but only 22 reviews so far.
King’s Day is a national holiday in the Netherlands celebrated on 27 April, the king’s birthday, when the streets and canals fill with people dressed in orange. Two party boats in my data are built for that single day, and neither sails at any other time. For official event information, the Amsterdam tourist board is the source I would check.
The KINboat King’s Day party cruise is $84 for 1.5 hours, rated 4.9 from 74 reviews. The listing says 90 minutes to 2 hours, with unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks, a live tour guide and hotel pickup and drop-off. It excludes children under 12, pregnant women, wheelchair users and vegans. The Flagship Kingsday party cruise is also $84 for 1.5 hours, rated 4.5 from only 32 reviews. It adds music and a local captain, departs from Piet Heinkade 1, next to Bimhuis and the Movenpick hotel, and the listing puts that about 20 minutes’ walk from Centraal Station. Food is not included, and it may be an open or a closed saloon boat.
The KINboat cruise has the better rating and more reviews, so it is my choice of the two. Book early: the KINboat listing says spots are limited. Both cancel free up to 24 hours ahead.

Flagship Amsterdam

People who search for an Amsterdam mini cruise often mean a short boat trip, and the party boats here are exactly that: 1 to 1.5 hours. I did not look at overnight sea ferries, since this site covers canal boats. If a short cruise is what you want without the drinking, the $15 Blue Boat classic cruise lasts 75 minutes, and I cover it on my canal cruise page. For an evening with a meal, see my dinner cruise page and for a gentler evening my sunset cruise page.
The rules differ more than the price. The Starboard cruise sets a maximum of 28 guests. The KINboat cruise excludes children under 12 and pregnant women. The Flagship canal cruise states that large bachelor and birthday groups are not allowed, so it is not a party boat even though it has a drinks option. Plan the walk home as well: the Starboard cruise ends on the Amstel, about 10 minutes from the start.
A party boat in Amsterdam is not a different boat, it is a different mood: the same canals, the same bridges and an open bar. The $21 Starboard cruise costs the same as the Flagship and Blue Boat canal cruises, so you lose nothing on price by choosing the party version. What you lose is quiet, and the audio guide: Starboard offers a QR guide, while the hosts talk about the sights without lecturing.
If you want a party boat in Amsterdam with music, only the Flagship King’s Day cruise lists it, and that sails on 27 April only. For the rest of the year, the Starboard shared cruise is the Amsterdam party boat I would book, and the private version is for a group that wants to be alone. Keep in mind that the hour is short: with a 1-hour party boat in Amsterdam, drinks start the moment you board, so arrive on time and eat first. I would also not plan a party boat for a large group of strangers, since the maximum is 28 guests.
For a party boat in Amsterdam I’d book the $21 Starboard shared cruise for most groups, because 6,182 reviews rate it 4.7 and you can add the open bar. I’d choose the $84 KINboat cruise on King’s Day, and the $606 private Starboard boat only for a large group that wants a covered boat. Tell the operator about the group, and use the 24-hour free cancellation if plans change. For the other trips, go back to my guide to boat tours in Amsterdam or the home page.
The four party cruises I compared cost $21 for the Starboard shared booze cruise, $84 for each of the two King's Day cruises and $606 for the Starboard private booze cruise. The $21 trip lasts 1 hour. The King's Day trips last 1.5 hours and sail on 27 April only. Drinks are an option on the $21 cruise and included on the others.
Be careful here. The Flagship canal cruise listing says large bachelor and birthday groups are not allowed, and the Stromma pizza cruise excludes bachelor and bachelorette groups. The Starboard booze cruise is the one built for friends, with a maximum of 28 guests, and the private version suits celebrations. Tell the operator your group size when you book.
King's Day is 27 April, and both King's Day cruises in my data sail on that date only. The KINboat cruise is $84 for 1.5 hours and the Flagship cruise is $84 for 1.5 hours with music. Dates for the next year are not shown in the listing text, so check availability on the booking page.
Yes on all four, with a caveat. The Starboard $21 cruise has an open bar as an option you choose when booking. The private Starboard cruise, the KINboat cruise and the Flagship King's Day cruise include unlimited drinks. Food is not included on the Flagship King's Day cruise, and snacks are not included on the Starboard shared cruise.
All four list a full refund if you cancel up to 24 hours before the start. That is the booking-platform text, so I'd read the policy before paying. For a party, I'd also check the group rules and age limits, since the KINboat listing excludes children under 12 and pregnant women.
